A.J. Ewing Emerging as Elite Stash Option in Week 6

New York Mets infield/outfield prospect A.J. Ewing has emerged as an elite stash option in Week 6 of the fantasy baseball season. Ewing is currently ranked as the No. 85 overall prospect in the sport and the No. 3-ranked prospect in the Mets system, according to MLB.com. He began the 2026 campaign with Double-A Binghamton, where he posted an incredible .349/.481/.571 line with six doubles, two home runs, and 12 stolen bases. This dominant start earned him a ticket to Triple-A Syracuse, where Ewing has continued to swing a scorching-hot bat. Over his first seven games at the top level of the system, Ewing has posted an eye-catching .440/.500/.560 line with one double, one triple, and four stolen bases. Given that Ewing has swiped 16 bags in 25 games this season, he should be viewed as a priority stash target for those needing speed. If he continues this pace, he could arrive in Queens before the All-Star break.

A.J. Ewing a Must-Stash Prospect Ahead of Inevitable Debut

New York Mets center field prospect A.J. Ewing is hitting .388 with 16 steals and more walks than strikeouts, making him a must-add fantasy option on the waiver wire. Drafted out of high school in 2023, Ewing has already progressed from Double-A to Triple-A this year. The Mets won't rush him up to the majors until he's had a sufficiently large sample size at Triple-A, but once that time comes, there's no reason to hold him down in the minors. Between Binghamton and Syracuse this year, he's slashing .388/.500/.588 with two home runs, 16 steals, a 18.9% walk rate, a 16.0% strikeout rate, and 189 wRC+. He's 11-for-22 since his promotion to Triple-A, and he owns a 10-game on-base streak. He doesn't have much power, but the rest of his offensive profile is spectacular. He has elite plate discipline, posting a 79.6% in-zone swing rate (96th percentile) and a 14.3% chase rate (98th percentile). Fantasy managers should rush to add Ewing off the waiver wire before their leaguemates take notice and it's too late.

A.J. Ewing Sitting at the Top of the Stash List Following Triple-A Promotion?

The New York Mets promoted infield prospect A.J. Ewing to Triple-A Syracuse earlier this week, and he is quickly entering high-end stash territory for fantasy baseball. Ewing is ranked as the team's No. 3 prospect on MLB.com and the No. 87 overall prospect in the sport. Ewing began the 2026 campaign with Double-A Binghampton and held an elite .349/.481/.571 slash line with six doubles, two home runs, and an eye-catching 12 stolen bases. In his Triple-A debut, Ewing wasted little time, tallying three hits, including a double and a triple. Last season, Ewing began the campaign in Low-A but progressed to Double-A by the end of the second half. Over 124 total games in the system last summer, Ewing looked just as comfortable, holding a .315/.401/.429 slash line with 26 doubles and 70 stolen bases. Seeing Ewing tap into his power while maintaining his high-end speed suggests he has a strong profile for fantasy. While he may need a moderately lengthy stint at Triple-A to finish his development, he remains in play to debut in Queens in the near future.

A.J. Ewing Gets Promoted to Triple-A, Will He Debut in 2026?

New York Mets outfield prospect A.J. Ewing picked up right where he left off at Double-A last year and quickly earned a promotion to Triple-A on Monday. The Mets' third-ranked prospect slashed .339/.371/.430 with 12 steals in 28 games at Double-A in 2025, and this season, he was hitting .349 with a phenomenal .481 on-base percentage thanks to an otherworldly 21.0 percent walk rate (which was better than his 18.5 percent strikeout rate), and together with his .571 slugging percentage, was posting a 1.053 OPS through 18 games at the time of his promotion. The 5-foot-10 speedster had already tallied 12 stolen bases as well, and will now get to test his talents against Triple-A pitching. If the left-handed slugger can continue to hit at the minors' highest level, he'll be knocking on the door to the majors and could get the call to the majors later this year. His current power likely won't result in many home runs, but combined with his plus speed, he could collect plenty of extra-base hits and become a multi-category fantasy contributor. With the state of the Mets' offense at the moment, all options should be on the table, and that should put Ewing on the redraft radar. The 21-year-old is not stashworthy yet, but managers in deep leagues should keep an eye on his progress in Syracuse.

Mets Prospect A.J. Ewing Promoted to Triple-A

The New York Mets promoted outfield prospect A.J. Ewing to Triple-A Syracuse this week, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Per MLB Pipeline, Ewing is the Mets' third-ranked prospect. Ewing got the call to Syracuse after going 22-for-63 (.349) with two home runs, six doubles, a triple, seven RBI, 12 stolen bases, and 16 runs scored in just 18 games at Double-A Binghamton. In 2025, the 21-year-old ranked fourth in the minor leagues with 70 stolen bases while also slashing .315/.401/.429 with an .830 OPS, three home runs, 55 RBI, and 87 runs scored in 124 games at three different minor-league levels. Not only can Ewing fly on the base paths, but he has raised his walk rate early this year. If Ewing continues to excel at Triple-A, the former fourth-round selection in 2023, we could see him up in the big leagues for the first time later this year. Long-term, Ewing could have a similar profile to Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner, just in the outfield and with better speed.

A.J. Ewing a Name to Watch in Mets Pipeline

New York Mets shortstop prospect A.J. Ewing is progressing quite quickly through the minor leagues and is a name to keep a close eye on during the 2026 campaign. Ewing joined the Mets in the 2023 Draft out of Springboro HS. The 21-year-old began the 2025 campaign with Low-A but was able to finish the season with Double-A Binghamton. At Low-A, Ewing posted an incredible .400/.506/.615 slash line with one long ball and 14 stolen bases, across a brief 18-game stint. Through his first 78 games at High-A Brooklyn, Ewing held a .288/.387/.388 line with 16 doubles, four home runs, and 44 stolen bases. He would finish the campaign at Double-A, where he would continue to hit for a high average (.339) while showing high speed, stealing 12 bags over a short 28-game stint. While he will likely open 2026 at Double-A, he is an emerging bat in the system and could reach Triple-A much sooner than expected.

A.J. Ewing Excelling at Double-A, Hit Streak Now at 12 Games

New York Mets infield/outfield prospect A.J. Ewing delivered his second consecutive three-hit performance on Wednesday for Double-A Binghamton, extending his current hit streak to 12 games for the Rumble Ponies. During that time, he's gone 25-for-53 (.472), and is now slashing .386/.424/.482 at that level with 11 steals in 19 games. After starting out the season at Single-A, he was promoted to High-A, and now he's performing at Double-A. In all, the Mets' seventh-ranked prospect owns a .322/.412/.438 slash line with 25 doubles, nine triples, three home runs, 69 steals, and a strong 12.8 percent walk rate complemented by a better-than-average 17.7 percent strikeout rate. If he can grow into more power, he's got some mult-category fantasy potential in his bat and is an under-the-radar prospect for dynasty managers to consider.

A.J. Ewing Promoted to Double-A Binghamton

New York Mets infield/outfield prospect A.J. Ewing has been promoted to Double-A Binghamton. The Mets' eighth-ranked prospect played 18 games at Single-A and 78 at High-A before his promotion, registering a .288/.387/.388 slash line with a pair of home runs and 44 steals during his time with Brooklyn. The 21-year-old also recorded a solid strikeout rate of 18.8 percent and a well-above-average walk rate of 13.1 percent with the Cyclones. He's played second base and every outfield position so far this year, so there are multiple pathways for him to continue to climb, and although he somewhat lacks in the power department, the speed helps to offset it. If he can continue to grow into additional power, there will certainly be added fantasy intrigue, so it's worth keeping an eye on how he performs for the rest of the year and into next year.

A.J. Ewing Showing Speed Upside At High-A

New York Mets infield prospect A.J. Ewing is continuing to showcase his speed upside at High-A. Through his first eight games at the level, Ewing has stolen seven bags and held a .294/.351/.382 slash line. Ewing has tallied two doubles and held an 8:3 K:BB. Ewing opened the campaign with Low-A St. Lucie, where he swiped 14 bags in just 18 contests. During this stretch, the No. 28-ranked prospect in the system held a .400/.506/.615 slash line with three doubles, four triples, and a long ball. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 20-year-old's progression, as he appears to be moving through the minor leagues fairly quickly. If he continues to hit for a high average and showcase his ability on the basepaths, he could reach Double-A in the coming months.
