Mets
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (foot) said after the loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Sunday night that he has been dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot since May. Nimmo aggravated the injured in Game 3 of the NL Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies, but he played in Game 1 of the NLCS against the Dodgers and is starting in left field and batting third on Tuesday for Game 2 against right-handed opener Ryan Brasier. He went 0-for-3 on Sunday night and was pinch hit for in the ninth inning. The injury doesn't bother him much while hitting or throwing, but it gives him pain while running. Through Sunday's Game 1, Nimmo is hitting .241 with a home run, a .353 on-base percentage and a .698 OPS in the postseason. In his only career at-bat against Brasier, Nimmo had an RBI double.

Brandon Nimmo Tallies Two RBI In Game 1 Victory
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk in their victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Nimmo was quiet at the plate until the eighth inning when he knocked a single to left field, which brought in the eventual game-winning run. Later in that inning he was able to score off a J.D. Martinez single. Then, in the ninth, Nimmo hit his second single to bring in an additional run to increase their lead. The 31-year-old has now tallied at least one hit in every playoff game, providing a great spark at the top of the New York lineup. Nimmo remains a solid pick in DFS formats on Sunday when he will face Philadelphia southpaw Cristopher Sanchez, who carries a 3.32 ERA.

Brandon Nimmo Delivers Two Extra-Base Hits, Knocks In Three
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo had a nice day at the dish on Thursday, going 2-for-5 with a homer, a double, and three RBI in a 10-6 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Nimmo took Taijuan Walker deep in the third with a runner on and then doubled in a run in the fourth. Despite this solid effort, the 31-year-old has been struggling since July, posting OPS's of .607, .684, and .610 in the three months since. The Mets will hope Nimmo can turn things around heading into the postseason, but for fantasy managers Nimmo isn't a must-start option outside of points leagues.

Brandon Nimmo Back For The Mets
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (shoulder) is back in left field and is batting third on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Dean Kremer at Citi Field. A right-shoulder injury caused the Mets to pull Nimmo prematurely from Sunday's contest, and he missed the series opener against Baltimore on Monday, but Nimmo is back in there for Game 2 of the series. The 31-year-old veteran outfielder has hit for only a .229 clip (100-for-437) this year, but he does still have a useful .343 on-base percentage, 18 home runs and 11 stolen bases, not to mention 71 RBI and 70 runs. During his current three-game hitting streak, he's gone 4-for-12 (.333) with two homers, a triple and four RBI. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups on Tuesday, especially against a right-handed pitcher.

Brandon Nimmo Out On Monday; MRI Comes Back Clean
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (shoulder) is out of the starting lineup on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles at Citi Field, but the good news is that his MRI exam came back clean, according to manager Carlos Mendoza. The Mets are calling Nimmo day-to-day after he was pulled from Sunday's game early with shoulder discomfort. It's possible that the 31-year-old outfielder will be back in action as early as Game 2 of the series against the O's on Tuesday. With Nimmo out on Monday, Tyrone Taylor is in left field and will bat eighth against Orioles left-hander Trevor Rogers. Taylor has three hits in 10 career at-bats against Rogers, but he'll give DFS gamers a low ceiling because of his spot in the eight-hole. Nimmo is currently riding a three-game hitting streak but has also missed time recently due to an illness and has gone 4-for-25 (.160) with two homers, a triple, five RBI and eight strikeouts in his last seven games.

Brandon Nimmo Leaves Game With Shoulder Discomfort
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo left Sunday's game against the Miami Marlins with shoulder discomfort according to the team. Nimmo was 1-for-3 with a solo home run before exiting the contest early. It will be worth monitoring this injury to see if it is something more serious than it sounds. Nimmo is hitting .229/.343/.414 with 18 homers and 71 RBI this season. The slash line numbers are well below his career marks as he has struggled a bit this year, especially with the batting average.

Brandon Nimmo Back In Mets Lineup
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (illness) is feeling better and is back in left field while hitting third for the Mets in Friday's series opener against the division-rival Miami Marlins and right-hander Roddery Munoz at Citi Field. A stomach bug caused Nimmo to sit out of Thursday's series finale against the Oakland Athletics, but the 31-year-old outfielder is feeling better and will be back in action to start the weekend series against the Fish. He'll be hoping to pick it up offensively, as Nimmo has gone hitless in 13 at-bats in his last four games, although he has drawn four walks. He's also gone hitless in four career at-bats against Munoz. The former first-rounder has hit just .226 (96-for-425) on the year but has managed to get on base at a solid .342 clip with 16 homers, 67 RBI and 11 stolen bases for fantasy managers.

Brandon Nimmo Out With Stomach Bug
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (illness) has a stomach bug and is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the Oakland Athletics at Citi Field. "He didn't get much sleep last night," manager Carlos Mendoza said. With Nimmo resting on Thursday, Jesse Winker will make the start in left field for the Mets and will bat cleanup against A's right-hander Mitch Spence. Jeff McNeil will also start in right field and bat seventh. Nimmo could probably use a break, as he's gone hitless in his last 17 plate appearances over four games with an RBI and four strikeouts. The 31-year-old veteran has hit just .226 (96-for-425) on the year but has still managed a strong .342 on-base percentage with 16 homers, 67 RBI and 11 stolen bases for his fantasy managers. Check back to see if he's feeling better for Friday's series opener against the Miami Marlins.

Brandon Nimmo Sitting Against A Southpaw
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo will head to the bench for Thursday's series finale at Coors Field against the hosting Colorado Rockies with left-hander Austin Gomber on the mound. With Nimmo getting a breather, Tyrone Taylor will make the start in left field for the Mets and will bat ninth against Gomber. Taylor has limited DFS upside out of the nine-hole for Thursday's slate of games, but the Coors Field factor is intriguing, as well as the fact that he's taken Gomber deep in his only career at-bat against him. Against lefties in 2024, Taylor has hit just .185 (15-for-81) with one of his six home runs and 21 strikeouts in 86 plate appearances. Nimmo has actually hit much better against southpaws this year, slashing .283/.362/.478, but with only four of his 16 long balls in 2024.

Brandon Nimmo Leaves After Fouling Ball Off His Foot
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (foot) was replaced by Ben Gamel in left field in the seventh inning of Wednesday's loss to the visiting Minnesota Twins. Nimmo was in serious pain after fouling a pitch off his left foot in the sixth inning and initially stayed in to strike out in the at-bat before being replaced the following inning. Before hitting the showers early, Nimmo went hitless in three at-bats with two strikeouts to drop his season average to .232 and his OPS to .763. The 31-year-old will surely go for X-rays on his foot, so fantasy managers will want to check back later for more information. If Nimmo avoids any fractures, it's possible he'll be back in there for Friday's series opener on the road against the hosting Los Angeles Angels after a scheduled day off on Thursday. He came into Wednesday's contest hitting just .234 but has contributed 16 homers, 65 RBI, 63 runs scored, a .352 on-base percentage and a career-high 10 stolen bases in 101 games. UPDATE: X-rays came back negative on Nimmo's foot, and he's considered day-to-day, according to manager Carlos Mendoza.
