Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Tyron Smith (back) hasn't been cleared to practice at OTAs. Smith has a long history of back and neck issues, so the organization is going to be careful with him. In fact, Smith hasn't played a full season since 2015, so the Cowboys certainly don't want to push the 31-year-old too hard. The Cowboys drafted Matt Waletzko in the fifth round as insurance for Smith. Although, the Cowboys would much rather have the eight-time Pro Bowl tackle healthy. It sounds like the plan is to limit Smith as much as possible before training camp.

The Dallas Cowboys expect left tackle Tyron Smith (ankle) to play in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday for the Thanksgiving game. "Barring some unforeseen setback this week, he should be ready to play this Thursday," vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. The Cowboys don't see Smith's injury as something that will linger for the rest of the year. The 30-year-old has missed Dallas' last three games, so it's something to look for to for this offense after a disappointing performance in the Week 11 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Terence Steele has been protecting quarterback Dak Prescott's blind side the last three games with Smith unavailable.

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith (ankle) is not expected to suit up on Sunday afternoon, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Smith's multi-game absence extends into Week 11 and will hurt the Cowboys in a crucial matchup against the Chiefs. Dallas hosts the Raiders on Thursday for a Thanksgiving Day battle, so it's possible that Smith doesn't return to action until Week 13.
