Jordan Lawlar to Play Winter Ball

Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Jordan Lawlar is expected to switch positions this upcoming season. He came up as a shortstop, but that position is currently held by Geraldo Perdomo. The D-Backs attempted to put Lawlar at third base this past season, but he struggled defensively. The 23-year-old is at the point in his development where he should be contributing everyday at the MLB level. He has struggled during his brief time in the MLB, but hasn't been given a long look yet. Lawlar is set to play both third base and center field during winter ball this month. It'll be interesting to see which position he ends up settling in ahead of the 2026 season.

Diamondbacks Set to Promote Jordan Lawlar

According to Jake Garcia of 12 Sports Arizona, the Arizona Diamondbacks are set to promote their top prospect, infielder Jordan Lawlar. Lawlar was drafted with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft and is currently ranked as the No. 11 prospect in the sport on MLB.com. Lawlar has been given two brief tastes of the majors (in 2023 and 2025) but has struggled during his first looks. Through 22 games in Arizona, Lawlar has posted a low .080/.179/.080 line with just four hits (all singles) and a 20:5 K:BB. However, the infielder has been one of the most impressive hitters at the Triple-A level this season. In 63 games with the Reno Aces, Lawlar has posted an elite .313/.403/.564 line with 11 home runs, 20 stolen bases. With the Diamondbacks out of the playoff picture, Lawlar will likely be given a longer leash in the starting nine. Given his ability to hit for power and showcase immense speed upside, he is worth a look in all standard formats.

Jordan Lawlar Swinging a Hot Bat at Triple-A

Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar has continued to produce since returning from the injured list and is making a strong case to join the MLB roster for the stretch run. Over his last 10 games since returning to Reno, the former first-round pick has posted a .279/.367/.465 slash line with three doubles, one triple, one home run, and two stolen bases. During this stretch, he has only gone hitless in two games. Through 63 total games with the Reno Aces this season, the top-ranked prospect in the desert has posted a strong .313/.403/.564 line with 22 doubles, 11 home runs, and 20 stolen bases. Despite this elite production, Lawlar has yet to turn the corner in the major leagues, holding a career .259 OPS. With the Diamondbacks out of the playoff picture, fantasy managers should expect Lawlar to be given another look in the big leagues in the near future. He is a top hitting prospect to stash in all 12-team formats.

Jordan Lawlar Collects Three Hits, Drives in Two on Sunday

Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar went 3-for-5 with two RBI on Sunday at Triple-A Reno. Arizona's top-ranked prospect has hit well since coming off the injured list on August 14, a continuation of his hot hitting from earlier in the year. The 23-year-old is 11-for-36 (.306) in the eight games since his return, including two doubles, a triple, a home run, and two stolen bases. He was caught stealing on Sunday, too, but it appears he has full confidence in his hamstring. With Eugenio Suarez out of the picture and Blaze Alexander just 6-for-40 (.150) over his last 11 games, Lawlar could finally see some regular playing time with the big league club down the stretch if he gets the call. It seems there will always be injury concern for Lawlar, but the former first-rounder should still have 20/20 potential in 2026.

Jordan Lawlar Slugs Homer Wednesday

Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a rehab game against Triple-A Salt Lake. The 23-year-old is 6-for-21 with four extra-base hits and a stolen base through five rehab games, striking out just three times while drawing two walks. He appears to be healthy as he has been hitting the ball hard and recorded a stolen base in a game during the trip. The top prospect will look to take over a long-awaited everyday role in Arizona upon his activation. He's been given brief looks in the majors on two separate occasions, but struggled mightily and ended up returning to the minors. Lawlar is still one of the most talented players in the minors, and dynasty managers should have high hopes with his blend of power, speed, and contact.

Jordan Lawlar Activated from Injured List

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar was activated from the injured list and started at third base Thursday night for Triple-A Reno. Lawlar missed multiple weeks with a hamstring injury and went 2-for-5 with a double in his return. He hit the ball hard twice, including a 101.4 MPH lineout. Before getting injured, the 23-year-old was crushing with a .319/.410/.583 slash line with 10 homers and 18 stolen bases in 250 plate appearances. He earned a promotion to the majors on May 12 and again struggled with his opportunity. He did not record a hit over 22 plate appearances and struck out 40% of the time before being sent back down. Lawlar is still one of the best prospects in baseball, and patience is encouraged with a player of his talent level.

Jordan Lawlar Returns From Injured List at Triple-A

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Jordan Lawlar (hamstring) was activated from the 7-day injured list in Triple-A on Thursday, reports Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic. He has been out of game action since June with a hamstring strain, but he is finally healthy. A lot has happened for the major league club while the 23-year-old has been sidelined, as the departure of Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez at the trade deadline created plenty of open playing time opportunities. The rookie played only 14 games in 2023 and eight games in 2025, so it's likely that Arizona will jump at the chance to finally lock him in for consistent at-bats to close out the season. He'll need some time to get back up to speed in the minors, but expect a promotion at some point in the coming weeks.

Jordan Lawlar Nearing Return, Set for Live BP Tuesday

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Jordan Lawlar (hamstring) is set to take live batting practice Tuesday as he continues his recovery from a Grade 1 strain that has sidelined him since May 28. The 23-year-old top prospect struggled in his brief MLB stint earlier this season, going 0-for-19 with nine strikeouts over eight games. Arizona is expected to be cautious with his return, likely giving him time to regain confidence before a potential call-up. Fantasy managers in deeper or dynasty leagues should keep an eye on Lawlar's progress, as a strong rehab showing could pave the way for a late-season impact.

Jordan Lawlar to Miss Multiple Weeks With Hamstring Injury

Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar (hamstring) is expected to miss multiple weeks with his latest hamstring injury, according to manager Torey Lovullo. The former first-rounder had been placed on the 7-day IL after being removed from a game on June 25. Lawlar was hitting well at Triple-A all year, slashing .319/.410/.583 with 10 home runs and 18 stolen bases, but now it appears he'll be out until August. The D-backs' top-ranked prospect dealt with hamstring injuries last season as well, and was limited to just 14 games between Double and Triple-A, so the team won't look to rush him back, especially without an opening on the big league roster. The 22-year-old dropped 10 spots on MLB.com's latest refresh list, but there is still 20/20 potential here whenever he's finally able to get regular major league at-bats.

Jordan Lawlar on Injured List at Triple-A

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar (hamstring) is reportedly set to miss at least a week of action with a hamstring injury. Lawlar was lifted after his at-bat in the first inning on Wednesday and appears to have tweaked the same hamstring that he had been managing recently. Lawlar has again been crushing Triple-A pitching in June, hitting .300/425/.633 with four homers and five stolen bases in 60 at-bats. Further updates regarding his injury should be known tomorrow.
