Nick Foligno News
Boston Bruins winger Nick Foligno suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win against Calgary, logging only 8:02 of ice time in the game. He was seen leaving the arena favoring his right leg and Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery has said that he doubts if Foligno can play Thursday versus Buffalo. The veteran winger has been enjoying a good season in the Bruins bottom six, posting 10 goals and 26 points across 60 outings with 147 hits. The Boston attack has already lost Taylor Hall (lower body), so the team is going to need reinforcement from the minors ahead of Thursday's matchup.
Boston Bruins winger Nick Foligno (upper body) and defenseman Connor Clifton won't play on Friday against the Sabres. Foligno got injured in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to Philadelphia and is day-to-day, while it looks like Clifton will simply be scratched for the game. At least there aren't any injury reports regarding the 26-year-old blueliner, who's gone pointless so far this season with three shots, five hits, one block and a minus-two rating. John Moore will replace him in the lineup. Foligno's spot on the third line went to Tomas Nosek in Thursday's practice, however, there could be some extra maneuvering within the lineup after Craig Smith took a maintenance day and missed practice. He likely won't miss any game time.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Foligno (upper body) is expected to return to the lineup as his team is set to face the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night. The 33-year-old, who was acquired via trade from Columbus at the deadline, missed the previous two contests due to an upper-body injury. Playing on the Leafs top line alongside forwards Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, Foligno has registered four assists, a plus-five rating, five shots and 16 hits in five games with his new squad. He could be a sneaky play on Wednesday in daily fantasy leagues.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Foligno will be sidelined for the next two contests due to an upper-body injury. The 33-year-old sustained the injury in the Leafs' overtime loss to the Canadiens on Monday, as he skated just 9:05 of ice time before being forced to depart the contest. Foligno (32% owned in Yahoo! leagues) has been a great fit with Toronto since getting acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets at the trade deadline - posting four assists, a plus-five rating and 16 hits in five games. If treatment goes well throughout the rest of the week, Foligno's next opportunity to get back into the lineup will come next Wednesday versus the Senators.
