Nick Foligno Out On Wednesday

Chicago Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno will miss Wednesday's contest against the St. Louis Blues due to personal reasons. He will, however, rejoin the lineup for Friday's contest against the Nashville Predators. The 36-year-old has had a nice impact in his first season in Chicago, tallying 17 goals and 37 points across 70 games, his best offensive production since the 2016-17 season while with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was not only rewarded with a two-year, $9 million contract extension but he was also named the team's captain while providing leadership for young phenom Connor Bedard. The Blackhawks sit 31st in the NHL standings with 51 points on the campaign.

Nick Foligno Returns To Blackhawks Lineup

Chicago Blackhawks left wing Nick Foligno (finger) will be back in action on Monday against Vancouver. The veteran has been absent for seven games after breaking his left ring finger in a fight. Foligno adds a lot of muscle to the Blackhawks lineup, but he'll be expected to deliver offense as well on Monday, as the 36-year-old will be thrust into a first-line role. Foligno, who recently signed a two-year, $9 million extension with Chicago, has posted eight goals and nine assists in 39 games this season. The Blackhawks attack will also get Ryan Donato (illness) back from a two-game absence.

Nick Foligno Gets Two-Year Extension From Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks and forward Nick Foligno have agreed to a two-year contract extension that carries an average annual value of $4.5 million. The 36-year-old was brought to Chicago on a one-year $4 million deal this past summer and has tallied eight goals and 17 assists on 73 shots across his first 39 games in the Windy City. More importantly, he has served as a leader and role model, most notably for No. 1 overall pick Connor Bedard whom Foligno has flanked for much of the season. A 17-year NHL veteran, Foligno has appeared in 1,120 career regular-season games, recording 223 goals, 542 points, and 914 penalty minutes in that time. He remains the likeliest of candidates to take over the open Captain vacancy in Chicago.

Nick Foligno Exits Friday's Loss With Injury

Chicago Blackhawks left wing Nick Foligno suffered an undisclosed injury in Friday's matchup with New Jersey. He had more penalty minutes (9) than ice time (7:26) in the contest after fighting with Brendan Smith, who knocked Chicago's young ace Connor Bedard (undisclosed) out of the game. Foligno has totaled 39 penalty minutes for the entire season while contributing eight goals and nine assists on the offensive front. He'll be out of the lineup for the first time in 2023-24 if Foligno isn't ready to face the Flames on Sunday.

Nick Foligno Remains In Chicago On One-Year Deal

Chicago Blackhawks winger Nick Foligno has signed a one-year extension worth $4 million. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent before committing his future to the Blackhawks. Foligno arrived in the Windy City at the start of the week from Boston alongside Taylor Hall. The 35-year-old will provide good veteran presence for a young rebuilding team while skating in a bottom-six role. Foligno averaged 0.43 points per game last season, but his offensive productivity will likely drop after the trade, as there is a lot less talent surrounding him in Chicago.

Nick Foligno Suffers A Lower-Body Injury

Boston Bruins winger Nick Foligno suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win against Calgary, logging only 8:02 of ice time in the game. He was seen leaving the arena favoring his right leg and Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery has said that he doubts if Foligno can play Thursday versus Buffalo. The veteran winger has been enjoying a good season in the Bruins bottom six, posting 10 goals and 26 points across 60 outings with 147 hits. The Boston attack has already lost Taylor Hall (lower body), so the team is going to need reinforcement from the minors ahead of Thursday's matchup.

Nick Foligno, Connor Clifton Come Out Of The Lineup

Boston Bruins winger Nick Foligno (upper body) and defenseman Connor Clifton won't play on Friday against the Sabres. Foligno got injured in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to Philadelphia and is day-to-day, while it looks like Clifton will simply be scratched for the game. At least there aren't any injury reports regarding the 26-year-old blueliner, who's gone pointless so far this season with three shots, five hits, one block and a minus-two rating. John Moore will replace him in the lineup. Foligno's spot on the third line went to Tomas Nosek in Thursday's practice, however, there could be some extra maneuvering within the lineup after Craig Smith took a maintenance day and missed practice. He likely won't miss any game time.

Nick Foligno Back In Action On Wednesday

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Foligno (upper body) is expected to return to the lineup as his team is set to face the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night. The 33-year-old, who was acquired via trade from Columbus at the deadline, missed the previous two contests due to an upper-body injury. Playing on the Leafs top line alongside forwards Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, Foligno has registered four assists, a plus-five rating, five shots and 16 hits in five games with his new squad. He could be a sneaky play on Wednesday in daily fantasy leagues.

Nick Foligno Out For Next Two Games

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Foligno will be sidelined for the next two contests due to an upper-body injury. The 33-year-old sustained the injury in the Leafs' overtime loss to the Canadiens on Monday, as he skated just 9:05 of ice time before being forced to depart the contest. Foligno (32% owned in Yahoo! leagues) has been a great fit with Toronto since getting acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets at the trade deadline - posting four assists, a plus-five rating and 16 hits in five games. If treatment goes well throughout the rest of the week, Foligno's next opportunity to get back into the lineup will come next Wednesday versus the Senators.

Nick Foligno Set To Make Leafs Debut On Thursday

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Foligno will make his debut with his new team in a road matchup with the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night. Acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets at the trade deadline, Foligno had to complete a mandatory quarantine prior to being able to suit up with the Leafs. The 33-year-old's offensive production has really slipped this season (just 16 points in 42 games) but can still be relied upon to produce great peripheral stats in fantasy leagues (73 shots, 109 hits, 28 penalty minutes). Given the fact that he will start Thursday's tilt on the Leafs' top line alongside forwards Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, Foligno is probably worth a speculative add in deeper fantasy formats.

Nick Foligno Finds Success Versus Detroit

Columbus Blue Jackets winger Nick Foligno netted the team's only goal in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Detroit. He was set up by Boone Jenner and Alexandre Texier, who made his first appearance since Mar. 14. Foligno has been quiet this month as this was only his third point. The Blue Jackets captain is on six goals and 13 points for the season in 35 games. The veteran winger isn't a reliable source for offensive stats, but he's a hit machine who has had delivered 87 hits this season. Only six forwards in the league have more points and hits than him. Foligno has also registered 60 shots and 29 blocks with an even rating ahead of Sunday's rematch with Detroit.
