McLean served up two walks and allowed two hits. Through his first 18 innings of work at the Triple-A level, McLean has looked quite sharp, holding a 2.00 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. Across this stint, he has tallied 17 punchouts and allowed just eight walks. Earlier in the summer, McLean tossed 26 1/3 innings to the tune of a 1.37 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP at Double-A. During this stint, the 23-year-old struck out batters and allowed just 12 free passes. New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Nolan McLean enjoyed an impressive outing in his Triple-A debut on Friday evening. Facing Triple-A Jacksonville, McLean struck out seven batters across seven shutout frames. He did not allow a walk. He allowed seven hits. The No. 5-ranked prospect in the system enjoyed a strong start to the season at Double-A and appears to have carried his momentum into the top level of the minor leagues. Through 26 1/3 innings with Double-A Binghamton, the right-hander posted a stellar 1.37 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. During this stretch, he struck out 30 batters. Last summer, McLean spent most of his time with Double-A, where he posted a modest 4.19 ERA. Given his impressive start to the season, the Oklahoma State product should be in the mix to get the call to Queens in the coming months.

Nolan McLean Promoted To Triple-A

The New York Mets are promoting right-handed pitching prospect Nolan McLean to Triple-A Syracuse. Across this stint, he has struck out 30 batters and served up 12 free passes. During this stint, he did not allow a home run. This is an excellent sign as McLean held a modest 4.19 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP across 81 2/3 innings of work at Double-A during the 2024 campaign. Nolan McLean Promoted To Double-A

The New York Mets have promoted two-way prospect Nolan McLean to Double-A Binghamton. The 2023 third-round draft pick had a 2.57 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and a 23.2% K-BB% for Single-A Brooklyn over seven starts. As a designated hitter, the 22-year-old was batting .224 and leading the Cyclones with five home runs over 67 at-bats. It's hard to say if he'll make it as a hitter, posting a whopping 51.4% strikeout rate this season at Single-A, but as a pitcher he is already scheduled to make a start this Wednesday against Philadelphia's Double-A affiliate, Reading.

Nolan McLean Hits Fourth Home Run Of The Season

New York Mets third base prospect Nolan McLean went 3-for-5 at the plate on Wednesday and hit his fourth home run of the season. McLean has posted a strong .280/.321/.660 slash line through his first 18 games at High-A. The 22-year-old only appeared in five games at Single-A last year, but the Mets decided that he should begin this season immediately in High-A. However, even though McLean has found success at the plate, he is striking out at a very high rate with a 26:3 K:BB. McLean will have to lower this immensely before he has the opportunity to reach Double-A this summer. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy is projected to reach the major leagues in 2026 and could become a name to monitor in dynasty leagues down the road.
