Joel Eriksson Ek OK for Sunday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (undisclosed) will suit up on Sunday against the Washington Capitals, The Athletic's Joe Smith reports. On Friday, it was reported that Eriksson Ek was being evaluated by team doctors after being hurt in Thursday's clash against the Islanders. He was back on the ice Saturday, and Wild head coach John Hynes said Eriksson Ek is "good to go" for Sunday's matchup. Eriksson Ek has five goals and seven assists in 15 games this season, averaging more than one hit per game. He's on a four-game point streak and will look to extend his goal streak to three games on Sunday.

Joel Eriksson Ek Evaluated for Injury

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (undisclosed) is under evaluation for an injury, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. The Swedish forward was hurt in Thursday's loss to the Islanders and met with team doctors on Friday. It's unclear whether he will get the green light to play Sunday against Washington. Eriksson Ek has a four-game point streak, scoring in three of those games. Overall, he has five goals and 12 points in 15 games this season. Danila Yurov and Ryan Hartman are candidates to take over first-line center duties if Eriksson Ek isn't healthy enough to play Sunday.

Joel Eriksson Ek Cleared for Training Camp

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (heel) is healthy for the start of training camp, The Athletic's Michael Russo reports. The Swedish forward dealt with a heel injury late last season, missing Minnesota's final five postseason games. Having him back for the start of the new campaign is great news for the Wild. Eriksson Ek is a strong two-way player who finished last season with 51 points (19 goals, 32 assists), 194 SOG, and 106 hits, and a plus-16 rating in 70 outings. He has averaged 0.57 points and 1.77 hits per game in his NHL career.

Joel Eriksson Ek Misses Second Round Due to Heel Injury

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek couldn't play in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against Colorado due to a heel injury. He broke the heel bone in his right foot during Minnesota's series-clinching Game 6 victory over Dallas in the first round. Although Eriksson Ek took part in the morning skate ahead of Game 3, his return doesn't appear to have been on the cards against Colorado. "You want to play," Eriksson Ek said. "I just couldn't do it. Too painful to skate." The Swedish forward also missed 12 regular-season games this year, finishing with 51 points (19 goals, 32 assists). Eriksson Ek is a strong fantasy contributor when healthy and will remain a core piece of the Wild offense in 2026-27.

Joel Eriksson Ek to Remain Out Wednesday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) won't play in Game 5 against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. He hasn't traveled to Denver due to a lower-body injury, which has kept him out for the entire series. The Swedish forward has been listed as day-to-day, but his absence from the trip suggests he isn't yet close to returning. Until Eriksson Ek is ready to rejoin the action, Danila Yurov is poised to continue in a second-line role. He has been among Minnesota's most productive players in the second-round series, with one goal and two assists in four contests.

Joel Eriksson Ek Remains Out Monday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) won't play in Game 4 against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday, Dylan Loucks of The Hockey News reports. He hasn't seen any action in the series so far due to a lower-body injury. In Round 1 against the Dallas Stars, Eriksson Ek amassed three goals and two assists, averaging 23:44 of ice time. His absence has left a huge hole on Minnesota's frontline, but the team managed to win Game 3 without him and will try to do so again on Monday night. Danila Yurov looks set to remain on the second line and has been productive in the series, notching two assists.

Joel Eriksson Ek Not Ready to Return Saturday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) will remain out on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. The Swedish forward is close to returning from a lower-body injury, but he won't be available for a third consecutive game on Saturday night. As a result, Danila Yurov will continue in a second-line role and skate with the second power-play unit. Yurov has recorded assists in each of the first two games against Colorado, earning his first career postseason points. In six playoff appearances, the 22-year-old Russian rookie has also registered five SOG and nine hits.

Joel Eriksson Ek to Be a Game-Time Decision Saturday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) is expected to be a game-time decision on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. He has missed the first two games of the series due to a lower-body injury, but Eriksson Ek could return for Game 3 after skating on Friday. His return would be a welcome boost for Minnesota. The Swedish forward has amassed five points (three goals, two assists) in six playoff games this year. If he's ready to play in Saturday's contest, Eriksson Ek will likely replace Danila Yurov in the top six and be an option on the power play.

Joel Eriksson Ek Will Miss First Two Games of Colorado Series

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) did not travel to Colorado on Sunday. His lower-body injury will cause him to miss at least the first two games of the series against the Avalanche. The hope is that the extra rest between Games 2 and 3 will be a huge asset. Eriksson Ek got banged up and had not been quite right the last two games of the Dallas series. Almost an extra week's worth of rest could prove extremely valuable. It does seem that Eriksson Ek is likely to return for Game 3 on Saturday, but do not be so sure. After all, injuries often take a life of their own in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Joel Eriksson Ek Questionable for Game 1 Against Avalanche

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) is questionable for Game 1 against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday. The Swedish forward sustained a lower-body injury against Dallas on Thursday and didn't take part in Saturday's practice. Eriksson Ek had a productive opening-round series, notching three goals and five points with a plus-seven rating in six games. He led his team with a 56.4 faceoff-winning percentage. Bobby Brink, who was a healthy scratch on Thursday, could re-enter the lineup for Sunday's game if Eriksson Ek can't play.

Joel Eriksson Ek Powers Minnesota Past Dallas in Opening Game

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek did not hesitate; he simply kept shooting the puck. Eriksson Ek had five shots on goal in Game 1 against the Dallas Stars. Two of those shots went in the net on the power play as Minnesota routed Dallas 6-1. The first goal came as Eriksson Ek cruised into the slot. He beat Jake Oettinger off a brilliant feed from Matt Boldy. His second goal came from a Kirill Kaprizov pass, where Oettinger had zero chance of stopping the puck. The key part is that the forward was willing to get into a position in the slot where he might take punishment but would get chances. Eriksson Ek did not miss as the top line racked up 15 of Minnesota's 28 shots in Game 1.

Kirill Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek Returning Tuesday

Minnesota Wild forwards Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) and Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) will rejoin the lineup on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Both players have recently missed time due to lower-body injuries, with Kaprizov sitting out two games and Eriksson Ek three. Nico Sturm and Hunter Haight will exit the lineup to make room for the duo. Kaprizov will rejoin the first line, while Eriksson Ek will center the second line. They will also strengthen Minnesota's first power-play unit. The Lightning have allowed 3.71 goals per game since the Olympic break, so Minnesota's frontline could be in for a productive evening.

Kirill Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek to Remain Out Saturday

Minnesota Wild forwards Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) and Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) won't be available on Saturday against the Dallas Stars. Kaprizov will skip a second consecutive game, while Eriksson Ek will be absent for a third straight contest. Both players are considered day-to-day, so they could be available on Tuesday when Minnesota faces the Tampa Bay Lightning. Marcus Johansson, Danila Yurov, and Matt Boldy are expected to make up the first line against Dallas. Skating with an elite scorer like Boldy elevates both Johansson's and Yurov's fantasy value.

Joel Eriksson Ek Expected to Miss Three Games

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) is likely to miss at least three games, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. He will be replaced in the lineup by Robby Fabbri on Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks. Eriksson Ek is Minnesota's third-highest scoring forward this season, with 44 points (17 goals, 27 assists) in 62 appearances. With Eriksson Ek out, Danila Yurov is set to serve as the top-line center, making him a more attractive fantasy target. In 61 outings this season, Yurov has notched 10 goals and 15 assists.

Joel Eriksson Ek Available Sunday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (face) will play on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. The Swedish forward took a stick to the face in Friday's loss to Utah and was limited to 10:25 of ice time. Fortunately, he won't have to miss additional time after receiving good news from an eye doctor. Eriksson Ek is attempting to post his third 60-point campaign in 2025-26. In 54 outings, he has totaled 17 goals and 25 assists. Prior to his early exit on Friday, he was riding a seven-game point streak.

Joel Eriksson Ek Leaves Game With Facial Injury

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (face) left Friday's 5-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth after logging only 10:25 of ice time. He took a high stick to the face from Mammoth forward Nick Schmaltz in the second period. There was no update on him after the game, leaving a question mark hanging over Eriksson Ek ahead of Sunday's matchup with the St. Louis Blues. Eriksson Ek has totaled 42 points (17 goals, 25 assists) in 54 appearances, dishing out 78 hits. If the Swedish forward can't play on Sunday, Danila Yurov could return to the top six, while Ben Jones would be his likely replacement in the lineup.

Joel Eriksson Ek Misses Third Straight Game Thursday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) will remain on the shelf for a third straight contest on Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets. He skated on his own Thursday morning and remains day-to-day. Eriksson Ek is expected to travel with the team and could be an option on Saturday afternoon against the Buffalo Sabres. Danila Yurov will continue as the first-line center against the Jets, while Ryan Hartman has moved to the second line in Eriksson Ek's absence. Hartman has been on a bit of a heater lately, scoring in three of the last four games.

Joel Eriksson Ek Out Monday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) will remain sidelined on Monday against the New Jersey Devils. The Swedish forward suffered a lower-body injury last week and will be out for a second consecutive game. With Eriksson Ek out of commission, Ryan Hartman has joined the top six, while Danila Yurov continues to center the first line. Both players were kept off the score sheet in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Islanders. However, Hartman, who is also part of the first power-play unit, has seen some offensive success lately. Prior to Saturday night, he had scored in back-to-back games.

Joel Eriksson Ek Out Day-to-Day

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (undisclosed) was labeled day-to-day after his early exit from Thursday's win over the Seattle Kraken. He left the game in the second period with an undisclosed injury. Fortunately, he avoided a major injury and could be ready to play on Saturday against the New York Islanders. In 45 appearances, Eriksson Ek has posted 32 points (11 goals, 21 assists) and 68 hits, ranking among the top three on the team in both categories. If Eriksson Ek can't play this weekend, Ryan Hartman may get a fresh opportunity in the top six.
