Aaron Judge Not Putting a Timetable on his Return

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (rib), who was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a stress fracture in his rib, said he doesn't "like talking timetables... That stuff's all made up." Judge said he thinks he sustained the injury on an awkward dive in Houston back in April. The 34-year-old three-time MVP won't be re-evaluated for another four to six weeks, so fantasy managers have to prepare for the possibility that the superstar outfielder won't be back until after the mid-July All-Star break. In the meantime, with Giancarlo Stanton (calf) and Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) still on the injured list, rookie outfielder Spencer Jones is back with the big-league club to provide outfield depth in the Bronx. Jones will start in right field and bat sixth for the Bombers in Friday's series opener against the division-rival Boston Red Sox and right-hander Sonny Gray at Yankee Stadium. Despite an extended absence for Judge, he should not be dropped in any fantasy baseball leagues. He heads to the IL with a 2.48/.375/.533 slash line, .907 OPS, 17 homers, 38 RBI, 43 runs, and five stolen bases in 214 at-bats.

Yankees Officially Place Aaron Judge on Injured List With Fractured Rib

The New York Yankees officially announced on Friday that they placed outfielder Aaron Judge (rib) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to June 2) with a stress fracture of his right rib and recalled rookie outfielder Spencer Jones from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Judge will be out for an extended period of time and won't be re-evaluated for another four to six weeks. Depending on how he recovers, there's a good chance we won't see the superstar slugger until after the All-Star break in mid-July. The injury to Judge will put a real strain on New York's outfield, as they are already missing Giancarlo Stanton (calf) and Jasson Dominguez (shoulder). Jones, who has light-tower power from the left side, will get a second shot in the Bronx this year after struggling following his first MLB call-up. Judge heads to the IL with a .248/.375/.533 slash line, .907 OPS, 17 homers, 38 RBI, 43 runs scored, and five steals in 214 at-bats. He obviously should not be dropped in any fantasy leagues while he recovers.

Aaron Judge Diagnosed with Stress Fracture, Out 4-6 Weeks

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (rib) has been diagnosed with a stress fracture of his first rib on his right side. The Yankees have announced that Judge is going to be sidelined 4-6 weeks because of this issue. The superstar slugger needs a rest period before the team can do more imaging. Judge will head to the Injured List, which is obviously going to be a huge blow to this lineup. He's going to need time to ramp back up as well, so fantasy managers should expect to be without Judge for an extended period of time. The MVP slugger is irreplaceable, but the assumption is that Max Schuemann, Jose Caballero, and possibly Spencer Jones will get a look in right field while Judge is sidelined. As mentioned, Judge needs a recovery window before more tests can be done, so fantasy managers will need to stay tuned for more updates on his status in the coming weeks.

Aaron Judge Missing Third Straight Game on Thursday

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (ribs, shoulder) is missing a third straight game on Thursday in the series finale in the Bronx against the Cleveland Guardians, per MLB.com. Max Schuemann will make the start in right field for the Yankees and will bat ninth against Guardians right-hander Slade Cecconi. Judge is considered day-to-day for now, but he was scheduled to be sent for more testing on what the Yankees are calling a bone bruise in his ribs that is causing soreness in his right shoulder. Until we know more, there's a chance the superstar outfielder will need a stint on the 10-day injured list, so fantasy managers need to plan accordingly. The 34-year-old three-time MVP's recent struggles -- .163 average with one homer, seven walks, and 15 strikeouts in his last 13 games -- could be attributed to his health issue. With Giancarlo Stanton (calf) and Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) still on the IL, the Yankees are dangerously thin in their outfield. If Judge goes on the IL, left-handed-hitting outfield prospect Spencer Jones could return to the majors.

Aaron Judge to Undergo Additional Imaging

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (ribs) will undergo additional imaging on his ribcage. Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed the team will do extra testing for more specific spots in his right ribcage. Judge has been dealing with shoulder soreness that was determined to be from a bone bruise in his ribs. He has missed the last two games and could very well be headed for a stint on the Injured List. The Yankees want to do more testing and see what they're dealing with before deciding on the next steps for Judge. For now, the superstar slugger should be considered day-to-day. Fantasy managers should get more clarity on the situation at some point on Thursday.

Aaron Judge Out Again With Rib/Shoulder Injury

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (rib, shoulder) will miss a second straight start on Wednesday against the visiting Cleveland Guardians, according to MLB.com. Utility man Jose Caballero will make another start in right field in the Bronx and will bat sixth against Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams. Judge is currently considered day-to-day with a rib/shoulder injury that he's been playing through for a while now. It's unclear if the injury is serious enough to potentially send the 34-year-old three-time MVP to the 10-day injured list. It could help explain why Judge has hit just .163 (8-for-49) with only one home run, two doubles, eight RBI, five runs scored, seven walks, and 15 strikeouts in 13 games since May 17 to drop his season slash line to .248/.375/.533. Check back on Thursday to see if Judge is feeling good enough to return to the starting nine for the series finale against the Guards. The Yankees can ill-afford to send another outfielder to the IL, with both Giancarlo Stanton (calf) and Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) still out. UPDATE: Manager Aaron Boone said that Judge will go for further testing, per Chris Kirschner of The Athletic.

Aaron Judge Out on Tuesday With Rib/Shoulder Injury

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that outfielder Aaron Judge (ribs) has a bone bruise in his right rib area that impacts him when he swings, which is why he's not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the visiting Cleveland Guardians, according to Jack Curry of YES Network. Judge has been dealing with nagging soreness for a couple of weeks, but Boone said the hope is that it was caught early and won't be a long-term injury. The Athletic's Brendan Kuty reports that Judge is dealing with "shoulder soreness." Fantasy managers should consider the 34-year-old superstar to be day-to-day for now, but hopefully, he can return to the starting lineup in the Bronx at some point during the series versus Cleveland. Jose Caballero is starting in right field for the Yanks and will hit eighth against Guardians left-hander Joey Cantillo, with Anthony Volpe starting at short and hitting sixth. Perhaps Judge's injury is a big reason why he's gone just 7-for-41 (.171) with a homer, two doubles, eight RBI, four runs, six walks, and 14 strikeouts in 11 games since May 19. UPDATE: Judge, who is considered day-to-day, is likely to visit with a specialist on Wednesday.

Aaron Judge Remains One of the Most Elite Players in Fantasy Baseball

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge has been tearing the cover off the baseball in 2026, leading the league in home runs with 16 and sixth in RBI with 30. His Baseball Savant Page is covered in red with most of his underlying hitting metrics ranking in the 93rd percentile or better. Judge is delivering for fantasy managers on his consensus top 3 pick in most fantasy drafts earlier this spring, and is on pace for delivering north of 50 home runs, 100 RBI, and 100 runs scored once again. The one area where he has been struggling a bit compared to years prior is his strikeout rate, which is up to 29.3 percent this year, up from 23.6 percent in 2025 and 24.3 percent in 2024. That said, he still makes up for it with a 17.7 percent walk rate, which is in the 96th percentile in all of MLB. At 34-years-old, Judge remains the best outfielder in the game and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Aaron Judge Launches Eighth Home Run on Thursday

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge went 1-for-4 with his major-league-leading eighth home run of the season and a strikeout in the team's 11-4 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Angels on Thursday in the Bronx. Judge and Angels star outfielder Mike Trout put on an impressive display of back-and-forth power in the four-game series at Yankee Stadium this week. The 33-year-old three-time MVP hit a pair of home runs in Monday's victory over the Halos and then added his eighth dinger of the year in the series finale. Judge wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders at the start of the 2026 season, but he's beginning to heat up and is now hitting .236 with a .918 OPS through 19 games played. The seven-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger winner also has 14 RBI, three stolen bases, and 16 runs scored for the Yankees. Fantasy managers will be hoping that Judge can continue his elite power display going into this weekend's series against the visiting Kansas City Royals. Judge is always a must-start in fantasy leagues.

Aaron Judge Homers Twice on Monday in Win Over Angels

The ball was flying out of Yankee Stadium on Monday night in the New York Yankees' 11-10 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Angels. Superstar outfielder Aaron Judge unsurprisingly took advantage, going 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, and a strikeout. Judge's first homer came in the bottom of the first inning, when he took left-handed starter Yusei Kikuchi deep. It was the 37-year-old's 47th multi-homer game of his career and his first this season. The 33-year-old three-time MVP and seven-time All-Star has 50-plus home runs in each of the last two seasons and is already leading baseball with six home runs in his first 16 games of the 2026 campaign. In addition to his six homers, Judge is slashing .233/.333/.550 with an .883 OPS, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored, and three stolen bases in 70 plate appearances. Judge is a beast at the plate and remains one of the top fantasy baseball assets in the game. Monday night's performance reminded us of that.
