Ian Bedell Making Triple-A Debut
St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Ian Bedell is being promoted to Triple-A Memphis. Bedell opened the season by making his Double-A debut and is now just one stop away from the major leagues. Through 64 innings at Double-A Springfield, the right-hander posted a 4.73 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 19:79 BB:K ratio. Bedell made 10 starts but also made two appearances out of the bullpen. He spent the entirety of last season with High-A and posted a strong 2.44 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 24:106 BB:K ratio in 96 frames. Bedell is currently ranked as the 18th overall prospect in the St. Louis system on MLB Pipeline and should contend for a major league debut in the second half of the season. He could become an interesting stash candidate in dynasty leagues if he performs well at Triple-A.
