Filip Chytil Questionable For Sunday

Vancouver Canucks center Filip Chytil (upper body) made an early exit against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, leaving his status uncertain for Sunday's tilt against the Utah Hockey Club. The team has not provided any updates on Chytil, who has scored six points (two goals, four assists) in 15 games since his move to Vancouver. If Chytil is unable to play against the Blackhawks, Jonathan Lekkerimaki is likely to rejoin the lineup. Lekkerimaki has been excelling in the minors, tallying 19 goals and 28 points in 32 AHL appearances this season, but he has been quiet in the NHL so far. In 15 career NHL appearances, Lekkerimaki has recorded three points (two goals, one assist) with 22 shots.

Filip Chytil Shipped To Vancouver

According to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff.com, the Vancouver Canucks are acquiring center Filip Chytil from the New York Rangers in return for J.T. Miller. In this trade, the Canucks also acquired Victor Mancini and a 2025 conditional first-round selection. In addition to Miller, the Canucks also shipped Erik Brannstrom and Jackson Dorrington to New York. Chytil has spent his entire NHL career with the Rangers after being selected with the 21st overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. In 2022, Chytil tallied a career-high 45 points (22 goals, 23 helpers) across 74 games. However, the 25-year-old has struggled to stay on the ice as he has battled numerous injuries. This season, Chytil has scored 11 goals with nine assists across 41 games. He will likely spend time on the third line with his new club and will only have value in deeper formats.

Filip Chytil Will Not Play Thursday

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (upper body) will not suit up for Thursday's clash against New Jersey. He left Tuesday's games against Boston with an upper-body injury and hasn't been able to practice. The injury-prone forward has contributed 10 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances this term. As a result of Chytil's injury, Arthur Kaliyev will come into the lineup for his Rangers debut on the third line. The 23-year-old, who was claimed off waivers on Jan. 6, has posted 71 points (35 goals, 36 assists) in 188 career appearances. Playing in Los Angeles, Kaliyev has shown that he can make an impact in limited minutes, but how well he adjusts to his new surroundings remains to be seen.

Filip Chytil Exits On Tuesday With Upper-Body Injury

According to Peter Baugh of The Athletic, New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (upper body) exited Tuesday's game early with an injury. The 25-year-old did not play during the entire third period. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to their next match on Tuesday evening, as Chytil has sustained several upper body injuries throughout his career. Earlier this season, he sustained one in November and missed seven games, and was placed on long-term injured reserve last season with a similar upper body injury. Chytil has begun to heat up offensively as he carried a four-game point streak into Tuesday's contest. If he were to miss time, Sam Carrick is a candidate to move up to the third line center role.

Filip Chytil Scores Twice On Sunday

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil scored twice in their victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday afternoon. Chytil scored his first of the afternoon in the opening minutes of the second frame on a wrist shot. Later in the third period, he would score on a deflection to seal the victory for the Rangers. This game extended his current point streak to four games. Over this stretch, he has scored four goals with one helper and averaged a solid 3.75 shots on goal per game. Overall, the 25-year-old has tallied 17 points (ten goals, seven assists) across 32 total games this season. If Chytil continues this hot stretch, he could earn himself a role in the New York top-6 which would significantly improve his fantasy value, as he currently plays in a bottom-6 role.

Filip Chytil Exits With Injury Thursday

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (upper body) suffered a new injury blow in Thursday's 3-2 victory over San Jose. He sustained an upper-body injury in the second period in a collision with teammate K'Andre Miller. Chytil went scoreless across 9:37 of action with one shot on goal. The 25-year-old has a history of head injuries, which makes his exit very concerning. Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette has labeled Chytil as day-to-day, but he is still being evaluated for the injury. A concussion limited Chytil to only 10 appearances last season. He's been in good form in 2024-25, bagging nine points (four goals, five assists) in 15 games as the third-line center.

Filip Chytil An Option To Join Top Line Friday

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil could start Game 2 against the Panthers on Friday on the top line. According to Rangers reporter Vincent Z. Mercogliano, Chytil wore the same blue jersey as first-liners Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad during the morning skate. Jack Roslovic has previously skated with the two, but he worked in the bottom-six group during the session. Health issues have limited Chytil to only 10 regular-season and two playoff appearances in 2023-24. He logged a fairly uneventful 9:17 of action in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals after returning from a three-game absence.

Filip Chytil Appears Ready To Rock For Eastern Conference Finals

New York Rangers forward Filip Chytil (illness) was a full participant in Monday's practice and is likely to return for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Florida Panthers on Wednesday. Chytil missed the final three games of New York's second-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes with an illness, which was terrible timing given he had just come back from a concussion and was only able to play in one game before being hit by the illness. The 24-year-old skated on the third line alongside Alexander Wennberg and Kaapo Kakko during practice and was also a part of the second powerplay unit. His return would be a major boost for the Rangers' depth, which will be needed against a hard-checking Florida team.

Filip Chytil Unlikely To Play In Game 5

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (illness) isn't expected to feature in Game 5 against Carolina on Monday. After missing Game 4 with an illness, Chytil was back on the ice Monday morning, but he didn't skate on any lines and stayed on late with the likely scratches for the game. Jonny Brodzinski entered the lineup for his 2024 postseason debut in Game 4. He logged 8:49 on the fourth line, finishing with two blocks. Brodzinski is expected to play again on Monday, although Matt Rempe is also an option as the Rangers try to finish off Carolina at Madison Square Garden.

Filip Chytil A Game-Time Call Saturday

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (illness) is considered a game-time decision on Saturday against Carolina. Chytil was back from a six-month absence in Game 3 of the series but might have to come out of the lineup again after waking up not feeling well on Saturday. Matt Rempe was scratched to accommodate Chytil on Thursday and will get a chance to jump back into action if Chytil isn't available for Game 4.

Filip Chytil Logs 12 Minutes In First Game In Six Months

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil made his long-awaited return to the lineup in Game 3 against the Hurricanes on Thursday, logging 12:02 of ice time in a 3-2 overtime win. After missing six months with a head injury, Chytil had a quiet outing on the offensive front with zero points and one shot on goal but registered two hits. He skated on the third line with Alex Wennberg and Kaapo Kakko. The Rangers have enjoyed a perfect 7-0 start to the postseason and should be even stronger now with Chytil, who had six points in 10 regular-season appearances.

Filip Chytil Joins Rangers For Trip To Washington

New York Rangers forward Filip Chytil (head) has traveled with the team to Washington and could return to action Friday when the two teams continue their first-round battle. The 24-year-old has been out of commission since early November. Before suffering a head injury, Chytil skated in 10 games, posting six assists. He would be a very good addition to an already strong squad that finished the NHL regular season with the best record in the league. Chytil has totaled eight goals and 13 points in 30 career playoff appearances.

Filip Chytil Ruled Out For Rest Of Season

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (upper body) will sit out the rest of the season. The news comes after Chytil had a setback in his recovery from an upper-body injury. He hasn't played since Nov. 2 and only recently returned to the U.S. after spending some time in his native Czechia. Chytil collected six assists in 10 games at the start of the season before landing on the shelf.

Filip Chytil Injured In Friday's Skate

New York Rangers forward Filip Chytil was injured and had to be helped off the ice during a skate on Friday morning. Friday was just his second skate back in New York after he returned to his native Czechia to rest and recover from a concussion suffered on Nov. 2 against the Carolina Hurricanes. Any lengthy injury would be devastating considering Chytil has missed his team's last 37 games and is still without a timetable to return from his concussion. Chytil is without a goal alongside six assists in 10 games on the season after he broke out with 22 goals and 45 points across 74 contests last season. The former first-round pick should slot into the third-line center role whenever he is able to return to game action.

Filip Chytil Returns To Rangers Practice Thursday

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (concussion) returned to practice in a non-contact jersey on Thursday. The 24-year-old hasn't appeared since suffering a concussion in a Nov. 2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes and Thursday marked his first practice back with the team. The Czechia native returned to his home country to rest and recover but arrived back in New York on Wednesday. Chytil failed to find the back of the net through his first 10 games this season but did register six assists in 15:56 of average ice time, a career-high. He broke out with 22 goals and 45 points alongside 177 shots on goal across 74 games last season, shattering previous career highs in the process. The Rangers are expected to place center Nick Bonino on waivers Thursday in anticipation of Chytil's return to the lineup, although a timetable has not yet been released.

Filip Chytil Arrives Back In New York

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (concussion) has returned back to New York after leaving the team to rehab his injury in his native Czechia. However, he is without a timeline to return to practice with the team and he has not yet been cleared to do so. "Our doctors will let us know when he's cleared," Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette said on Tuesday. The 24-year-old hasn't appeared since leaving a Nov. 2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes midway through the contest after skating 10:23 across 12 shifts. He didn't find the back of the net across his first 10 games as he sits with six assists and 22 shots on the season after a career year that saw him post 22 goals and 45 points across 74 contests a season ago.

Filip Chytil Skates With Jaromir Jagr In Czechia

New York Rangers forward Filip Chytil hit the ice with Czechia legend and former NHL superstar Jaromir Jagr on Monday in his home country. Chytil is currently sidelined with a concussion and left the Rangers to return home for his recovery. The 24-year-old hasn't appeared since suffering the injury in a Nov. 2 game against the Carolina Hurricanes. He tallied six assists across his first 10 games of the season after enjoying a career year that saw him record 22 goals and 45 points across 74 games for the Rangers last season. The former first-round pick has tallied 64 goals and 144 points across 337 career regular-season games in parts of seven NHL campaigns. He remains without a timetable to return.

Filip Chytil Injured On Thursday

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil exited Thursday's 2-1 win versus Carolina with an upper-body injury. He was limited to 10:23 of action, finishing the contest with two shots on goal. Chytil has been quiet lately and went pointless for a fourth consecutive game, but he had some fantastic outings earlier in the season and is positioned fourth in scoring among all Rangers forwards with six points in 10 games. The Czech forward is expected to undergo further evaluation on Friday. The Rangers hit the ice again Saturday versus Minnesota, and Vincent Trocheck is the likeliest candidate to take over second-line center duties in Chytil's absence.

Filip Chytil Practices In Non-Contact Jersey

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (upper body) practiced in a non-contact jersey on Saturday. The Czech forward suffered an upper-body injury in practice last week, and it's put a serious dent in his preparations for the new campaign. Returning to practice is a positive sign, but it's still unclear if Chytil can get himself game-ready for Thursday's season opener versus Buffalo. 2023-24 is expected to be a big year for Chytil as the Rangers' second-line center. Fellow center Tyler Pitlick (upper body) was also back in practice Saturday and wore a regular jersey, meaning he is set to be available for the team next week.

Filip Chytil Progressing From Upper-Body Injury

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (upper body) continued skating over the weekend and could be available again soon. Chytil got sidelined by an upper-body ailment last week, but the injury was not considered serious, and it looks like he will have no issues getting healthy for the start of the regular season. The upcoming campaign is set to be a big one for Chytil, as he's penciled in for the second-line center role. The 24-year-old took a major leap a season ago with a 45-point effort across 74 appearances, and he's primed for further improvement in 2023-24.
