Jusuf Nurkic News
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic is coming off a horrible 2020 campaign where he only played 37 games. He saw a major regression in numbers, but things are looking up for the big man. Enes Kanter took away quite a bit of his value, but Nurkic should be able to see around 30 minutes with Kanter leaving. Cody Zeller and Larry Nance Jr. are on the roster, but shouldn't get in the way of Nurkic. The biggest problem has been his health. Although, it sounds like new head coach Chauncey Billups wants to get Nurkic more involved on both sides of the court. It certainly sounds like he could be in for a career year, assuming Nurkic can stay on the court.
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic (thumb) is available for the Game 5 postseason matchup versus Denver. Nurkic popped up on the injury report with a left thumb bruise, although it is apparent the ailment isn't severe enough to keep him out. The 26-year-old is averaging a double-double throughout four playoff appearances this season, so fantasy managers looking for a reliable DFS center on Tuesday night should keep him in mind.
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic saw just 20 minutes of action in the team's final regular-season game on Sunday, but he posted a nice 20-point, 13-rebound double-double in a 132-116 win over Denver. He shot 8-for-10 from the field and even made a three-pointer against his former team. Nurkic swatted away two shots and bagged a pair of assists with one steal. Nikola Jokic isn't a great defender, so Nurkic should feel very confident ahead of the first-round matchup between the two teams. The series starts at the weekend.
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic needed only 21 minutes of action to put together a good line against Cleveland on Wednesday, finishing a 141-105 win with 15 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and three assists. He made his only three-point attempt and went 6-for-10 overall from the field. Backup center Enes Kanter also had a productive game with 18 points and 13 boards. Nurkic now has six double-doubles in eight games despite playing fewer than 30 minutes in each outing. He'll be battling Andre Drummond and the Lakers next. A Drummond-less Lakers team gave up an easy double-double to Nurkic earlier in the campaign, and the Bosnian might find it harder to reach the numbers this time around.
