Earl Thomas III News
Free-agent safety Earl Thomas was arrested on Saturday. The veteran had a warrant issued at the end of April for violating a protective court order two or more times within 12 months, a third-degree felony, after allegedly sending threatening text messages to a woman. The 33-year-old spent nearly his entire career with the Seahawks before playing his most recent season with the Baltimore Ravens in 2019. Thomas, a Super Bowl champion with seven Pro Bowl appearances under his belt, had recently been lobbying for a comeback. However, his chances for a return were slim already, so this latest hurdle likely won't do him any favors.
Free-agent safety Earl Thomas allegedly violated a court order after sending threatening messages to a woman. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Thomas hasn't played since 2019, although he has recently been lobbying to make a return. The three-time All-Pro played most of his career in Seattle before spending a year with the Ravens, totaling 497 tackles and 30 interceptions throughout his career. While the 32-year-old seemingly already has an uphill battle to get signed by a club, the latest situation certainly won't help his chances. Nonetheless, regardless of how Thomas' recent legal troubles play out, it's unlikely he'll get much interest from IDP managers ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Free-agent safety Earl Thomas reportedly wants to resume his career and join a team in 2022. The veteran safety hasn't played since the 2019 season with the Baltimore Ravens. He was released by the organization in August of 2020 for conduct detrimental to the team. Thomas was reportedly fighting his teammates in training camp and had a domestic incident with his wife as well. The 32-year-old would like to resume his career, but it's uncertain if anyone is interested in him. He is a seven-time Pro Bowl safety, but is well past his prime and could be more of a headache than help to anyone.
