Jasson Dominguez News
New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery on Wednesday. The procedure also included internal bracing on his right throwing elbow. The recovery time is expected to take nine or 10 months for the talented youngster, which would put him at a return around June or July next year. Dominguez has all the tools to be a five-category contributor and showed promise in his brief time with the big club. The injury is a setback, but hopefully he comes back strong and can help fantasy managers in the second half of next season.
New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez (elbow) will have Tommy John surgery on his right elbow to fix a torn UCL and is expected to be out for nine to 10 months, according to manager Aaron Boone. Dominguez, the club's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, recently made his major-league debut and went 8-for-31 (.258) with four home runs, seven RBI, a stolen base and six runs scored in just eight games. The 20-year-old Dominican switch-hitter they call "The Martian" has incredible upside and will still be worth stashing in most fantasy leagues in 2024, despite the fact that he probably won't make his season debut until around midseason next year. In 109 games for Double-A Somerset in 2023, he hit .254/.367/.414 with 15 homers, 66 RBI, 37 stolen bases and 83 runs scored in 507 trips to the plate.
New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (elbow) is likely to miss all of the first half of the 2024 season after he was diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow over the weekend that will require surgery. The switch-hitting prospect has a bright future and become the youngest player in Yankees history since Mickey Mantle to homer and steal a base in the same game before his injury. Manager Aaron Boone said the 20-year-old's recovery will likely take nine to 10 months. Dominguez also became the youngest player in the modern era (since 1900) to homer in four of his first seven games. Dominguez slashed .258/.303/.677 with four homers, a double, seven RBI and a stolen base in his first eight major-league games. Despite being set to miss the first half in 2024, Dominguez will be worth stashing in all fantasy leagues next year.
