Bryce Miller has Been Outstanding, Should be Rostered in More Leagues

Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller didn't make his 2026 season debut until the middle of May due to injury, but since returning, the 27-year-old has been outstanding for the Mariners. The former fourth-round selection in 2021 out of Texas A&M University has gone 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA (2.47 FIP) and 0.78 WHIP with 29 strikeouts and five walks in five outings (four starts). Miller was superb in his last outing on June 6 against the Detroit Tigers, when he threw six scoreless innings with only one hit allowed, two walks, and a season-high nine strikeouts. He hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his five appearances for Seattle so far this season and appears to be fully healthy after injuries limited him to just 18 starts in 2025 in his third full year in the big leagues. Miller currently ranks in the 98th percentile in hard-hit rate, the 89th percentile in strikeout rate, and the 94th percentile in walk rate. Somehow, he's rostered in only 68% of Yahoo leagues right now. He's scheduled to make his sixth appearance of 2026 on the road in D.C. on Friday against the Washington Nationals.

Bryce Miller Rediscovering Peak Form, Emerging as a Priority Waiver-Wire Target

After suffering an oblique strain in Spring Training, Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller did not make his 2026 debut until May 13. However, the 27-year-old has been impressive across 21 innings since returning to Seattle, pitching to a 1.71 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with 20 strikeouts. One of Miller's four appearances so far this season has come in relief as Seattle juggles its impressive rotation depth. Still, Miller has worked at least five innings in every outing and has also significantly out-pitched Mariners veteran Luis Castillo, with whom he is ostensibly competing for a rotation spot. Miller battled injury and underperformance in 2025, posting a 5.68 ERA across 90 innings. Early on in 2026, he looks to have regained his form from 2024, when he recorded a 2.94 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with a 17.9% K-BB rate across 180 1/3 innings. In any league where he's not already rostered, Miller should be a priority waiver wire target for fantasy managers.

Bryce Miller a Priority Waiver-Wire Target

Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller had his 2026 season delayed by an oblique strain that he suffered in spring training. However, the 27-year-old has been effective since returning in mid-May, recording a 1-0 record with a 1.71 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts across 21 innings (four games). While Miller made one appearance as a reliever as Seattle manages its impressive rotation depth, he's pitched at least five innings in all four of his outings. The young right-hander owns an impressive 21.5% K-BB rate that is buoyed by his elite 3.8% walk rate. After posting a 5.68 ERA across 90 1/3 innings in 2025, Miller appears to be back to the form he displayed in 2024, when he logged a 2.94 ERA across 180 1/3 innings. In any leagues where he's not already rostered, Miller should be a priority waiver wire target with upside for fantasy managers.

Bryce Miller Demoted to Bullpen Role for Monday's Game

Seattle Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo is set to start Monday's game against the Athletics. Bryce Miller will come out of the bullpen and follow in the piggyback role. Castillo has struggled this season, posting a 6.41 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and 47 strikeouts across 46 1/3 innings. The 33-year-old struggled in his only relief appearance, taking the loss, while allowing two runs on a hit, two walks, and a HBP while striking out four over 2 1/3 innings against the Chicago White Sox. It's unclear how many innings Castillo will throw on Monday, but Miller has pitched well since returning from the injured list on May 13. The 27-year-old owns a 1.64 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, a 22.7K%, and a 4.5 BB% through 11 innings. Even though Miller is coming out of the bullpen, he's still worth holding onto in deep league formats, but can likely be dropped in 10-12-team leagues until he solidifies a spot in Seattle's rotation.

Bryce Miller Worth Stashing Now That He's Healthy?

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller made his season debut on Wednesday night against the Houston Astros. His eight walks and three strikeouts weren't ideal, but he still delivered solid results with just one walk and two earned runs over 5.1 innings of work. Miller has never been a major strikeout threat, averaging less than one per inning throughout his career, so we aren't concerned about his control going forward. On the contrary, we're actually quite encouraged by his low walk total, which is also consistent with his career stats. He also flashed increased velocity in his first game back from a left oblique strain. His average fastball velocity was 95.0 mph in 2025, but that jumped to 97.4 mph on Wednesday. Outside of the eight hits, fantasy managers should feel very optimistic that Miller has returned to his pre-injury form, and he might even be better than before. The righty is rostered in 27% of leagues right now, so there's still time for managers to stash Miller in anticipation of a potentially big year. Currently, he ranks #82 among starters in RotoBaller's latest fantasy baseball rankings.

Mariners Intend to Piggyback Luis Castillo, Bryce Miller

Seattle Mariners starting pitchers Luis Castillo and Bryce Miller will piggyback each other after a full turn through the rotation. Miller is set to return from the Injured List on Wednesday after missing the start of the season due to an oblique issue. The Mariners plan to use a six-man rotation for one full turn through, but will shake it up after that. The Mariners don't want to disrespect Castillo, who has been a starter throughout his big league career. However, Castillo has been horrible with a 6.29 ERA through seven starts this season. The hope is that putting Castillo and Miller together will end up offering better results for both pitchers. Between the two, Miller is the more desirable fantasy option, but he won't be an ideal streaming choice if he doesn't pitch deep into games.

Bryce Miller is Set to Return on Wednesday

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller (oblique) is set to return from the 15-day Injured List on Wednesday. Miller has been sidelined since the beginning of the season due to a left oblique strain. After making four rehab starts, Miller is ready to return to the big league mound. Miller is scheduled to take the ball against the Houston Astros on Wednesday. He should be worth a look as a waiver wire addition for fantasy managers seeking pitching help. The Mariners will go with a six-man rotation for now, so no one will be booted yet.

Bryce Miller Could Make Season Debut Next Week

The Seattle Mariners are leaning toward activating right-hander Bryce Miller (oblique) from the 15-day injured list on their upcoming road trip, which begins on Friday in Chicago against the White Sox, a club source told Adam Jude of The Seattle Times. Miller is scheduled to join the team in Chicago to check in with coaches and trainers. If he's cleared, the 27-year-old could rejoin Seattle's starting rotation to make his 2026 season debut in the middle of next week in Houston against the division-rival Astros. Miller threw five shutout innings on Wednesday with High-A Everett in what he hopes will be his final minor-league rehab start. "I'm ready to go," Miller said. He's been on the 15-day injured list all season to this point, but he's worth a look on the waiver wire for fantasy managers seeking rotation help. Miller is currently rostered in only 29% of Yahoo leagues and is hoping to regain his 2024 form, when he had a 2.94 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 171:45 K:BB in 31 starts, after an injury-plagued 2025 campaign.

Bryce Miller to Make Next Rehab Start on Wednesday

Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (shoulder) said the tentative plan right now is for him to make another minor-league rehab start on Wednesday with High-A Everett, according to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. Miller is getting close to rejoining the Mariners' starting rotation to make his 2026 season debut, and fantasy managers looking for rotation upgrades should consider stashing him now. The 27-year-old former fourth-rounder out of Texas A&M in 2021 has looked good on his rehab assignment through three starts, and he threw 36 of his 53 pitches for strikes while tossing four scoreless innings his last time out on Thursday with Triple-A Tacoma. Right now, Miller is rostered in only 29% of Yahoo leagues, so he's widely available. The good news for Miller is that he hasn't dealt with any elbow injuries, which derailed his 2025 campaign. He's worth a look to see if he can rediscover the form he had in 2024 with the M's, when he went 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 171 K's and 45 walks in 180 1/3 innings across his 31 starts. Miller should be back in the big leagues by mid-May.

Bryce Miller Punches Out Six in Rehab Start on Friday

Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (oblique) appears to be nearing a return to Seattle's starting rotation. The 27-year-old hurler looked good in his latest minor-league rehab start with High-A Everett on Friday night, going three shutout innings while giving up just one hit, walking one, and striking out six batters. Miller allowed just two baserunners and threw 35 of his 47 pitches for strikes in his second rehab appearance as he works his way back from an oblique injury that put him on the 15-day injured list before the start of the 2026 regular season. He still needs to build up his pitch count a bit more, but after another couple of rehab starts, he should be reinstated from the IL and rejoin the M's rotation in May. In his first rehab start with Triple-A Tacoma, Miller gave up three earned runs in 1 2/3 innings while walking one and striking out two. The former fourth-rounder in 2021 went 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 171 strikeouts in 2024 in a breakout campaign before posting an ERA over 5.00 and being limited to 18 starts last year due to injuries. Miller is only rostered in 27% of Yahoo leagues, but that number should go up considerably once he's closer to making his 2026 debut.
