Filip Hronek Regarded As Game-Time Decision For Tuesday

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek (lower body) has returned to the team and will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's contest against Winnipeg. Hronek hasn't featured for Vancouver since Nov. 27. He initially sustained a shoulder injury but has also missed time due to a lower-body ailment. Last week, Hronek spent some time with the Abbotsford Canucks in the AHL on a conditioning stint. Skating with Quinn Hughes on the first defensive pairing, Hronek has picked up nine points (one goal, eight assists) in 21 games this season. Tyler Myers will take on a reduced role when Hronek returns.

Filip Hronek To Miss Eight Weeks Of Action

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek (lower body) has been ruled out for eight weeks. He dropped out of the lineup a couple of games ago with an upper-body problem and has now undergone a procedure on a lower-body injury. Hronek has enjoyed a good campaign as part of Vancouver's first defensive pairing, posting nine points (one goal, eight assists) with 21 blocks, 36 hits, and a plus-14 rating. Noah Juulsen has taken over his role, while Vincent Desharnais has rejoined the lineup on the bottom pairing. Losing his regular partner hasn't stopped Quinn Hughes, as he's bagged five points in the two games Hronek has missed.

Filip Hronek Out "A While" With Injury

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek (upper body) is expected to miss time. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the 27-year-old will be out for "a while." Hronek was hurt late in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Pittsburgh when he crashed shoulder-first into the boards after a hit by Penguins defenceman Jack St. Ivany. The Canucks have seen Hronek's offensive numbers decline this season, but he will still be a big miss. The Czech rearguard works on the first defensive pairing, averaging 23:38 of ice time. He has totaled nine points (one goal, eight assists) in 21 games with 24 shots, 21 blocks, and 36 hits. Hronek also carries by far the team's best plus/minus with plus-14. Vincent Desharnais is expected to step into the lineup as Hronek's replacement on Friday versus Buffalo.

Filip Hronek Signs $58 Million Deal With Canucks

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek has signed an eight-year, $58 million extension with the team. He was set to become a restricted free agent before agreeing to a new deal. Hronek, a former second-round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings, had his first full season with the Canucks in 2023-24, becoming a key cog in defense, playing next to Quinn Hughes. He set several career highs during a 48-point campaign, and the 26-year-old finished just outside the top 10 in the league with a plus-33 rating across 81 games. Hronek, who will carry a $7.25 million cap hit with the extension, has totaled 205 points (35 goals, 170 assists) in 390 career games with 378 blocks and 514 hits. He has formed a well-working partnership with Hughes, and the two should offer a lot of fantasy value to managers again in the next campaign.

Filip Hronek Reaches 40-Assist Mark In Sunday's Win

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek registered his 40th assist of the season in Sunday's 2-1 road win over Anaheim. His work with Quinn Hughes helped Nils Hoglander get the scoring started just 1:37 into the game. With Hughes on 59 assists for the year, the Canucks boast two blue-liners with at least 40 assists in a season for the first time in franchise history. The two have worked superbly together on the first defensive pairing, and both players are having career years. Hronek has tallied 45 total points in 63 games, and he has also averaged one block and one hit per game while sporting a plus-32 rating.

Filip Hronek Set For Canucks Debut Thursday

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek (upper body) is expected to make his team debut on Thursday against San Jose. The Czech blue-liner joined Vancouver at the start of the month from Detroit, but he has been unavailable so far with an upper-body injury. Hronek had a great time with the Red Wings this season, registering 38 points in 60 games with 97 hits and a plus-eight rating. He could give his offensive numbers a further boost on a more prolific team.

Filip Hronek Traded To Vancouver

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired defenseman Filip Hronek (upper body) in a trade with the Detroit Red Wings. The Canucks also received a 2023 fourth-round draft pick in the deal, while giving up a 2023 first-round pick that can potentially move to 2024 and a 2023 second-round pick. Hronek himself is a former second-rounder who's enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2022-23 with 38 points in 60 games. He is currently nursing an upper-body injury and it remains to be seen when he's available to make his debut for his new team.

Filip Hronek Taken Out By Injury Tuesday

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek could only log eight minutes of action in Tuesday's clash with Ottawa, leaving the game with an upper-body injury. According to Detroit head coach Derek Lalonde, Hronek had already entered the contest with an upper-body injury, so it looks like he aggravated something. Hronek exited in the middle of the second frame and finished with a minus-one rating. The 25-year-old is among the team leaders with a plus-eight rating and has played a massive part for the Red Wings all season, posting 29 assists and 38 points in 60 games. Hronek has already matched his career high in scoring and his work also includes 122 shots on net, 97 hits and 54 blocks.

Filip Hronek Day-To-Day With An Upper-Body Injury

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek has sustained an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day by the team. Hronek, who has recorded 29 points in 40 games during a productive season, missed Friday's practice and could also be unavailable for Saturday's game against Columbus. Gustav Lindstrom replaced Hronek as Ben Chiarot's partner Friday. If he can't play on Saturday, the team will rely heavily on Moritz Seider and Jake Walman. Both players have been in good scoring form lately and should be in for a great night against a struggling team.

Filip Hronek Collects Two Assists Against Florida

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek registered two assists as the team took a 3-2 home loss Friday against Florida. He helped Jonatan Berggren to grab the opening goal just 1:04 into the game, but Florida struck back with three unanswered goals, and it wasn't until 16:17 in the third period when Detroit scored again, this time via Robby Fabbri. Hronek was actively searching for a goal as well, recording five shots on the net in 23:32 of ice time. He also had two hits in the contest. Hronek's scoring pace has dropped significantly in recent weeks, but he's still enjoying a good season with 28 points tallied across 37 appearances. He has also been a busy man on the defensive side of things, recording 63 hits and 27 blocks.

Filip Hronek Likely Available On Saturday

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek (concussion protocol) appears ready to play Saturday against Ottawa after practicing with a regular jersey Friday. The 25-year-old was hurt early in Wednesday's game against Minnesota and entered the concussion protocol, but it appears that he won't be forced to miss any games, with Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reporting that Hronek will likely play against the Senators. This is great news for Detroit, as the Czech blue-liner has been in sensational form this season, bagging 24 points in 29 games with 44 hits.

Filip Hronek Lands In Concussion Protocol

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek is in concussion protocol after taking a massive hit from Minnesota's Ryan Reaves Wednesday. Hronek's night came to a very early end, as he was out on only his second shift of the game when Reaves laid him out. It's an awful blow for the player and the team, as Hronek has been having a fantastic campaign with 24 points in 29 games. He also eats up nearly 22 minutes of ice time per game, so there's about to be a huge gap on the Detroit blue line if Hronek isn't able to make a quick return.

Filip Hronek Finishes November With 14 Points

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek tallied two assists in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout loss to Buffalo, finishing November with 14 points. It's the highest points tally by a Red Wings defenseman in a single month since seven-time Norris Trophy winner Nicklas Lidstrom posted 16 points in December 2010. Hronek had multiple points in four of his last five appearances of the month. He showed off incredible form in November, but the Czech rearguard has actually been very consistent since the very first games of the season, and now has six goals and 14 assists in 22 games with 52 shots, 31 hits, 18 blocks and a plus-11 rating.

Filip Hronek Scores Twice Versus Columbus

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek continues his productive season with a two-goal effort against Columbus. He bagged a pair of second-period goals, helping the team to a 6-1 win. The Czech blue-liner needed only four shots to get the goals and added one hit to his line with a plus-one rating in 19:20 of ice time. Hronek has quietly been one of the best defensemen in the league this season, recording four goals and 10 assists in 18 games with 40 shots, 25 hits, 15 blocks and a plus-eight rating. He still remains available in most fantasy leagues and managers should change that.

Filip Hronek, Moritz Seider Good To Go Against St. Louis

Detroit Red Wings defensemen Filip Hronek and Moritz Seider will both be in the lineup on Thursday against St. Louis. The latter was injured in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Nashville but skated at Wednesday's practice, while Hronek is deemed to be game ready despite missing yesterday's practice. The two log the most minutes per game for the team, so the Red Wings will be very happy to have the duo available. They have combined for 30 points and Seider is one of the top-scoring rookies this season with 18 points in 26 games.

Filip Hronek Set To Re-Enter Lineup On Wednesday

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek will likely re-enter the lineup for Wednesday's trip to Washington, having been a healthy scratch for two games. Gustav Lindstrom's injury has opened up a spot in Detroit's defense and Hronek skated with Nick Leddy Wednesday morning. The 23-year-old logged some heavy minutes in the first few games of the season but wasn't effective and was removed from the lineup. Hronek, who managed 26 points in 56 games last season, has one assist so far in 2021-22 with four shots, two hits and five blocks. He'll be back on the power play as well if he indeed makes his return on Wednesday.

Filip Hronek Continues Quietly Productive Season

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek recorded a power-play assist in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Panthers, extending his point streak to three games. He and Dylan Larkin set up Filip Zadina for his fourth goal of the season. Hronek has really kicked into gear this month and is now averaging a career-high 0.57 points per game. Eight of his 21 points have come via power-play assists. He skated a massive 26:30 on Tuesday and is averaging 23:32 on the ice for the season. Hronek will hurt fantasy teams with his plus/minus, but he does everything on the ice and should be on fantasy managers' radar with Detroit playing much better as of late. They have three more games still to come this week.

Filip Hronek Has Three-Point Night Against Carolina

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek matched a career high with three points in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over Carolina, scoring an empty-netter and delivering two power-play assists. Adam Erne notched the goals with the man advantage. Hronek has great offensive instincts, and he's been racking up points like there's no tomorrow as of late, averaging two points per game in his last four outings. The Czech blueliner is up to 18 points for the year in 30 games. He's not been overly productive throughout the campaign, and he will hurt you in the plus/minus column, but Hronek should be picked up right now whilst he's hot.
