Taylor Clarke Being Dealt From Royals To Brewers

The Kansas City Royals have traded relief pitcher Taylor Clarke to the Milwaukee Brewers. The return for the trade is unknown at this point. The right-hander has logged plenty of appearances out of the Royals' bullpen of late, trotting out for 105 appearances over the last two seasons. After posting a solid 4.04 ERA across 47 outings in 2022, Clarke struggled to a 5.95 ERA across 58 appearances a season ago. However, he could be in for a bounce-back season considering he also posted a rock-solid 4.04 SIERA last season and a dynamite 3.16 mark in 2022. Additionally, his 24.4% K% last season was a career-high despite seeing his walk rate skyrocket to 9% from an excellent 3.9% two seasons ago.

Taylor Clarke Avoids Arbitration With The Royals

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Taylor Clarke has avoided arbitration with the team and agreed to a one-year deal. The terms of the deal are not yet known, however. Clarke posted a lackluster 5.95 ERA, 1.610, and 65:24 K/BB ratio over 59 innings (58 appearances, two starts) last season in Kansas City. He has been solid overall in his five-year career so it makes sense that the Royals would want to keep him around.

Taylor Clarke Records His First Save On Thursday

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Taylor Clarke closed out the team's 5-2, 10-inning victory over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday to earn his first save of the year. He retired the side in order in the 10th inning, recording two strikeouts along the way. This was his second save opportunity of the year, but he failed to convert his first one, which was also a 10th inning save opportunity. As with last year, the Royals have a somewhat cryptic bullpen. Josh Staumont leads the team with two saves while Clarke and Scott Barlow are the only other Royals relievers with a save. Staumont seems like he's at the top of the closer hierarchy for the team, but Barlow is very much in the picture. Clarke may be next up after that duo, but he's not someone worthy of rostering in any fantasy formats for now.

Royals Sign Taylor Clarke

The Kansas City Royals have signed relief pitcher Taylor Clarke, according to a tweet from MLB Network's Jon Heyman. Per Heyman, it's a one-year deal for Clarke worth $975,000. The 28-year-old pitched to a 4.98 ERA and a 3.54 FIP in 43.1 innings last season for Arizona. He'll join a Royals bullpen that also features Josh Staumont, Scott Barlow, Domingo Tapia, and Jake Brentz among others. With Staumont and Barlow around, Clarke probably won't initially be in the mix for saves in Kansas City.

Taylor Clarke Solid on Sunday

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Taylor Clarke put together another nice outing on Sunday against the Washington Nationals. Clarke threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits to go along with three strikeouts. He was given a no-decision. The young righty has been better of late, allowing just five earned runs in his last 17 innings pitched. Clarke will take the bump again late this week against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a difficult matchup.

Taylor Clarke Impressive on Tuesday

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Taylor Clarke was great on Tuesday in a win over the New York Yankees. Clarke went 5 1/3 innings, allowing no earned runs on three hits to go along with six strikeouts. After an awful start to his D-backs career, Clarke has really turned it around of late. He still is just a streamer at best, however. He will take the mound again on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies in a tough matchup.

Taylor Clarke has Career Night Against Orioles

Arizona Diamondbacks starter Taylor Clarke had his best start of the year on Wednesday night against the Orioles, as he earned the win while striking out a career-high seven batters. Clarke allowed two runs on four hits over six innings to record his third quality start of the season. It was a good performance for the inconsistent rookie, and owners may want to start looking at him as a matchup-dependent streaming option. He's lined up to face the Yankees in his next start though, so owners may want to avoid that outing.

Taylor Clarke Activated, Starting Friday

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Taylor Clarke (back) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday. He'll draw the start against the Milwaukee Brewers, but shouldn't be used in most fantasy leagues. Clarke heads into this start with a 6.21 ERA on the year. He's not expected to have much success against the Milwaukee offense.

Taylor Clarke Placed on Injured List

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Taylor Clarke (back) has been placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. Clarke struggled during his start on Tuesday, but wasn't pitching well before that outing. Possibly getting some time off could help Clarke turn it around. Kevin Cron has been recalled to take Clarke's spot on the active roster. Cron has some power, but it's unclear how much playing time he'll see. He's crushed 29 home runs in the minors this season, but he's probably only worth looking at in NL-only leagues.

Taylor Clarke Looking For Another Win Tuesday

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Taylor Clarke will look for a repeat performance against the Los Angeles on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium. Clarke has thrown two straight games of five innings and two earned runs allowed against Los Angeles, the latter start earning him a win at Chase Field. It won't be as easy Tuesday night on the road, as the Dodgers play extremely well at home and boast one of the league's most talented offenses. Don't get cute with Clarke, leave him on the bench in this matchup.
