Connor McDavid Surpasses 1,100 Career Points

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid surpassed the 1,100-point mark with two assists in Monday's 3-2 loss against the St. Louis Blues. The Oilers captain reached 1,100 career regular-season points with a power-play assist late in the first period and produced another helper in an even-strength situation early in the season. Playing in his 726th career game, McDavid became the fourth-fastest player in history to reach 1,100 points. During his 11th year in the league, McDavid has amassed 19 points (three goals, 16 assists) in 14 contests. Five of his points have come in his first two November outings, a sign that the three-time MVP has found his stride after a somewhat slow start to the year.

Connor McDavid Records Three Assists in Saturday's Win

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid collected assists on all three goals on Saturday night as the team took down the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime. The Oilers captain was at risk of finishing with no points in back-to-back games for only the second time this calendar year. He made sure it didn't happen with a pair of power-play assists in the second period. McDavid then completed his hat trick off assists midway through the extra frame, helping Evan Bouchard secure two points for Edmonton. After 13 games in 2025-26, McDavid has accumulated 17 points (three goals and 14 assists). He needs just one more point to become the 69th player in NHL history to reach 1,100 regular-season points.

Connor McDavid Signs Two-Year Extension With Oilers

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid ended speculation about his future on Monday by signing a two-year, $25 million extension. The superstar forward was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in 2026. He will complete an eight-year, $100 million deal with the 2025-26 campaign. The Oilers managed to keep McDavid with a team-friendly deal and must remain competitive or risk losing him in 2028. Despite winning multiple MVP awards and scoring titles, McDavid has yet to lift the Stanley Cup 10 years into his NHL career. He'll be out to record his sixth straight 100-point campaign this season and should easily hit the mark unless he suffers a bad injury.

Connor McDavid Aiming for More Goals

Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid wants to become a more prolific goal-scorer this season. "I want to prove that scoring 50 or 60 is not a one-off," McDavid told Mark Spector of Sportsnet. "I've had 50 goals, and I've had 100 assists, and I like the goals a little bit more." The Oilers captain won the Rocket Richard Trophy as the NHL's leader in goals in 2022-23 with a 64-goal effort, but since then, he's only had 58 regular-season goals across two campaigns. McDavid wants to be more "assertive" with his scoring opportunities after registering only 196 shots on the net last season, his lowest total since his rookie year. The three-time MVP is already the top option for fantasy managers, and his value would increase even more if he could add more goals to his game.

Oilers Hope to Finalize Connor McDavid's Contract Extension Soon

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid is approaching the final year of an eight-year, $100 million contract and could become an unrestricted free agent next offseason. However, the superstar forward is not expected to leave the team. Oilers general manager Stan Bowman hopes to agree to an extension with him soon. "(McDavid is) a huge part of everything we do here, and so I don't have a timeline update, but I do expect to have some conversations with them soon and hopefully get that wrapped up," Bowman told CHED 880's Bob Stauffer. Bowman also mentioned that he's had "really good conversations" with McDavid's agent, Judd Moldaver. McDavid has crushed it in the National Hockey League since his very first season. He has tallied 1,082 points (361 goals, 721 assists) in 712 career regular-season games, reaching 100 points in five consecutive campaigns.

Connor McDavid Scores First Finals Goal

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid scored his first goal of the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday, recording the team's first marker in a 5-2 defeat against the Florida Panthers. McDavid is going up against three-time Frank J. Selke Trophy winner Aleksander Barkov in the series and has been limited to only two points in the last three games. He was on fire early in the matchup, bagging five assists across Games 1 and 2. The Oilers now face elimination in Game 6 on the road Tuesday and need a big performance from their key guys, including McDavid, who continues to share the postseason scoring lead with teammate Leon Draisaitl. He has tallied seven goals and 33 points in 21 playoff outings this year.

Connor McDavid Joins Rare Company with Three-Assist Effort

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid produced three assists, including a highlight-reel pass during Friday's 5-4 double overtime defeat against the Florida Panthers in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. McDavid helped Evan Bouchard on the scoreboard and then set up Leon Draisaitl with an incredible move on the power play to give Edmonton a 3-2 lead going into the first period. After the Oilers offense went cold for a prolonged stretch, McDavid added another assist to his tally when Corey Perry sent the game into overtime with only 18 seconds remaining in regulation. McDavid became the sixth player in NHL history to post three or more assists in a Stanley Cup Finals matchup multiple times, joining Wayne Gretzky (4x), Gordie Howe (3x), Phil Esposito (2x), Bernie Geoffrion (2x), and Doug Harvey (2x). The Oilers captain continues to amaze each night, having collected 31 points (six goals, 25 assists) in 18 postseason games this year.

Connor McDavid Records Two Assists in Wednesday's Win

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid registered two assists as the team opened the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers with a 4-3 overtime win. The Oilers captain made big plays in key moments. First, he helped Mattias Ekholm tie the game in the third period, and McDavid then picked up another assist on Leon Draisaitl's game-winning power-play goal in overtime. It was McDavid's 32nd career multi-assist game in the playoffs, tying him for the third most all-time. With both McDavid and Draisaitl in hot form, the Oilers will fancy their chances in the series. McDavid has logged multiple points in four consecutive games and has been held off the score sheet only once in his last 15 appearances. He leads the league this postseason with 28 points (six goals, 22 assists) in 17 appearances.

Connor McDavid Extends Multi-Point Streak in Series-Clincher

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid finished with multiple points for a third consecutive game as the team ended the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Stars with a 6-3 victory on Thursday. The Oilers captain collected an assist on Corey Perry's early power-play goal and netted the game-winning goal on a one-man breakaway with 5:32 remaining in the second period. Playing in his 90th career postseason game, McDavid became the second-fastest player behind Wayne Gretzky (70 games) to record 100 playoff assists. Furthermore, McDavid and Gretzky are now the only two players to record at least three career 20-assist postseasons. McDavid has once again been a scoring machine in the playoffs and will enter the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers with 26 points (six goals, 20 assists) through 16 games.

Connor McDavid Records Two Assists in Tuesday's Win

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid recorded two assists, including a power-play helper, in Tuesday's 4-1 win against the Dallas Stars. His playmaking helped Corey Perry score the game-winning goal in the second period, and McDavid's second assist came in the final minute of play when Adam Henrique wrapped up the scoring with an empty-netter. McDavid has struggled to score goals in these playoffs, but he has continued to post silly numbers on the offensive end. The Oilers captain is averaging 1.53 points per game, marking his fifth postseason campaign with a scoring average of at least 1.5 points. He is up to 24 points (five goals, 19 assists) through 15 games. During the Conference Finals, McDavid has registered two goals and seven assists.

Connor McDavid Nets Two Goals in Game 3 Win

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid found the back of the net twice as the team took charge in the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Stars with a 6-1 win on Sunday. The Oilers captain has experienced some terrible luck in front of the net this postseason, but finally got the bounces on Sunday, lighting the lamp with both of his shots on goal. With the two-goal performance, McDavid claimed the postseason scoring lead. He has 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) through 14 games. His shooting percentage stands at an abysmal 9.4, suggesting that McDavid is likely to significantly increase his goal total moving forward.

Connor McDavid Logs 20th Postseason Point Friday

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid collected an assist on a Brett Kulak goal in Friday's 3-0 win over the Dallas Stars, making him the fourth player in NHL history to record 20-plus points in four consecutive postseasons. The Oilers captain joined Sergei Fedorov, Mike Bossy, and Bryan Trottier on the special list. Almost all of his points this postseason have come through assists, as McDavid has been limited to just three goals with 51 attempts on the net. It has been a frustrating time for him in front of the goal, although McDavid has still been highly impactful for the Oilers, sharing the scoring lead in the playoffs with teammate Leon Draisaitl and Dallas forward Mikko Rantanen.

He had one even-strength assist and a power-play helper, which gave McDavid only his second point this postseason with the man advantage. The Oilers captain has been quiet on the power play, but he still tied with teammate Leon Draisaitl for the second-most points in the playoffs. McDavid has tallied 19 points (three goals, 16 assists) in 12 appearances, going scoreless only two times. With the Oilers defense leaking goals again, McDavid must keep up his productivity for the team to have a chance against Dallas.

Connor McDavid Records Two Assists In Special Victory

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid finished with two assists as the team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to secure a 4-2 victory in Game 1 against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday. The Oilers became the first team in NHL history to achieve five comeback victories during a single postseason. McDavid's assists came on Edmonton's first two goals, scored by Corey Perry and Leon Draisaitl. McDavid became the fourth player in franchise history to record 20 three-point playoff games, joining Wayne Gretzky (39), Jari Kurri (26), and Mark Messier (22). It was an impressive bounce-back performance from the Oilers captain after he was held scoreless in Game 2. Connor McDavid Racks Up Four Points In Losing Effort

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid opened the 2025 postseason with a big four-point effort, but it was not enough to secure a victory against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 on Monday night. The Oilers captain registered one goal and three assists in a 6-5 defeat. Edmonton fell behind 4-0 before making the game competitive in the third period. McDavid recorded his sixth postseason four-point game, tying him for seventh on the all-time list. He averaged more than two points per game against the Kings in last year's first-round series, and it seems McDavid might be even more productive this time.

Connor McDavid Hits 100-Point Mark For Fifth Straight Season

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid tallied a helper during Wednesday's regular season finale to reach the 100-point mark for the fifth-straight campaign. He would tally the primary assist on Ty Emberson's eventual game-winning goal. Even though McDavid only appeared in 67 games this season, the superstar was able to hit the century mark. This is the eighth time in his career that McDavid has tallied at least 100 points in a single season. He recently missed time due to a lower-body injury but has tallied 10 helpers over his last four games, which suggests he is fully healthy entering the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Through 67 games this season, McDavid has scored 26 goals and added 74 assists. He will look to lead the Oilers to another opening-round victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Connor McDavid Won't Play Monday

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (rest) will not be in the lineup on Monday against the Los Angeles Kings. The Oilers captain recently returned from a lower-body injury, posting nine assists in three games. However, he will be rested on Monday, as the Oilers are already looking ahead to the postseason. McDavid has been limited to 66 appearances in 2024-25, but he still has a chance to record his fifth consecutive 100-point campaign, needing to add just one more point to his tally. It remains to be seen whether Edmonton will give him the opportunity to get there in the regular-season finale on Wednesday against the San Jose Sharks.

Connor McDavid Busy On Friday
