The Carolina Panthers signed free-agent running back Travaris Cadet to a one-year deal on Monday, according to a league source. The Panthers also cut C.J. Anderson on Monday, so Cadet will be third on the depth chart behind Christian McCaffrey and Cameron Artis-Payne. McCaffrey is a true workhorse back this year, so CAP and Cadet won't have any fantasy value unless McCaffrey is injured.
Free-agent running back Travaris Cadet signed to a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Cadet was carted off the field with a dislocated ankle on Christmas Eve but is already said to be running at full speed. He will serve as depth behind LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory. Cadet saw work in passing situations particularly when Mike Tolbert was a healthy scratch during the final weeks of the season, but Cadet likely will not have a role since the team just handed Ivory $3.25 million guaranteed.
Travaris Cadet, Andre Holmes Land On Injured Reserve
Buffalo Bills running back Travaris Cadet (ankle) and wide receiver Andre Holmes (neck) were placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, ending their season. In a corresponding move, the team waived defensive tackle Deandre Coleman. Holmes was a non-factor in 2017, catching just 13 passes for 120 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. Cadet suffered a gruesome dislocated ankle in Week 16 after rushing for 96 yards on 23 carries in nine games in 2017. Mike Tolbert should finish out the year as running back LeSean McCoy's main backup.
Buffalo Bills backup running back Travaris Cadet (leg) suffered a serious right leg injury in Week 16 against the Patriots and was put into an air cast. He was carted off the field with what looked like a gruesome broken leg. Cadet had taken over as LeSean McCoy's main backup in recent weeks, seeing exactly four carries in each of the last three weeks. With him out, expect Mike Tolbert to serve as the main backup heading into Week 17.
Buffalo Bills running back Travaris Cadet (concussion) has cleared the league's concussion protocol and is expected to be ready to play in Week 14 against the Colts, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Cadet has been serving as LeSean McCoy's backup in recent weeks with Mike Tolbert (hamstring) out, but with Tolbert set to return this weekend, it's unclear if Cadet will continue to see work in the passing game. Either way, Cadet has not been fantasy viable.
Kelvin Benjamin, Charles Clay, Travaris Cadet All Practicing
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (knee), tight end Charles Clay (knee) and running back Travaris Cadet (concussion) all were participating in practice Thursday. Benjmain has now practiced on back-to-back days, making it likely that he'll return to action in Week 14 in a great matchup against the Colts. However, who is starting under center could make a big difference for him, with quarterback Tyrod Taylor (knee) questionable to suit up. Clay typically sits a day of practice, so his absence Wednesday was no surprise. Even if Taylor plays, Clay is a low-end TE1 streamer with little upside. Cadet is making progress in the concussion protocol, but with running back Mike Tolbert (hamstring) on track to make his return this weekend, Cadet's temporary role as LeSean McCoy's primary backup may be coming to an end.
Travaris Cadet Misses Practice, Mike Tolbert Limited
Buffalo Bills running back Travaris Cadet (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, while running back Mike Tolbert (hamstring) was limited. Cadet is in danger of missing Week 14 against the Colts, and Tolbert could return to backup duties if Cadet is forced out. Neither running back has standalone fantasy value behind workhorse LeSean McCoy.
Buffalo Bills running back Travaris Cadet (concussion) is in the league's concussion protocol after Week 13. Cadet has served as the change-of-pace back behind LeSean McCoy the last three weeks with Mike Tolbert (hamstring) out, but he hasn't gained any fantasy momentum outside of the deepest PPR leagues. If Cadet can't play in Week 14, the Bills will hope they can get Tolbert back on the field as the backup.
The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent running back Travaris Cadet on Saturday and placed running back Taiwan Jones (arm) on Injured Reserve in a corresponding move. Cadet was signed as running back depth with Jones done for the year. He played in just three games with the Jets this year and saw only one carry. Cadet will not be fantasy relevant unless LeSean McCoy and/or Mike Tolbert are injured.
The New York Jets have released running back Travaris Cadet, ending an uneventful few weeks on the team. Cadet was signed in late-September after injuries to running backs Bilal Powell and Matt Forte. For now the entire Gang Green backfield is back to full health and so theres no need for Cadet with rookie running back Elijah McGuire serving as third on the depth chart. In three games with the Jets, Cadet carried the ball three times for 26 yards while catching one pass for three yards. At only 28 years old, Cadet should latch on in time somewhere in a depth chart move. He very likely wont carry any fantasy value if he is signed, though.
