Tyron Smith News

Tyron Smith To Miss Rest Of The Season

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith (neck) will miss the rest of the 2020 season, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Smith will under surgery on his neck. The 29-year-old is one of the best left tackles in the NFL, so this is a huge loss to an already beat up offensive line in Dallas. Brandon Knight is expected to move into the starting role on quarterback Dak Prescott's blind side moving forward. With La'el Collins also out for the year, Dallas' offensive line will need to step up if they want to continue putting up points in bunches against their opponents. It's bad news for Prescott, but he continues to be a must-start as an elite QB1.

Tyron Smith Expected To Play Against Browns

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith (neck) is expected to play in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns. Smith hasn't played since Week 1, though head coach Mike McCarthy said that he's "done everything that was set out for him." Smith could make things run more smoothly for the Cowboys offense, as he remains one of the better blockers in the league. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott both get a slight boost from the presence of Smith, though they were auto-starts prior to this news anyway.

Tyron Smith On Track To Play Against Browns

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith (neck) is "on track to play" in Week 4 against the Browns, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. "He did everything yesterday," McCarthy added. "I think we're definitely heading in the direction of him playing on Sunday." Smith has missed the last two games with a neck injury that popped up ahead of Week 2. Despite a beat up offensive line, the Cowboys have allowed just six sacks in three games, and they've produced the league's top offense at 490.7 yards per game. They rank eighth in points per game with a 29.3 average. Getting Smith back is great news for quarterback Dak Prescott, who will once again be a high-end QB1 this weekend.
