The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms on a deal with wide receiver Malik Turner. The 26-year-old has spent each of the last two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He didn't play much in 2020, but actually started seeing decent action in 2021. Turner finished with 12 receptions, 149 receiving yards, and three touchdowns in 16 games last season. He was able to make a handful of flashy plays, but is nothing more than a depth player. Possibly, Turner will be the No. 4 option with the 49ers, but shouldn't hold much fantasy value.

Through seven games in 2021, Johnson hauled in nine of 19 targets for 160 yards. Meanwhile, Turner enjoyed some late-game action, too, catching 12 passes for 149 yards and three scores. It remains to be seen if either player signs with San Francisco, but even if they do, it would only be for a depth role. Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittleand Jauan Jennings have asserted themselves as key pieces of the offense, which is already run-oriented.

The Cardinals top two receivers are DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore, but Turner could certainly compete with Antoine Wesley for the No. 3 role on the depth chart.

Turner appeared in six games with Dallas last season, but he did not so much as log a target, rather contributing on special teams. After having a smattering of a receiving role with the Seahawks in 2019, Turner does not appear to be an immediate contributor for the Cowboys, even with Amari Cooper (ribs) banged up. Elsewhere on offense, running back Nick Ralston and tight end Jeremy Sprinkle were elevated off the practice squad to serve as depth pieces.
The Dallas Cowboys re-signed wide receiver Malik Turner to an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday. The 25-year-old was active for six games on special teams last year and recorded two tackles in the process. Turner was a core special teams player for the Seattle Seahawks from 2018-19 before he joined the Cowboys last September off waivers from the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys also waived center Marcus Henry, tight end Cole Hikutini, wide receiver Jon'Vea Johnson and wide receiver Chris Lacy on Friday. In three NFL seasons, Turner has just 17 receptions on 25 targets for 265 yards and one touchdown in 27 games (three starts), so don't look for him to have a role for Dallas in 2021.
For the second day in a row, the Green Bay Packers have added a wide receiver. This time, it's former Seahawks wideout Malik Turner, who had 15 catches for 245 yards last season. Turner's much more likely to play a role on this team than the other addition, Travis Fulgham, but he still faces an uphill battle to be a fantasy-relevant part of this roster in 2020. Still, Green Bay is fairly shallow at receiver, so Turner could end up as the team's No. 3 wide receiver by the time the regular season rolls around.
