Blake Coleman Enjoys A Three-Point Night

Calgary Flames winger Blake Coleman enjoyed his best game of the season Monday against the Flyers, recording three points. He picked up a pair of first-period assists and was among the goal-scorers as the team wrapped up a 5-2 with a couple of empty-netters. Coleman now sits on nine points for the year, with five of the points coming in the past four games. It's not been a very prolific campaign so far for the 30-year-old, but Coleman currently skates with Jonathan Huberdeau and his presence has given him a lift. The Flames winger will look to score in a third consecutive game Wednesday versus Pittsburgh.

Blake Coleman Fires Seven Shots On Goal Friday

Calgary Flames center Blake Coleman had several quality scoring chances on Friday versus the Anaheim Ducks. More importantly, he found the back of the net 3:49 into the second period to tie the game at one. Coleman also fired seven shots on goal and delivered a couple of hits as well. The center had struggled recently with a point drought that reached eight games. A significant aspect is this. Coleman now has two instances of four or more shots on goal in his last three games. The forward is still below his 11% shooting percentage which means he may be due for a few more goals in the future.

Blake Coleman Has Multi-Point Outing With Eight Shots

Calgary Flames winger Blake Coleman was responsible for eight of the team's 32 shots in Monday's 5-1 victory over the Rangers and finished the game with a goal and an assist. The 29-year-old also handed out three hits and registered one blocked shot in 17:32 of action. Coleman is plus-four through his four first outings as a Flame and has tallied 17 total shots with 10 hits. He'll be back on the ice three more times this week, including against his former team New Jersey on Tuesday.

Blake Coleman Makes Flames Debut Monday Night

Calgary Flames winger Blake Coleman will make his team debut in Monday's meeting with Anaheim. The 29-year-old missed the team's season opener against Edmonton due to a suspension he picked up during the preseason. Coleman was signed to a six-year deal in the summer following his successful run in Tampa. He collected 31 points in 55 regular-season games last season and delivered 109 hits. Coleman will be on the third line Monday night, but fantasy managers should keep an eye on him as he also spent time on the top line during the preseason and will have every chance to work his way up the lineup.

Blake Coleman Suspended One Game

Calgary Flames forward Blake Coleman has been banned for one preseason and one regular season contest following a boarding penalty in his team's preseason game on Wednesday night. The 29-year-old, who is coming off two consecutive Stanley Cup Championships with the Lightning, inked a six-year, $29.4 million ($4.9 mil AAV) with Calgary over the summer. Coleman will miss the team's season-opener on October 16 but should make his Flames debut on October 18. The Texas native (who is 41% owned in Yahoo! leagues) recorded 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists), a plus-15 rating, 122 shots and 109 hits in 55 contests in 2020-2021

Blake Coleman Headed To Calgary

Blake Coleman, an unrestricted free agent, signed a massive six-year contract with the Calgary Flames. The late-bloomer will come with a $4.9 million annual cap hit to fill a middle-six role with the club. The 29-year-old is a veteran of just five NHL seasons. He's coming off a season with the Tampa Bay Lightning that saw him score 14 goals and add 31 points in 55 games while average more than 15 minutes per game. Coleman is known for finishing his checks and playing a gritty style of hockey. He's also taken more than 200 shots per season twice in his career and has surpassed the 20-goal mark twice. He'll have some value in regular fantasy leagues but will get a boost in leagues that value hits. Coleman will also likely see more ice time in Calgary than he saw in Tampa Bay.

Blake Coleman Continues Strong Finish

Tampa Bay Lightning winger Blake Coleman bagged his 14th goal of the campaign in Friday's 5-2 loss against Dallas, providing the first goal for the team before Alex Barre-Boulet struck on a power play. Coleman has come up with very good depth scoring for the team throughout the season, and he's been especially hot over the final stretch with six goals and nine points in his past eight outings. The 29-year-old boasts 31 points with 115 shots and 101 hits ahead of the team's final two regular-season games against Florida. Coleman, who skates on the third line with Yanni Gourde and Barclay Goodrow, has collected four points in six prior meetings with the Panthers this season.
