Sam Merrill Available Monday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Sam Merrill (hand) has received the green light to play on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets. He has been out of commission since Nov. 17 due to a right-hand sprain. Merrill is in the midst of a career year, averaging 13.9 points per game on fabulous 44.4 three-point shooting. On Monday, he may have to rely more on his two-point shot to score, as Charlotte gives up the fourth-fewest three-point attempts in the league.

Sam Merrill Remains on Shelf Wednesday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Sam Merrill (hand) will sit out his 13th consecutive game on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls. He hasn't played for a month due to a right hand sprain. The injury has halted a career year for Merrill, who has averaged 13.9 points per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the three-point line. The absence of Merrill and Max Strus (foot) has allowed Jaylon Tyson to blossom. The 23-year-old sophomore has recorded three double-doubles this month, averaging 17.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists for December. Tyson and the Cavaliers have an outstanding fantasy matchup on Wednesday against a team ranked second in pace this season, but with a bottom-ten defensive efficiency.

Sam Merrill Unavailable Versus Pacers

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Sam Merrill (hand) will be out of action on Monday against the Indiana Pacers. Merrill will miss his seventh consecutive contest due to a sprained right hand, and there isn't a timetable for his return. Cleveland's backcourt will be very short-handed this evening, with Lonzo Ball (illness) and Darius Garland (rest) also sidelined. Jaylon Tyson should be considered a solid streaming option, as he will get more scoring opportunities with more time on the floor.

Sam Merrill and Craig Porter Jr. Out Monday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Sam Merrill (hand) and guard Craig Porter Jr. (hamstring) will miss Monday's matchup with the Toronto Raptors. Tonight's clash will be the fourth game in a row that Merrill will miss due to a right-hand sprain. A lingering hamstring injury will keep Porter out of action for the second straight contest. With a depleted Cavs backcourt, fantasy managers could turn to Lonzo Ball, who is expected to see plenty of minutes this evening.

Sam Merrill Won't Play on Friday Vs. Pacers

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Sam Merrill (hand) will miss a second consecutive game with a right hand sprain. The 29-year-old drew four starts right before getting hurt and was a solid supporting piece to the team's offense. He's been viable in category leagues as well for fantasy managers that need threes with an average of 3.0 made per game over his last four games. While he's sidelined, there would be some extra minutes for Darius Garland (toe) and Jaylon Tyson (concussion) if they were to be upgraded from questionable. Otherwise, Nae'Qwan Tomlin might be a sneaky play in DFS or deeper leagues. He registered 10 points and two rebounds in 19 minutes in their last game. If De'Andre Hunter is available, though, he'd be the more consistent streaming option.

Sam Merrill Ruled Out for Wednesday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Sam Merrill (hand) will miss Wednesday's contest against the Houston Rockets. He was initially listed as questionable for the game after Merrill injured his shooting hand in Monday's win over the Milwaukee Bucks. With Darius Garland (toe) still absent, Nae'Qwan Tomlin will make his second career start. Tomlin finished his first career start with a 24-point, 12-rebound double-double. However, it came in a contest that featured only Jarrett Allen from Cleveland's big guns. Tomlin will likely be limited to a complementary role in Wednesday's game.

Sam Merrill Iffy for Wednesday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Sam Merrill (hand) is questionable for Wednesday's contest against the Houston Rockets. The talented sniper sprained his right hand in Monday's victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, and the injury may force him to miss his fourth game of the season. Merrill has recently been Darius Garland's (toe) replacement in the starting lineup. Despite injuring his shooting hand, he nailed six triples during a 20-point performance on Monday night. If Merrill lands on the shelf Wednesday night, Dean Wade or Craig Porter Jr. could step into the first unit, increasing their fantasy appeal.

Sam Merrill Starting on Thursday Night

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Sam Merrill will start in Thursday's meeting with the Toronto Raptors. The Cavs are down Darius Garland (rest, left knee injury management), Jaylon Tyson (concussion), and Lonzo Ball (left knee, injury management). As a result, the 29-year-old will get some action with the first-five versus the 6-5 Raptors. Merrill has started five times during the 2025 campaign, averaging 14.8 points and 44.2% shooting from behind the arc. While Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, De'Andre Hunter, and Jarrett Allen should lead the way offensively, Merrill could easily surpass his usual fantasy expectations.

Sam Merrill May Skip Another Contest Sunday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Sam Merrill (hip) remains questionable on the injury report ahead of Sunday's encounter with the Atlanta Hawks. Merrill is battling to overcome a hip contusion, which has already sidelined him for two games. Due to Cleveland's injury situation, Merrill has had a significant role on the team this season, averaging 17.3 points per game. In his absence, Jaylon Tyson has produced a pair of solid performances as a member of the first unit. He will continue to have increased fantasy value if Merrill can't make a return on Sunday.

Sam Merrill to Miss Friday's Game

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Sam Merrill (hip) is not ready to return to the lineup on Friday against the Toronto Raptors, missing a second consecutive contest. The talented shooter, who has averaged 17.3 points early this season, is struggling to overcome a right hip contusion. Darius Garland (toe) will also remain out against Toronto, while Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) and Jarrett Allen (finger) are considered questionable. This means the Cavaliers offense may hinge on Evan Mobley, De'Andre Hunter, and Lonzo Ball on Friday night.
