Brock Faber To Rejoin Wild Lineup Saturday

Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber (upper body) will return to action in Saturday's matchup against Nashville. He has sat out four games while nursing an upper-body injury. The Wild have finally received some good news on the injury front after recently losing several players from their lineup. Faber averages nearly 25 minutes of ice time, so he's been a massive miss for the team. He should head straight back to the first defensive pairing and the top power-play unit. Zach Bogosian and Declan Chisholm will be used less with Faber back in the fold. Faber is fifth in scoring on the team with 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) and has racked up 54 blocks in 41 games.

Brock Faber Still Out Wednesday

Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber (upper body) has been ruled out for a fourth consecutive contest as the team gets ready to host Edmonton on Wednesday. He participated in the morning skate, which is a good sign that Faber should be good to go soon. Following Wednesday night, the Wild return to action on Saturday against Nashville. Jonas Brodin (lower body) isn't ready to return either. Jared Spurgeon (lower body) is a longer-term absentee from defense, meaning Travis Dermott and David Jiricek will continue to receive regular playing opportunities. At the same time, Declan Chisholm has additional fantasy value as a fill-in on the first power-play unit.

Brock Faber Out On Thursday

Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber (upper body) will not play in Thursday's contest against Colorado. The talented blue-liner was injured on Tuesday versus Boston and could be absent for multiple games. Jonas Brodin (lower body) has also been ruled out for Thursday, leaving the Wild defense short of quality. Team captain Jared Spurgeon (lower body) has already sat out three games. Due to the injuries, Zach Bogosian will skate with Jake Middleton on the first defensive pairing, with Jon Merrill and Declan Chisholm forming the second pairing. David Jiricek will make his Wild debut on the third defensive pairing. Chisholm will have the most fantasy value among the Wild defensemen, as he's expected to skate with the first power-play unit.

Brock Faber Sustains Injury On Tuesday

According to the team, Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber (upper body) sustained an injury during Tuesday's contest. The 22-year-old logged just over four minutes of ice time before sustaining the injury. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status before their next game against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday evening. Faber has been a critical part of Minnesota's defense all season. Faber has averaged just under 25 minutes of ice time per night and tallied 20 points across 41 games. He has registered 54 blocks and 15 hits. This is another tough blow for Minnesota's defense, as Jared Spurgeon (lower body) is already on the injured reserve. Travis Dermott would draw into the starting lineup if Faber were to miss time.

Brock Faber Available Friday

Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber (upper body) will play against Utah on Friday. He was injured in Wednesday's clash against Florida when a puck hit Faber in the neck near the end of the game. However, the talented blue-liner will not have to miss additional time. Faber averages over 25 minutes of action per game and is typically busy all over the ice. He has totaled 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) in 32 games with 41 shots and 42 blocks. Faber was on a three-game assist streak before the Panthers found a way to nullify his threat offensively.

Brock Faber Remains Under Evaluation After Getting Hit By Puck

Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber remains under evaluation after he was hit in the face by a puck on Wednesday versus Florida. The incident occurred in the final minute of play. Faber had a rough outing against the Panthers, finishing a 6-1 loss with a minus-two rating, but he's played a major role in the Wild's success this season. Through 32 games, Faber has contributed three goals and 14 assists with 41 shots and 42 blocks. He's among eight skaters in the league to average at least 25 minutes of ice time per game.

Brock Faber Signs Eight-Year Extension With Wild

Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber signed an eight-year extension on Monday. He will be on a $68 million deal once his entry-level contract expires next summer. The Wild are investing heavily in Faber after he was one of the standout rookies in the NHL in 2023-24, finishing second only to Chicago's Connor Bedard in the Calder Trophy voting. The Minnesota native recorded 47 points (eight goals, 39 assists) in 82 games while averaging a team-high 24:58 of ice time. Faber, who will turn 22 in a few weeks' time, also did his part defensively by amassing 150 blocks and 65 hits. Fantasy managers got a lot out of the young blue-liner during his rookie campaign, and Faber looks set to lead the Wild blue line for years to come.

Brock Faber Stays Hot With An Assist

Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber reached 30 points for the year with an assist in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Chicago. He linked up with Vinni Lettieri to help Marcus Foligno score the game-winning goal in the middle of the third period. Faber was named Rookie of the Month for January, and this marks a good start to February. The 21-year-old has been held off the score sheet just once in his past eight outings, and he is on the cusp of setting multiple new franchise records. His 30-point effort across the season ties the Wild's rookie record for most points by a defenseman, and Faber has also matched the franchise's rookie record for any position with 26 assists.

Brock Faber Named NHL Rookie Of The Month For January

Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber has been named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for January. The 21-year-old paced all freshmen with 11 assists and 13 points for the month, doing so in just 14 contests. A 2020 second-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings, Faber was traded to the Wild in a deal involving forward Kevin Fiala going to L.A. and Faber is thriving after a two-game cup of coffee in the NHL last season. He has recorded four goals and 29 points across 49 games while logging a hefty 24:51 of ice time per game, tying Pittsburgh's Kris Letang for the 10th-highest in the league. Only phenom Connor Bedard as more points (33) among rookies this season. With teammate and Wild captain Jared Spurgeon out for the season due to hip and back surgeries, Faber has taken on an even bigger role on the back end, including on the top power-play unit where he has logged two goals and nine points on the season. He is blossoming into a fantasy stud far sooner than expected.
