Jasson Dominguez Could Start a Rehab Assignment Next Week

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) suffered a left-shoulder AC joint sprain when he crashed into the outfield wall while making a catch on May 7 and was placed on the 10-day injured list a day later. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection on May 11 and advanced from pool and weight-room activities to hitting off a tee on May 20. Dominguez did more tee and toss work on May 22 and could start a minor-league rehab assignment in the first week of June, according to MLB.com. Barring a setback once Dominguez resumes playing in games in the minors, he could potentially be ready to rejoin the major-league roster by the end of next weekend or the following week. Giancarlo Stanton (calf) is going slower in his rehab, so Dominguez could have an opening for some playing time in the Bronx when he's reinstated. The 23-year-old switch-hitting Dominican didn't make the Opening Day roster and has appeared in only nine games this year, going 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer and four RBI. The former top prospect isn't guaranteed anything upon his return, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him go back to the minors, too.

Jasson Dominguez Feeling Better, Increasing his Activities

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) is doing better after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection, according to the New York Daily News' Gary Phillips. Domiguez has been swinging in the pool and working out in the weight room as he works his way back from an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder that he suffered during an outstanding catch when he crashed into the outfield wall back on May 7. The 23-year-old had a PRP shot on May 13 and is trending in the right direction, but the Martian isn't expected to be ready to come off the 10-day injured list until early June, at the earliest. Veteran outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (calf) is also on the IL, so rookie outfielder Spencer Jones has been playing regularly in the Bronx against right-handed pitchers, although he's hitting just .167 (3-for-18) with two RBI, three walks, and nine strikeouts in his first seven MLB games. Dominguez won't be guaranteed regular playing time in New York when he's activated, and he could be sent back down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Dominican switch-hitter went 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer, four RBI, and three runs scored in only nine games with the Yankees before getting hurt.

Jasson Dominguez Receives Injection, Still a Few Weeks Away

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his left shoulder, manager Aaron Boone told Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Dominguez is clear of concussion symptoms, but Boone said it will still probably be a few weeks before he can play again. The 23-year-old former top prospect made an outstanding play in the outfield for the Yankees last week, but he slammed into the outfield wall in the process and sprained the AC joint in his left shoulder. Thankfully, the Martian cleared the concussion protocol, but he will be sidelined for a few more weeks as he heals. With Giancarlo Stanton (calf) also on the 10-day injured list, the Yankees called up outfield prospect Spencer Jones for the first time over the weekend. By the time Dominguez is ready to return, Stanton could be back for the Yankees as well, which would complicate Dominguez's path to regular playing time in the Bronx. The Dominican switch-hitter did not make the Opening Day roster and went 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer, four RBI, and three runs in nine games for the Yanks before getting hurt. He's rostered in only 10% of Yahoo leagues right now.

Jasson Dominguez to Go on Injured List With Shoulder Sprain

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) made an excellent play early in Thursday's victory against the visiting Texas Rangers in the Bronx when he crashed into the outfield wall, but it was a costly one. Manager Aaron Boone said Dominguez tested negative for a concussion after being removed from the game, but he does have a low-grade AC sprain in his shoulder and will land on the 10-day injured list, according to The Athletic's Chris Kirschner. It could be worse, but the man they call the Martian will miss at least a few weeks. With outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (calf) also still on the IL, the Yankees could call up outfield prospect Spencer Jones from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, making him a stash candidate in redraft leagues for his power upside from the left side of the plate. By the time Dominguez is ready to return from the IL, Stanton could be back with the Yankees, which would make it tougher for him to find regular playing time in the Bronx. The 23-year-old Dominican has only played in eight games for the Yanks so far this year and has gone 6-for-30 (.200) at the plate with a homer and four RBI. Dominguez is rostered in just 20% of Yahoo leagues and is not a must-hold in mixed formats now that he's injured.

Jasson Dominguez Exits Early on Thursday After Colliding with Outfield Wall

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (shoulder, head) was removed in the first inning of his team's game on Thursday against the Texas Rangers after colliding with the left field wall. Per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, Dominguez has been placed in concussion protocol and will also undergo an MRI on his left shoulder. The 23-year-old began the year in Triple-A but earned a promotion to the big leagues after Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (calf) was placed on the 10-day injured list on April 25. Across 32 plate appearances with New York, Dominguez hit .200/.250/.367 with one home run, four RBI, and three runs scored. The former top prospect offers the potential for five-category fantasy contribution, but he's struggled to log an extended run of everyday MLB playing time due to injuries and defensive concerns. Should Dominguez require a trip to the injured list, Yankees outfield prospect Spencer Jones could be the next man up in New York.

Jasson Dominguez Back in Yankees Lineup on Saturday

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (elbow) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth in the lineup for Saturday's game against the visiting Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Kyle Bradish, according to MLB.com. Dominguez suffered a left-elbow contusion on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers when he was hit by a pitch, which forced him to miss the series opener on Friday against Baltimore. The 23-year-old former top prospect is now back in the lineup this weekend to face Bradish, whom he has gone hitless against in three career at-bats. This will be Dominguez's fourth game in the big leagues this year after being called up from the minors earlier this week when Giancarlo Stanton (calf) went on the 10-day injured list. Dominguez should play regularly while Stanton is out between the outfield and DH. In his first three games this season with the Yanks, Dominguez has gone 1-for-9 at the plate with two strikeouts.

Jasson Dominguez Remains Out of Yankees Lineup on Friday

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (elbow) remains out of the team's starting lineup for Friday's series opener in the Bronx against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles, according to MLB.com. Ben Rice is serving as the designated hitter and is batting second, while Paul Goldschmidt is at first base and hitting leadoff for the Yanks. Dominguez was hit by a pitch on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers and left early with a left-elbow contusion. He had the day off to rest on Thursday for a travel day. Dominguez remains out on Friday, but it could just be because the Orioles are expected to start left-hander Cade Povich. Fantasy managers should consider Dominguez to be day-to-day and check back on Saturday to see if he's back in the starting nine. The 23-year-old former top prospect has an opportunity for at least regular playing time in New York against right-handers with Giancarlo Stanton (calf) currently on the injured list. Dominguez is currently rostered in only 15% of Yahoo leagues and has gone 1-for-9 in just three games played at the big-league level this year. UPDATE: A CT scan on Dominguez's left elbow came back negative, so he could be available off the bench for the Yankees on Friday night.

Jasson Dominguez Dealing With Elbow Contusion, to Have CT Scan

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (elbow) said that X-rays were inconclusive after he suffered a left-elbow contusion in Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Dominguez will undergo a CT scan on Thursday in New York. The switch-hitting Dominican was hit by a pitch from right-hander Nathan Eovaldi and finished 0-for-1 at the plate in the eventual 3-0 shutout loss. He was replaced in left field by Max Schuemann. Until we know more about the severity of Dominguez's elbow injury, fantasy managers will want to consider him day-to-day. The 23-year-old former top prospect recently became an option off the waiver wire due to Giancarlo Stanton (calf) landing on the 10-day injured list. Dominguez was playing in just his third game of the season for the Yanks after being called up earlier this week. In his first two games, he went 1-for-8 at the plate with two strikeouts. Dominguez's fantasy value going forward will be determined by whether he's forced to miss more time with his elbow injury. He's currently rostered in just 20% of Yahoo leagues.

Yankees Call Up Jasson Dominguez, Worth an Add After Dominant Start at Triple-A?

The New York Yankees have called up outfielder Jasson Dominguez after a dominant start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Dominguez hit .306 with an .875 OPS and three home runs in 22 games, earning another opportunity with the first-place Yankees. The 23-year-old has flashed impact tools since debuting in 2023, but he has not yet delivered consistent production in the majors. Dominguez slashed .257/.331/.388 across 123 games last season and was left off the Opening Day roster this year. This promotion gives him a fresh chance to translate his minor league momentum into everyday value. If he starts quickly, Dominguez could secure a meaningful role in a potent Yankees lineup.

Jasson Dominguez Optioned to Triple-A

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Dominguez was having a strong spring training at the plate, but he just got caught in a numbers game for the major-league roster with all of Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Trent Grisham healthy and ready for Opening Day next week. The 23-year-old that they call The Martian will surely be up in the big leagues at some point in 2026, but starting in the minor leagues is now what his fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues were expecting. The Dominican outfielder hit .342 (13-for-38) with three home runs, 10 RBI, nine runs scored, and three stolen bases in 42 plate appearances over 13 Grapefruit League games. In his first full big-league season in 2025, Dominguez hit .257/.331/.388 with a .719 OPS, 10 homers, 47 RBI, 58 runs scored, and 23 stolen bases in 123 games played. His redraft stock is obviously way down, but Dominguez remains a high-upside stash candidate in deeper leagues as a toolsy outfielder with plenty of upside if he can ever find regular playing time in the Bronx or elsewhere.
