Giancarlo Stanton News
New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton crushed a solo shot and went 2-3 with two RBI and a walk in the Yankees 6-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday afternoon. The 382-foot shot was Stanton's 11th HR of the season. Stanton was lackluster, by his standards, during April but has heated up in May, hitting for an .871 OPS during the month with five HR. The slugger now has a HR in three of his last four games and is one of three Yankees who have hit 11 or more HR on the season (Judge, Soto, Stanton). The 34-year-old will look to continue his hot month on Sunday when he faces off against White Sox scheduled starter Chris Flexen.
New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton hit his eighth home run of the season in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Astros, the second straight game with a home run for the slugger. The solo blast traveled 447 feet off of Astros starter Spencer Arrighetti but was Stanton's only hit in the game, finishing 1-for-4. This season has been a bit of a mixed bag as evidenced by his last 15 games, where he's hit safely in 12 of the 15, but with a batting average of just .228 during that stretch. He's got the same exact BA on the season (.228) along with 20 RBI and 18 runs scored, but an ugly 10:45 BB:K. The BA so far is actually an improvement over the last two seasons, but managers who drafted him did so for the power production, which has not been disappointing to this point.
New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton is back in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The slugger was given a rest day for Friday's game but still notched a go-ahead RBI double in extra-innings in the Yankees' 7-6 loss to the Brewers. Stanton has had a solid start to the season slashing .232/.284/.476 with five HR and 13 RBI. He'll get a matchup against Brewers right-hander Joe Ross, who Stanton is 2-10 against with a HR. With Stanton hitting for an .829 OPS against righties (compared to .658 vs lefties) he should be a viable option in DFS formats.

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton endured a down 2023 season and became a lightning rod for the Bronx faithful during a tough season for the club overall. The 34-year-old limped to a .191 average while dealing with more injuries a season ago. At the same time, he still managed 24 home runs in just 101 games and 415 trips to the plate. Of course, with Stanton, it's all about health. His last fully healthy season in 2021 contained 35 home runs, 97 RBI, and an .870 OPS. He has still homered 90 times over his last three seasons and 350 games played. He also has four home runs through his first 39 Grapefruit League plate appearances this spring while lighting up the Statcast radars, as per usual. While ATC projects 26 home runs and 67 RBI in 104 games for Stanton in 2024, he has a wealth of room to run on those projections if he can stay on the field. It's a big if, but there sure is an appetizing risk/reward scenario with what could very well be an undervalued 299.66 ADP.
