Victor Wembanyama Held to Four Rebounds in Game 3 Loss

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama scored a team-high 26 points in Friday's 123-108 Game 3 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, going 8-for-15 from the field, 2-for-5 on threes, and 8-for-10 at the line. The Defensive Player of the Year added four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks, but the rebounding total stands out. Oklahoma City made a concerted effort to keep him off the glass and largely succeeded, holding him to four boards after he piled up 24 in the Game 1 win. He still led all five San Antonio starters in scoring, with Devin Vassell chipping in 20. Wembanyama remains a do-everything fantasy anchor, but the Thunder's game plan has dragged his counting stats below the ceiling he flashed to open the series.

Victor Wembanyama Headlines 2025-26 All-Defensive First Team

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama will head into Game 3 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night knowing he has been named to the NBA's All-Defensive First Team for the second time in his career. He also earned the honor during his rookie campaign in 2023-24. The French star didn't make the cut last year after appearing in only 46 games. This season, Wembanyama was the only unanimous selection for the All-Defensive First Team. It doesn't come as a surprise, given that Wembanyama was also named the first-ever unanimous Defensive Player of the Year this season. Wembanyama led the NBA in blocks for a third consecutive campaign, swatting away 3.1 shots a night. Rudy Gobert (Minnesota Timberwolves), Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder), Ausar Thompson (Detroit Pistons), and Derrick White (Boston Celtics) were also named to the All-Defensive First Team.

Victor Wembanyama Records Eighth Postseason Double-Double

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama produced another high-level all-around performance in Game 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, finishing a 122-113 loss with 21 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, one steal, and four blocks. He went 3-for-7 from deep and made exactly half of 16 field-goal attempts, collecting his eighth postseason double-double. Two games into the Western Conference Finals, Wembanyama is averaging some mind-boggling numbers. He has notched 31.0 points, 20.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3.5 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game. The French phenom has performed exceptionally well on the road and could put up even bigger numbers in more comfortable settings during Games 3 and 4 on home court.

Victor Wembanyama Dominates Game 1 Against Thunder

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama kicked off the Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a huge performance on Monday, amassing 41 points, 24 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three blocks in a 122-115 double-overtime win. The 22-year-old became the youngest player in NBA history to record a 40-point, 20-rebound performance in the playoffs, and the first player since Wilt Chamberlain to have a 40-20 game in his Conference Finals debut. Wembanyama went 14-for-25 from the field and 12-for-13 at the line, making one of his two attempts from deep. A big shock could be on the cards in this series if Wembanyama keeps up this level of play for the rest of the way.

Victor Wembanyama Tallies 19 Points in Friday's Win

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama had a quiet outing by his standards in Friday's Game 6 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, totaling 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three blocks in a 139-109 win. Wembanyama missed both his three-point attempts, but he went a good 6-for-11 overall from the field and had a 7-for-9 record at the charity stripe. On Friday, Wembanyama was able to take a lighter load as San Antonio's backcourt powered the team to a series-clinching victory. Stephon Castle, De'Aaron Fox, and Dylan Harper combined for nearly half of the team's points (68). The Spurs will face Oklahoma City in the Conference Finals, a team they have beaten in four of five meetings this season. San Antonio has dominated this matchup despite Wembanyama's modest averages of 18.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Victor Wembanyama Leads Spurs to Big Win in Game 5

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama was once again unstoppable for the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 on Tuesday night, stuffing the stat sheet with 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks in a big 126-97 win. Wembanyama finished 9-for-16 from the field and 2-for-5 from downtown, becoming only the third Spurs player in history to post a 20-point, 10-rebound half in a playoff contest. The French superstar was clearly playing with a chip on his shoulder after being ejected early in Game 4 for a flagrant 2 foul. Aside from Game 4, Wembanyama has recorded a double-double in each game of the series, averaging 24.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 5.5 blocks.

Victor Wembanyama Won't be Suspended Following Game 4 Ejection

San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama won't face further discipline following his ejection from Sunday's Game 4. Wembanyama was ejected from Sunday's game after receiving a Flagrant 2 foul for elbowing Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid in the head. The superstar center won't face a fine or any kind of suspension. He only played 12 minutes before getting tossed from the contest. The Spurs would end up losing the game, but they will have Wembanyama back for Game 5 on Tuesday. His return to the rotation will mean less playing time for Luke Kornet and Carter Bryant.

Victor Wembanyama Ejected in Game 4 Loss

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama was ejected from Sunday's Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves after being assessed a Flagrant 2 foul with 8:39 remaining in the second quarter. According to the Associated Press through NBA.com, Wembanyama threw an elbow toward Naz Reid, and the upgraded foul triggered an automatic ejection. He finished with four points, four rebounds, and three fouls in 13 minutes as San Antonio fell 114-109, tying the series 2-2. After posting 39 points on 13-for-18 shooting in Game 3, Wembanyama's early exit was a brutal fantasy result, though Spurs coach Mitch Johnson reportedly doubted he would face a suspension before Game 5.

Victor Wembanyama Notches Another Double-Double

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama finished Wednesday's 133-95 Game 2 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 19-point, 15-rebound double-double. In 26 minutes on the floor, he added 15 rebounds, one steal, and two blocks. Wembanyama once again filled the box score despite a lackluster 7-for-15 effort from the field. For the second consecutive game, he struggled massively from downtown, going 2-for-7. The French superstar now boasts a four-game double-double streak, which includes one triple-double. Wembanyama is relishing his first opportunity to play playoff basketball, making an impact in all areas. Across six outings, he has averaged 19.0 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 5.0 blocks in 29.7 minutes per game.
