Darryn Peterson Fantasy Stats

Utah Jazz guard Darryn Peterson bounced back with 23 points in Tuesday's 117-106 preseason loss to the Denver Nuggets, adding three rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes. The No. 2 overall pick shot 10-for-18 from the field but just 1-for-6 from three, doing most of his damage inside the arc. Peterson had managed only three points on 1-for-5 shooting in Sunday's opener. He has started both preseason games alongside Keyonte George, and Tuesday's 18 shot attempts offered an encouraging look at his scoring upside. The outside shot remains a work in progress, but Peterson should have enough opportunity to carry immediate fantasy appeal.

ESPN's Tim MacMahon is framing Utah Jazz guard Darryn Peterson as a possible franchise centerpiece entering 2026-27. The No. 2 overall pick gives Utah another high-end scorer after averaging 20.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 steals at Kansas, where he posted the highest scoring average by a freshman in program history. Peterson also flashed in July, scoring at least 20 points in each of his first four Summer League appearances before finishing the event at 20.7 points, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. The fantasy question is volume. Keyonte George still has lead-guard usage, while Lauri Markkanen, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Ace Bailey all need touches. Peterson is worth drafting for scoring upside, but his rookie ceiling depends on how quickly Will Hardy clears a steady on-ball role.

Utah Jazz guard Darryn Peterson recorded 23 points on 6-for-18 shooting, 1-for-3 from three, and 6-for-8 at the line, adding five assists, two rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in 26 minutes during Sunday's 104-82 Las Vegas Summer League loss to the Clippers. The No. 2 pick keeps forcing the issue, and the jumper hasn't cooperated in Vegas (12-for-36 over two outings). The playmaking and defensive activity travel, though: Peterson ran up a 12-assist game earlier this summer and filled the sheet again here. He projects as a genuine fantasy contributor as soon as his rookie season, even if usage gets crowded next to Ace Bailey and Cody Williams. Once the shot falls, the scoring, passing, and steal production give him real fantasy value.

Utah Jazz guard Darryn Peterson finished with 24 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one block across 30 minutes in Thursday's 92-88 Summer League loss to the Washington Wizards. The No. 2 overall pick led Utah in scoring in a marquee matchup against No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa, but the efficiency was shaky. Peterson shot 6-for-18 from the field and 2-for-7 from three-point range while also dealing with pressure from Washington's defense. The usage is already fantasy-friendly, but Peterson will need cleaner shooting and fewer empty possessions to match his early-season upside.

Utah Jazz guard Darryn Peterson posted 25 points, 12 assists, two rebounds, and two steals across 28 minutes in Monday's 109-100 Salt Lake City Summer League win over the Memphis Grizzlies. The No. 2 overall pick followed up his 28-point Summer League debut with a more playmaking-heavy performance, outdueling No. 3 pick Cameron Boozer in one of the better prospect matchups of the week. Peterson's scoring was already the main draw, but the 12 assists are the bigger fantasy signal. If Utah gives him steady on-ball reps as a rookie, his points, threes, assists, and steals could translate quickly.

Utah Jazz guard Darryn Peterson announced himself in his Salt Lake City Summer League debut, dropping a game-high 28 points on 11-of-21 shooting with four threes, five rebounds, and two blocks to lead the Jazz past the Hawks 103-102 in overtime, capped by his go-ahead triple in the extra frame. The No. 2 overall pick, taken one spot after AJ Dybantsa, is exactly the kind of debut fantasy managers hoped to see. Peterson quieted the availability concerns that dogged his lone Kansas season, where cramping issues (later tied to creatine) limited him to 24 games. This one matters more than most summer flashes. As a top-two pick on a rebuilding Jazz team with an open backcourt, Peterson has a clear runway to real rookie minutes and usage, giving him legitimate redraft value on top of elite dynasty upside. The one blemish, eight turnovers, is worth monitoring, but target him as a priority rookie.
