49ers Re-Sign Jeffery Wilson, Ross Dwelley, Others

The San Francisco 49ers re-signed exclusive-rights free-agent running back Jeffery Wilson, tight end Ross Dwelley, quarterback Nick Mullens, offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill and cornerback Emmanuel Moseley on Thursday. Wilson appeared in 10 games last year and had 27 carries for 105 yards and four touchdowns. He's unlikely to see much playing time again in 2020 while being buried on the depth chart in San Fran's crowded backfield. Dwelley played in a full season and started six games, catching 15 passes for 91 yards and two scores. He's behind All-Pro George Kittle and doesn't carry and fantasy value. Mullens is the backup to Jimmy Garoppolo and also isn't a factor in fantasy.

Ross Dwelley A Solid Week 12 Dart Throw If Kittle Is Out

San Francisco 49ers tight end Ross Dwelley scored two touchdowns in Week 11 against the Cardinals. He was targeted five times in the game and had four catches for 14 yards. He could be a red zone target for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo once again this week if starting tight end George Kittle (knee) is out. Kittle owners would be smart to grab Dwelley as Kittle insurance as Kittle could be headed for a game-time decision this week and Dwelley would be an excellent fallback option if Kittle is ruled out. If Kittle suits up, Dwelley has no value.

Ross Dwelley Makes Good With Two Scores

San Francisco 49ers tight end Ross Dwelley turned four grabs into 14 yards and two touchdowns in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals. With star tight end George Kittle (ankle, knee) banged up, Dwelley assumed the starting role and cashed in on his opportunities. Dwelley played meaningful snaps but obviously lacks the upside possessed by Kittle. Hes a touchdown-dependent streamer in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers if Kittle misses another game.
