Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (upper body) is out week-to-week. He has missed four games with an upper-body injury, and apparently, Brodin's return isn't imminent. The Swedish rearguard is a defensive workhorse for the Wild, having collected eight points (two goals, six assists) in 19 games with 35 shots and 45 blocks. Newly acquired David Jiricek might get an extended look in the lineup during Brodin's absence. He's yet to make his Wild debut after the team picked him up from Columbus in a trade on Nov. 30.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (upper body) will rejoin the action against St. Louis on Tuesday. An upper-body injury has kept Brodin out for two games. Averaging over 22 minutes of action, Brodin has kept himself busy all over the ice, recording six points (one goal, five assists), 29 shots, and 33 blocks in 15 games. He will partner Jared Spurgeon on the second defensive pairing, with Jon Merrill exiting the lineup.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (undisclosed) is regarded as questionable for Thursday's tilt against Montreal. He suffered an undisclosed injury against Chicago on Sunday and sat out Wednesday's practice. Brodin is a shot-blocking machine at the back for the Wild and occasionally also contributes offensively. He has recorded six points (one goal, five assists) with 31 blocks in 15 outings this season. Declan Chisholm, who is much more offensive-minded, will likely draw back into the lineup if Brodin is out on Thursday. Chisholm has tallied three assists in 10 outings this season, logging all of his points in his past six appearances.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (illness) will return from a one-game absence on Friday against Pittsburgh. The Swedish rearguard was forced to skip Wednesday's meeting with Chicago due to an illness. Alex Goligoski is expected to make way for Brodin on Friday. Brodin will skate on the second defensive pairing and the second power-play unit. He's totaled 13 points (one goal, 12 assists) in 32 appearances this season. The 30-year-old has enjoyed one of the best offensive spells of the season in his most recent appearances, finishing without a point only once in his past four games.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (upper body) is considered week-to-week by the team. He was injured Friday in a clash with the Oilers and will start a multi-game absence Sunday versus Seattle. Brodin had so far played in all 25 games this season, registering nine points (one goal, eight assists) with 48 shots on net and a team-high 62 blocks. He averages close to 24 minutes a night, so the Wild will have a major hole to fill on the blue line. Alex Goligoski will enter the lineup as Brodin's replacement on Sunday.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (lower body) will miss an 11th consecutive game Wednesday versus the Blues. He has returned to practice, but it looks like Brodin still needs some more recovery time before he is ready to play again. The 29-year-old has skated in 49 games this season, posting 11 points with 73 shots, 40 hits and 107 blocks. Alex Goligoski will continue to skate in Brodin's spot on the second defensive pairing Wednesday.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (lower body) won't play Wednesday against Dallas. He suffered a lower-body injury in Monday's meeting with Arizona and has failed to recover in time. Brodin scored his second goal of the season Monday and has registered eight points across 43 games. It's not been a great year for him offensively, but he's done a decent job in the defensive zone with 95 blocks. The Swedish blue-liner also has 63 shots on goal and 35 hits on his account with a plus-seven rating. Alex Goligoski will be Brodin's replacement in the lineup Wednesday.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin has suffered a lower-body injury and is set to miss Thursday's matchup versus Edmonton. He had only just returned to the lineup from an illness, posting an assist in Sunday's 4-3 win over Arizona. Brodin has recorded only four points this season, but he is a key man on the defensive side of things for the Wild and also the team leader in average ice time, having logged exactly 22 minutes per game. Matt Dumba will likely be paired with Alex Goligoski again on the second defensive pairing. The veteran blue-liner recently had a nice two-point outing in a game that Brodin missed, but Goligoski looks way past his best and has totaled only three points for the whole campaign, so he won't be a good option for fantasy managers.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (illness) was back practicing Saturday and appears ready to return to the lineup Sunday versus Arizona. The Swedish blue-line was knocked out of the lineup by an illness at the start of the week just when he was about to skate in his 700th career game. Brodin posted a career-high 30 points last season, but he has notched only three points in 18 games this term. He's not a very attractive fantasy option, although Brodin does pick up blocks with a nice rate and is capable of helping out managers in that area. He has thrown himself in front of 31 shots this season. The 29-year-old skated with Matt Dumba on the second defensive pairing Saturday.
Minnesota Wild defensemen Jonas Brodin (upper body) and Alex Goligoski (COVID-19 protocols) won't play on Saturday against Washington. It's a major blow for the team, as Minnesota's blue line has already been without Jared Spurgeon (lower body). Matt Dumba's minutes have gone through the roof lately and he'll be expected to do even more now. Other rearguards, such as Jon Merrill and Dmitry Kulikov, will likely have to adjust to a heavier workload as well. Minnesota will miss a total of nine players, so things are also bleak in attack.
Jonas Brodin Picks Up Two Assists In Win On Tuesday
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin has gone on a nice, little point run of late. He picked up a pair of assists on Tuesday night as Minnesota won in Edmonton by a score of 4-1. Brodin also netted one of his assists on the power play. That was his third of the year already. In 25 games, the Wild defenseman has 14 points including 11 helpers. Brodin had a nice all-around effort playing over 22 minutes on Tuesday while seeing ample time on the penalty kill and the power play. He had two shots on goal, delivered a hit, and blocked two more shots. Brodin fills quite a few categories in season-long leagues especially.
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin is expected to make his first appearance since Feb. 2 in Saturday's clash with the Ducks. The Swedish blueliner was one of the many Wild players who landed on the NHL's COVID-19 list, which ultimately led to five of the team's games being postponed. Brodin had a solid start to the year with six points in 11 games. He also posted 21 shots and 19 blocks while registering a plus-two rating. The 27-year old is expected to suit up alongside Matt Dumba on the third defensive pairing. Dumba himself returned from a lower-body injury this week and Jared Spurgeon is back in action as well, so Minnesota's blue line is finally healthy.
