Julius Peppers News
Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers will sign a one-year, $5 million deal to return to the Panthers, per NFL.com. Peppers had 11 sacks last season and the future Hall of Famer can still rush the quarterback with efficiency. In his career, he has 10 seasons of 10 sacks or more and 154.5 in his career. He may not play every down anymore but still makes an impact and solidifies the Panthers defensive front. This is a home run for the 38-year-old and the Panthers, who both get what they want.
Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers is leaning toward playing another season in 2018, but he doesn't want to commit yet, according to a source close to Peppers. Further complicating matters is the fact that he had shoulder surgery after the season. Despite being 38 years old, Peppers remains effective and tied for the team lead with 11 sacks last season as a part-time player. That's great production for a part-time player, but Peppers will be hard-pressed to return those sack numbers again in 2018 if he continues to be play part-time snaps.
Carolina Panthers impending free-agent defensive end Julius Peppers (shoulder) is recovering from right shoulder surgery. The exact nature of the operation is unclear. Peppers dealt with the issue during the season but did not miss any time. Stunningly, Peppers has missed just two games with injury in 16 NFL seasons. Now 38, Peppers is undecided if he will return for 2018.
