The Stars managed to close the gap a couple of times, but Kartye and the Kraken eventually cruised to victory, extending the second-round series to seven games. Kartye has played a significant role in the matchup, posting two goals and two assists across the last five games. He has tallied three goals in total in the playoffs, which puts him tied for the top spot in the league among first-year players. Only Chris Kreider (5) and Eddie Mazur (4) have scored more playoff goals in the NHL prior to their regular-season debut.

Seattle Kraken forward Tye Kartye scored his first career NHL goal in Wednesday's 3-2 victory against the Avalanche in Game 5 of the Western Conference first-round series. Kartye was making his NHL debut as a result of injured forward Jared McCann being unable to suit up for the game, and the Kraken managed to come out on top and move one step closer to winning their first playoff series in franchise history. Kartye gave the Kraken a one goal lead at the halfway point of the game, while finishing with close to nine minutes of ice time in his first career game.
