Denver Broncos running back Dwayne Washington (illness) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. He was listed as questionable after being a late addition to the injury report on Friday. Washington has played just one snap on offense this season, spending most of his time on special teams. As a result, his absence in Week 12 will have no fantasy implications.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, free-agent running back Dwayne Washington agreed to a contract with the Broncos on Wednesday. The 2016 seventh-round pick has appeared in 83 games during his career, totaling 592 yards and a touchdown off 168 carries. He played for Sean Payton for a few years in New Orleans, so there's a connection. But with Javonte Williams (knee) and Samaje Perine in the equation, Washington isn't forecasted to be a productive fantasy option in 2023-24, assuming he's in uniform come Week 1.
Dwayne Washington, Eno Benjamin Inactive For Saints
New Orleans Saints running backs Dwayne Washington (illness) and Eno Benjamin are both inactive on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. The Saints claimed Benjamin off waivers from the Houston Texans on Wednesday, but he's not ready to be active on game day yet. Mark Ingram II (knee) is out for the season, so with both Washington and Benjamin not playing on Sunday, veteran David Johnson is slated to serve as Alvin Kamara's primary backup against the Falcons. Johnson won't have any standalone fantasy value in just his second game of the season. He had one carry for minus-four yards and caught a pass for 11 yards in Week 11. Johnson hasn't scored a touchdown since 2020 with the Texans.
New Orleans Saints running back Dwayne Washington (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Buccaneers. Under normal circumstances, Washington's status for any game wouldn't mean a thing. However, with Alvin Kamara (ribs) and Mark Ingram II (ankle) uncertain for Week 2, Washington could be in line for a more prominent role. Nevertheless, Tony Jones Jr. may also get some touches with the Saints' backfield banged up. Yet, if Kamara is good to go, everyone else's fantasy potential will drop significantly.
New Orleans Saints running back Dwayne Washington turned nine rushes into 19 yards while adding three receptions for 18 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 17-13 loss to the Houston Texans. He had a strong preseason showing, catching a nine-yard touchdown pass from Andy Dalton while compiling 21 yards after contact. Washington will look to make a more significant impact this year. Washington is fighting for a spot on the running back depth chart behind Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram. The seventh-year back looks to capitalize on a new opportunity with new head coach Dennis Allen. Washington should see more run in the preseason while Kamara's legal situation works itself out.
The New Orleans Saints re-signed running back Dwayne Washington to an undisclosed one-year deal on Monday, bringing him back for a fifth season. In 14 games (no starts) for the Saints last year, Washington had only four carries for 16 yards while catching both of his targets for 12 yards receiving. He has 47 rushing attempts for 245 yards and no touchdowns in 54 games (no starts) in his four seasons in New Orleans. The 27-year-old was originally a seventh-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2016 out of Washington. He will continue to be off the fantasy radar while serving as RB depth in New Orleans behind Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram II and Tony Jones Jr.
The New Orleans Saints agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal to re-sign running back Dwayne Washington on Wednesday. Washington has been with the Saints the last three seasons, but he's mainly been a special teams contributor, leaving him with basically no fantasy appeal. The 26-year-old runner has seen just 16 carries in the last two seasons with the Saints, including eight carries for 15 yards in 2020. In his three seasons with New Orleans, he has 43 carries for 229 yards and no touchdowns, while also catching one pass for six yards. Unless injuries wreak havoc upon the Saints backfield in 2021, Washington won't be on anybody's fantasy roster. But he's useful real-life depth behind Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray.
The New Orleans Saints activated running backs Latavius Murray and Dwayne Washington and fullback Michael Burton from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday. It's good news for the Saints running back room after all but Ty Montgomery was forced to sit in Week 17 against the Panthers as high-risk close contacts of Alvin Kamara, who tested positive for COVID-19. Kamara also has a chance to clear the league's protocols and be available for Sunday's wild-card game against the Bears, but if he isn't, Murray would suddenly become a highly coveted fantasy option for fantasy managers playing in postseason leagues. Chicago's defense is no slouch, but Murray could even have some cheap DFS appeal if Kamara is active.
New Orleans Saints running back Dwayne Washington carried the ball eight times for 36 yards in Friday's preseason loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Washington and rookie Devine Ozigbo appear to be in a battle for the team's third running back role, and Washington out-touched Ozigbo eight to four in this one. It's the first preseason game, so don't read too much into that. Washington's path to fantasy relevance lies in him finding a way to not only beat Ozigbo but also Latavius Murray, so he's best ignored at this point, though we're likely to see him have some more preseason work as we move forward.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Seth Roberts and running back Dwayne Washington are both healthy inactives in Week 3 against the Dolphins. Both Roberts and Washington are currently buried on the depth chart and have no business being on any fantasy rosters. Roberts has four catches on five targets for 54 yards and a score in the first two weeks of the season, but he's lost his role with Martavis Bryant back. Washington has yet to play this season.
