Thomas Bryant Traded To Indiana

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Heat have agreed to trade center Thomas Bryant to the Pacers. In exchange, Indiana will swap a future second-round pick with Miami. The 27-year-old has averaged only 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds this season. But with James Wiseman (Achilles) and Isaiah Jackson (Achilles) both sidelined, the team needed another big. While Bryant won't start unless Myles Turner isn't available, he should see more playing time in Indiana. Still, unless he finds himself with the first five, his contributions could be sporadic.

Thomas Bryant Staying In Miami

Free-agent center Thomas Bryant agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Miami Heat. Bryant, the 2017 No. 42 overall pick, recently opted out of his $2.8 million player option. However, it doesn't appear he drew much interest on the open market, so he'll remain in Miami for another season. The 26-year-old averaged 5.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 38 games in 2023-24. Bryant will likely mirror those numbers during the 2024-25 campaign, meaning he won't have much value for fantasy managers.

Thomas Bryant Will Miss Three Games

Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant will serve a three-game suspension for his involvement in a melee during Friday's meeting with the New Orleans Pelicans. The 26-year-old has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds this season. However, along with his lack of production, he has routinely been held off the floor by head coach Erik Spoelstra. As a result, Bryant's suspension won't have much of an impact on fantasy managers, considering he hasn't done much in any statistical area this season.

Thomas Bryant Ejected Without Logging Any Minutes

Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant was ejected from Friday's game against New Orleans without logging any playing time. A foul on Zion Williamson early in the fourth quarter sparked an altercation, and things got very heated between Bryant and Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado. Both players threw punches at each other and will likely receive a suspension following the incident. Bryant has played just seven games since the turn of the year, so Miami shouldn't have any issues coping with his absence. The 26-year-old big man has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 10.4 minutes in 25 games for the season.

Thomas Bryant Disappears On Friday

Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant scored four points in Friday's loss to the Spurs. He added five rebounds and turned the ball over three times. The 26-year-old narrowly missed a double-double in the exhibition with Charlotte on Tuesday night. However, he cooled off in this one. Nevertheless, the 2017 second-round pick should see routine playing time behind Bam Adebayo during the 2023-24 campaign. He may also start at times if Miami needs bigger bodies underneath the rim. As a result, Bryant should play considerably better than he did with the Lakers and Nuggets last season, meaning he's worth adding late in fantasy drafts.

Thomas Bryant Aims To Help Heat With His Versatility

Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant sees himself as a valuable asset for the Eastern Conference champions with his versatility. "I feel like I can help this team based on what I've seen as an interior presence, interior scoring, my versatility out there to be able to shoot the three and make mid-range jump shots and score at the rim," Bryant told Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. "But I feel like the versatility that I will bring to the table will really help the team in a great way." Bryant, who signed a two-year deal with the Heat this offseason, will be firmly stuck behind Bam Adebayo in Miami, but his ability to shoot from outside could also lead to a few minutes next to him, which would boost his fantasy value.

Heat Have Been Long-Time Admirers Of Thomas Bryant

Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant will likely feel very welcome in South Florida, with head coach Erik Spoelstra admitting that he has kept the big man in high regard ever since Bryant had a pre-draft workout with the Heat. "Thomas is somebody that we worked out in the draft when he came out in the draft and we were a fan of his then and then we've also kept an eye on him over the years, mostly when he was with Washington. And then his time with L.A., I thought was really important," Spoelstra told Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. "You could see how he could be effective in our system and how he can play with multiple guys. He's big, he's physical, he plays with a motor and he can also stretch the floor. So he can have a presence at the rim and in the paint, but he also can space the floor and be efficient behind the three-point line. We're excited to be able to add him to our roster and add some depth to our frontcourt and some versatile depth." Bryant will work as Bam Adebayo's backup in Miami, which limits his fantasy value.

Thomas Bryant Expected To Play On Monday

Denver Nuggets center Thomas Bryant (ankle/hip) is currently listed as probable for the team's contest against the Toronto Raptors. The 25-year-old has had a very inconsistent role since joining the team, so his fantasy value is hard to predict game-to-game. He's dealing with both an ankle sprain and a hip contusion so he may not play that many minutes if the pain is too much. Fantasy managers will want to look elsewhere for a center as Bryant is only averaging 4.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game since coming to Denver.

Thomas Bryant To Make Team Debut

Denver Nuggets center Thomas Bryant is set to make his team debut against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. He was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to Denver on Thursday. The expectation is that he'll be the primary backup center to Nikola Jokic. He'll offer much more upside than Zeke Nnaji or DeAndre Jordan. Both of those players will hardly be fantasy options with Bryant in the mix. The 25-year-old is still coming off the bench, so his value is limited, but he's worth a look in deep leagues.

Thomas Bryant Comes Back To Life

Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant was one of the stars of the show in Sunday's 121-112 comeback victory over Portland, helping the team win from a 25-point halftime deficit with a season-high 31 points and 14 rebounds. He got hot from deep with a 4-for-5 effort and ended up missing just three of his 15 shots in total. Bryant also had one assist and one block in 33 minutes of action. The big performance came after Bryant had even failed to get into double figures in scoring in three straight contests. It was great to see Bryant regaining his form, but unfortunately for him, he doesn't have many opportunities left to shine anymore, with Anthony Davis (foot) lurking in the background and nearing his return.
