Anton Forsberg Escapes With Overtime Victory

Los Angeles Kings goaltender Anton Forsberg stopped 28 of 32 shots on goal in Monday's 5-4 overtime victory against the Blue Jackets. Forsberg received plenty of goal support in the contest to secure the two points for the Kings, who are just outside of the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference playoff race. Forsberg has posted an 11-9-5 record to go along with two shutouts, a 2.74 goals against average, and a .903 save percentage on the season, but he is mainly a streaming option for fantasy purposes.

Anton Forsberg Earns Victory On Monday

Ottawa Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced en route to defeating the Nashville Predators on Monday evening. The Predators opened the scoring in the second frame when left wing Filip Forsberg found the back of the net on a wrist shot. Later in the third, Forsberg would surrender his second goal of the evening, this time on the power-play to Jonathan Marchessault. The 32-year-old shut the door for the remainder of the game to earn the victory. This was a nice bounce-back for Forsberg, as even though he won his last start, he allowed four goals in that outing. Over his previous six games, the former seventh-round selection holds a 4-1 record with a .923% SV and a 2.16 GAA. Forsberg will continue to operate as the No. 2 option behind Linus Ullmark, who was recently activated off long-term injured reserve.

Anton Forsberg Snaps Losing Skid On Sunday

Ottawa Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg got back in the win column on Sunday in his victory over the New Jersey Devils. The 32-year-old netminder stopped 25 of the 26 shots he faced. His lone blemish came in the second period when Tomas Tatar scored his fourth goal of the season on a backhand. Forsberg entered this contest with a poor 0-2-1 record with a .861% SV and a 3.63 GAA over his previous three games. In addition, Leevi Merilainen has taken over the starting crease as he made five straight starts following Forsberg's three-game losing streak. However, after Forsberg's bounce back on Sunday, he may begin to see more starting opportunities. Anton Forsberg Good To Go For The Start Of Season

Ottawa Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg (knees) is back healthy again and ready to go for the start of the season. The Swedish netminder was forced to end the 2023-23 campaign early after tearing the MCL in both of his knees in a game against Edmonton on Feb. 11. "I've been back to 100 percent for a long time," Forsberg told Ian Mendes of The Athletic. "I would have been back last year if we made the playoffs." Forsberg went 11-11-2 with the Senators last season before getting injured, registering a 3.26 goals-against average with a .902 save percentage and a couple of shutouts. He will share the crease with his good friend Joonas Korpisalo in 2023-24. "I think at the end of the day, it's going to come down to who is playing the best. And that's how it should be," Forsberg said of the competition between the two. "If (Korpisalo) plays better, he should play. If I play better, I should play. That's the way I look at it. This is a team game and the best players should be playing. And I'm looking forward to it."
