Jusuf Nurkic News
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic (wrist) is expected to miss at least eight weeks of action after undergoing surgery. It's not quite as bad as originally reported since it's only a right wrist fracture. Regardless, the Blazers have a huge hole in the rotation to fill with Nurkic sidelined. Enes Kanter is the biggest winner and he should be immediately added in all formats.
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic (wrist) departed Thursday's game versus Indiana early due to a right wrist fracture. Nurkic played 21 minutes prior to exiting, finishing with five points and eight rebounds in what could be his final game for the foreseeable future. The injury is the latest bad break that Nurkic has caught, having come back from a gruesome broken leg to re-establish himself as a premier big man. Season-long fantasy managers can eye Enes Kanter as a potential replacement, as he has proven capable of compiling points and boards in spades when given the opportunity. There has been no immediate timetable provided for Nurkic, but he'll need to head to the wire barring open IR slots.
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic (quad) was questionable heading into the contest but put together a strong line for his fantasy managers in Wednesday's win. Nurkic scored a season-high 18 points with 12 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals in 30 minutes. The minutes were the most he's played since the second game of the season, as he's been overshadowed by Enes Kanter at times. Wednesday's defensive effort by Nurkic was something Kanter is often not capable of- hopefully, it earns him more minutes moving forward. The Bosnian big man gets a tough matchup on Thursday against Pacers' center Myles Turner, who is currently leading the league in blocks.
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic (quad) has been deemed questionable to play in Wednesday's contest versus the Kings as he battles a left quad contusion. Nurkic played just nine minutes Monday before departing early due to the injury, which forced the team to play small for the majority of the contest. Should Nurkic be ruled out, Enes Kanter would figure to take on an increased role, although with Sacramento not presenting considerable size, the team may opt to continue rolling out a small ball group. Nurkic went for 10 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in his most recent matchup against the Kings, giving him solid DFS appeal if he does suit up. Check back prior to tip-off to get the final word, but with the late tip, shrewd fantasy managers should have a backup plan in place.
