Dominic Canzone News
Seattle Mariners outfielder Dominic Canzone (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of the team's matchup against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday with a left AC joint sprain. Canzone suffered the shoulder injury in Sunday's loss against the Chicago Cubs when he collided with the outfield wall in left field. Despite making the catch, he was in a lot of pain and left the game in the top of the second inning. Now he heads to the IL and won't be eligible to return until later this month. In his place, Jonatan Clase -- the team's No. 10 prospect on MLB Pipeline -- will take his roster spot. Canzone was hitting just .219 with three home runs and six RBI through 14 games in 2024.
Seattle Mariners outfielder Dominic Canzone (shoulder) is expected to be out awhile, according to manager Scott Servais. The 26-year-old suffered a left AC joint sprain while crashing into the wall during Sunday's game. The organization hasn't given a timetable for his return, but Servais said he'll be placed on the injured list on Monday. Canzone wasn't providing a ton of fantasy value but does have three home runs in nine games. The expectation is that Mitch Haniger and Luke Raley will see more time in the outfield going forward.
Seattle Mariners rookie outfielder Dominic Canzone is getting the start again in left field and is hitting seventh in the lineup on Wednesday against Boston Red Sox right-hander Kutter Crawford. Canzone made his debut with the M's on Tuesday and went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored after coming over from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday in the Paul Sewald trade. The 25-year-old has hit .238 (10-for-42) with a homer, eight RBI and five runs scored in his first 15 games in the big leagues, and he could see some decent playing time with his new team with Jarred Kelenic out for the foreseeable future with a fractured foot. Canzone is worth picking up for outfield depth in deep-mixed and AL-only leagues.
