Connor McDavid Nets Two Goals During Three-Point Night

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid had his second multi-goal outing on the season and tallied three points as the team rolled past Ottawa 5-2 on Tuesday. The Oilers captain scored a pair of first-period goals, including a power-play tally. He completed his three-point outing with an assist on Leon Draisaitl's goal early in the second frame. Draisaitl finished with one goal and two assists, making it the 43rd time the two Oilers superstars have amassed three-plus points in the same game -- only five duos in NHL history have managed more such outings. After returning from an ankle injury, McDavid has gotten straight down to business, scoring six goals and 14 points over a seven-game stretch. He's now on 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) in 17 games for the season.

Connor McDavid Leads Oilers To Victory With Four-Point Effort

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid notched a season-high four points in Tuesday's tilt against the Islanders, helping his squad to a 4-3 overtime victory. He had one goal and three assists in the contest, reaching 999 career points. The Oilers captain became the first player since Brett Hull in the early 1990s to register four consecutive 100-point calendar years. Following a brief stint on the sidelines, McDavid has come back in impressive form, posting seven points across the past two games. He's now on 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) through 13 appearances for the season.

Connor McDavid Leads The Way In Saturday's Victory

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid led the way on Saturday evening as he tallied three points in their victory over the Vancouver Canucks. McDavid would tack his first point of the evening on an assist on Leon Draisaitl's opening goal. Later in the third, McDavid would score his fourth goal of the campaign on the man-advantage and then tally his second assist of the evening on Brett Kulak's goal. This was McDavid's fourth multi-point effort of the season and first since returning from the ankle injury he sustained during the last week of October. In total, the superstar has tallied just 13 points in 12 games with +4 rating. However, despite his slow start, Saturday's performance suggests he is rounding into form. Fantasy managers should always keep McDavid in their lineup and he remains a top DFS play in any matchup.

Connor McDavid Returns To Action Wednesday

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (ankle) will be back in the lineup on Wednesday versus Vegas. Amazingly, McDavid has missed just three games after initially being ruled out for 2-3 weeks. The Oilers captain hasn't been quite at his best this season but has still averaged a point per game through 10 outings, scoring three goals and dishing out seven assists. He's projected to skate on the first line with Jeff Skinner and Zach Hyman. Leon Draisaitl drops down to the second line and will be flanked by Viktor Arvidsson and Vasily Podkolzin.

Connor McDavid Ahead Of Schedule In Recovery

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (ankle) skated on Monday and is now considered day-to-day. McDavid was originally given a two-to-three-week timeline to return from an ankle injury suffered on October 28, but appears to be slightly ahead of schedule. The 27-year-old superstar didn't rule out a return against Vancouver this Saturday, something both the Oilers and his fantasy owners would be ecstatic about. McDavid has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 10 games this season and is just eight points away from 1000 for his career. Knowing McDavid, that could be done in just a few games after he gets back on the ice.

Connor McDavid Ruled Out For 2-3 Weeks

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (ankle) is expected to miss 2-3 weeks of action. The three-time MVP was hurt on Monday versus Columbus. As a result of McDavid's injury, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is set to return to a center role, having practiced with Jeff Skinner and Zach Hyman on Wednesday. Leon Draisaitl will skate as the first-line center. He was riding with Viktor Arvidsson and Vasily Podkolzin on Wednesday. The Oilers offense has badly struggled, with the team ranked last in the league with a 2.20 goals-for average. It will be interesting to see if the new-look lines improve the situation.

Connor McDavid Leaves Road Trip With Injury

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (lower body) will miss the rest of the team's road trip after getting hurt on Monday versus Columbus. The Oilers captain was injured on his first shift against the Blue Jackets and has returned to Edmonton to get evaluated for a lower-body injury. The team hit the halfway point of its four-game road trip on Monday and has two more stops to come, starting with Thursday's matchup against Nashville. McDavid has been slow out the gate this season but still averages a point per game through 10 outings with three goals and seven assists. Adam Henrique could get a chance to rejoin the top six in McDavid's absence, with Leon Draisaitl taking over as the first-line center.

Connor McDavid Wins Conn Smythe Trophy

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy on Monday as the most valuable player of the 2024 NHL postseason. The Oilers captain led all players in the playoffs with 42 points in 25 games and set a new league record with 34 assists. However, he had a disappointing finish to the postseason campaign, as McDavid couldn't add any points to his tally in Monday's winner-takes-all game against Florida. He's the first player since 2003 to be selected as the playoff MVP despite being on the losing side in the Stanley Cup Final.

Connor McDavid Finishes Game 3 Loss With Two Assists

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid recorded two assists as the team suffered a 4-3 defeat in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against Florida on Thursday. Edmonton struggled to get past Sergei Bobrovsky again, but the team managed to make it a close game with a couple of third-period strikes, and McDavid collected helpers on both plays. This pushes him to 29 assists for the playoffs -- Wayne Gretzky is the only player in NHL history to manage more in a single postseason, with his league record standing at 31 assists. In 21 outings, McDavid has also recorded five goals. The Oilers captain has been phenomenal throughout the postseason, but the team appears to have run out of gas, as Edmonton fell into a 3-0 hole in the series Thursday night.

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid dished out three assists as the team tied the Western Conference Final against Dallas with a 5-2 victory on Wednesday. The Oilers captain produced one assist in each period, with Edmonton winning its second game of the series despite falling into an early 2-0 hole. The game marks the fourth occasion McDavid has recorded at least three assists in a game this postseason. Wayne Gretzky holds the all-time record with five such outings in a single playoff campaign. Following Wednesday night, McDavid will get at least two opportunities to match the mark. He has registered 28 points (four goals, 24 assists) in 16 games overall for the 2024 playoffs.

Connor McDavid Reaches 100 Playoff Points In Monday's Loss

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid hit the 100-point plateau for his postseason career on Monday, logging a goal and an assist in a 5-3 defeat to Dallas. Playing in his 67th playoff game, McDavid became the fourth-fastest player in history to reach 100 points. He's had 33 goals and 67 assists across his postseason career, notching 25 points (four goals, 21 assists) in 15 games this year. McDavid continues to do his thing with ease, although his goal tally has been disappointing in these playoffs. However, two of his four goals have come in the Western Conference Finals, which is a sign that McDavid has started to improve in that area.

Connor McDavid Dominates With Five Assists

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid came up big in Game 1 of their first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings, notching five assists in a 7-4 win. McDavid was in top form on Monday, providing two even-strength assists and three more on the powerplay. The Oilers looked unstoppable offensively in this one, with McDavid playing a huge role in that. If they can continue playing this well it is going to be hard to stop them from going on a long playoff run.

Connor McDavid Unlikely For Wednesday

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (lower body) is unlikely to suit up on Wednesday when his team plays host to the Vegas Golden Knights. The superstar suffered what is reportedly a minor lower-body injury late in the Oilers' 4-2 win over the rival Calgary Flames on Saturday and didn't take a shift in the final five minutes of the contest. The Oilers are already in the postseason, so it's possible the team is simply proceeding with caution. The 27-year-old is in the midst of another MVP-caliber season, notching 31 goals and 130 points across 74 games. With his likely absence on Wednesday, he is unlikely to finish ahead of both Nikita Kucherov and Nathan MacKinnon for the NHL scoring lead.

Connor McDavid Listed As Day-To-Day, Questionable For Wednesday

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid is listed as day to day with a lower-body injury and is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights. The superstar suffered the injury late in a win 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Saturday and did not take a shift in the final five minutes of the contest. "We'll find out (the severity) tomorrow, definitely the weekend, but it's day to day," Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said on Tuesday. "There is a chance [he doesn't play]. He's day to day. It's a maintenance thing." McDavid is in the midst of another MVP-caliber season, tallying 31 goals and 130 points across 74 games, sitting third in NHL scoring.

Connor McDavid Logs Four Assists In Big Win

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid had another multi-point outing on Thursday versus Buffalo, recording four assists in an 8-3 victory. He joined Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Paul Coffey as the fourth player in NHL history to have four-plus assists in at least five games in a single season. Even if he sits out the rest of the campaign, McDavid would still finish with his third-highest scoring total. He's had 112 points across 65 games, scoring 26 goals and delivering 86 assists. 18 of his points have come during McDavid's 10 March appearances as the Oilers captain continues to chase down the top spot on the league's scoring charts.

Connor McDavid Ends Goal Drought With Overtime Winner

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid did it all for the team in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime victory against St. Louis, producing two assists and the game-winning goal. With the Oilers in an early 2-0 hole, McDavid helped to set up Zach Hyman for a pair of goals, and he completed the comeback with the game-winner 4:34 into the extra frame. The strike ended a 10-game goal drought for McDavid. He's been out of luck in front of the net, but McDavid has still remained very productive, as Wednesday marked his sixth consecutive multi-assist outing. It's McDavid's best-ever multi-assist streak in the league, and only Wayne Gretzky has had a longer such stretch in league history, with an eight-game streak in 1984-85. The Oilers captain boasts 74 total helpers for the campaign and has added 22 goals in 55 games.

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid recorded his fifth consecutive multi-assist game on Monday versus Los Angeles, setting up Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard in a 4-2 win. With the effort, McDavid posted his eighth consecutive 90-point season -- Mike Bossy (9) and Wayne Gretzky (13) are the only players in NHL history with longer such streaks. In 54 games, the Oilers captain has produced 21 goals and a league-high 70 assists. Amazingly, McDavid has tallied 23 straight points via assists. He's on a 10-game goal drought ahead of Wednesday's matchup against St. Louis.

The Oilers captain picked up assists on first period goals by forwards Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, while adding another helper on forward Corey Perry's third period goal.
