Yakov Trenin Considered Day-To-Day

Colorado Avalanche forward Yakov Trenin (upper body) will not play in Game 6 against Dallas on Friday and is considered day-to-day. Trenin, who has been limited to one point in 10 playoff appearances this year, comes out of the lineup after sustaining an upper-body injury in Game 5. Chris Wagner is expected to take his spot in the lineup. Wagner has featured just once in these playoffs and likely won't see a lot of action on Friday, either. Colorado is set to rely heavily on its top lines in an attempt to stave off elimination for a second time.

Yakov Trenin Sustains An Upper-Body Injury

Colorado Avalanche forward Yakov Trenin couldn't finish Wednesday's Game 5 against Dallas due to an upper-body injury. He was on the ice for only four shifts and 2:16 before being forced to call it a night. Trenin, a trade deadline pickup from Nashville, skates on the fourth line for the Avalanche. He's produced one goal with 30 hits in 10 playoff appearances. Nikolai Kovalenko could make his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in Friday's Game 6 if Trenin isn't available.

Yakov Trenin Dealt To Colorado

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired Yakov Trenin and Graham Sward from the Nashville Predators in exchange for Jeremy Hanzel and a third-round pick in 2025. Trenin is the only part of this deal with an immediate effect, as Sward and Hanzel are both prospects. With this pickup, the Avs add another bottom-six forward to complement their high-end talent. Trenin provides good defense and excellent penalty killing, but won't give much scoring. He has 10 goals and four assists in 60 games for Nashville this year. This trade doesn't matter much to fantasy, but it could be a very nice addition for Colorado.
