Yakov Trenin Could Be an Option Tuesday

Minnesota Wild forward Yakov Trenin (upper body) could return to action on Tuesday in Game 5 against the Dallas Stars, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. He has missed two games due to an upper-body injury, but Trenin practiced fully on Monday, suggesting he might be ready to return. Wild head coach John Hynes officially labeled Trenin as questionable, along with fellow forward Mats Zuccarello (upper body). Nico Sturm and Danila Yurov are expected to sit out Tuesday's game if Trenin and Zuccarello return. Trenin would primarily add physicality to the Wild lineup, having led the NHL with 413 hits in 82 games during the regular season.

Yakov Trenin Won't Play in Game 4 Against Stars

Minnesota Wild forward Yakov Trenin (upper body) won't be in the lineup on Saturday in Game 4 against the Dallas Stars, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. Trenin was hurt in Game 2 of the series when he absorbed a big hit from Stars forward Colin Blackwell. His absence has left the Wild without a huge physical presence, as Trenin averaged eight hits per game across the first two contests in the series. Nico Strum took Trenin's spot in the lineup in Wednesday's Game 3, recording three hits and a minus-one rating in 9:00 of ice time.

Yakov Trenin Considered a Game-Time Decision Wednesday

Minnesota Wild forward Yakov Trenin (upper body) is considered a game-time call for Wednesday's tilt against the Dallas Stars, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. The heavy-hitting Russian sustained an upper-body injury in Monday's Game 2 and might join Mats Zuccarello (upper body) on the sidelines. Zuccarello is also a game-time decision on Wednesday. If they can't play, Bobby Brink is set to stay in the lineup, and Nico Strum will make his series debut. Trenin has gone scoreless against Dallas but already has 16 hits after two games.

Yakov Trenin Suffers Upper-Body Injury in Game 2

Minnesota Wild forward Yakov Trenin (upper body) didn't finish Monday's Game 2 loss to the Dallas Stars. He sustained an upper-body injury in the first period from a hit by Stars forward Colin Blackwell. Trenin himself had three hits in the game, despite logging only 3:02 of ice time. He was a runaway leader in the league with 413 hits in 82 games during the regular season. His physical presence will be a big miss for Minnesota if Trenin can't suit up for Game 3 on Wednesday. In a bottom-six role, Trenin also made a decent contribution on the offensive end during the regular season, finishing with 23 points (six goals, 17 assists).

Yakov Trenin Considered Day-To-Day

Colorado Avalanche forward Yakov Trenin (upper body) will not play in Game 6 against Dallas on Friday and is considered day-to-day. Trenin, who has been limited to one point in 10 playoff appearances this year, comes out of the lineup after sustaining an upper-body injury in Game 5. Chris Wagner is expected to take his spot in the lineup. Wagner has featured just once in these playoffs and likely won't see a lot of action on Friday, either. Colorado is set to rely heavily on its top lines in an attempt to stave off elimination for a second time.

Yakov Trenin Sustains An Upper-Body Injury

Colorado Avalanche forward Yakov Trenin couldn't finish Wednesday's Game 5 against Dallas due to an upper-body injury. He was on the ice for only four shifts and 2:16 before being forced to call it a night. Trenin, a trade deadline pickup from Nashville, skates on the fourth line for the Avalanche. He's produced one goal with 30 hits in 10 playoff appearances. Nikolai Kovalenko could make his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in Friday's Game 6 if Trenin isn't available.

Yakov Trenin Dealt To Colorado

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired Yakov Trenin and Graham Sward from the Nashville Predators in exchange for Jeremy Hanzel and a third-round pick in 2025. Trenin is the only part of this deal with an immediate effect, as Sward and Hanzel are both prospects. With this pickup, the Avs add another bottom-six forward to complement their high-end talent. Trenin provides good defense and excellent penalty killing, but won't give much scoring. He has 10 goals and four assists in 60 games for Nashville this year. This trade doesn't matter much to fantasy, but it could be a very nice addition for Colorado.
