Logan Evans Recalled, Starting on Thursday

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Evans has been recalled and will take the ball versus the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. The Mariners could use some help in the rotation with Bryce Miller (elbow) still sidelined and Emerson Hancock being optioned to the minors. Evans has been decent this season, posting a 3.38 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and a 30/12 K/BB ratio across seven starts with the Mariners. This is a favorable spot for Evans against a Royals lineup that has struggled to produce this season. Evans is worth a look as a low-end streaming option for Thursday. In a corresponding move, left-hander Joe Jacques has been optioned to the minors.

Logan Evans Recalled and Starting on Tuesday

The Seattle Mariners recalled rookie right-hander Logan Evans from Triple-A Tacoma and to start on Tuesday on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks with right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) going back on the injured list. Right-hander Bryan Woo will be pushed back to Wednesday. This will be Evans' sixth start of his first year in the big leagues. The 24-year-old, who is considered the team's No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has struck out only 25 hitters in 35 innings of work in his six starts, but he's only allowed 11 earned runs and walked 10 while going 3-1. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to stick around in Seattle's starting rotation beyond one start, though, with Logan Gilbert (elbow) potentially returning from the IL next week. Evans will be a pretty risky fantasy streamer on Tuesday night against a strong D-backs offense.

Logan Evans Tosses Career-High Eight Innings in Third Victory

Seattle Mariners right-handed pitching prospect Logan Evans tossed eight innings of one-run ball on Tuesday evening en route to picking up his third victory of the campaign, against the Washington Nationals. In this outing, Evans allowed just four hits and held a 4:1 K:BB. His lone blemish came on a solo shot by Washington outfielder James Wood, which was his 14th long ball of the campaign. Evans was promoted from Triple-A to fill a spot in the rotation with both Logan Gilbert (elbow) and Bryce Miller (elbow) on the injured list. Through his first 35 innings in Seattle, their No. 10-ranked prospect has posted an impressive 2.83 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP. He has struck out 25 batters and allowed 10 free passes. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be in danger of losing his spot in the rotation with Miller expected to return this weekend.

Logan Evans To Make MLB Debut On Sunday

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Evans will take the mound for his MLB debut against the Miami Marlins on Sunday. Evans is one of the top pitching prospects in the Mariners system, so there is plenty of hype surrounding him. He posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 23/4 K/BB ratio across five starts in Triple-A this season. Before those five outings, Evans had only pitched as high as Double-A, but it appears the Mariners believe he's ready for the big leagues. He'll get a favorable matchup against the Marlins offense on Sunday. That being said, Evans is worth a look as a streaming choice against Miami. He could very well stick in the rotation for a few weeks with Logan Gilbert (elbow) heading to the injured list.

Logan Evans Named Pacific Coast League Pitcher Of The Week

Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Logan Evans was named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week. He enjoyed an impressive outing on April 9 when he shut down the Sacramento River Cats. He tossed six innings of one-run ball. He allowed just two hits, with no walks, and struck out seven. This was a much-needed bounce-back outing for Evans as he allowed five runs and eight hits across five innings of work in his previous start. Last summer, the 23-year-old spent his entire campaign with Double-A Arkansas and held a 3.20 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP across 107 innings of work. He struck out 98 batters and served up 42 free passes. Fantasy managers should contribute to monitoring the Pittsburgh product's development at Triple-A, as he could be in the mix for a second-half MLB debut.

Logan Evans Named Pitcher Of The Week After Perfect Outing

Seattle Mariners starting pitching prospect Logan Evans logged his best start of his 2024 campaign earlier this week. On August 9, the Pittsburgh product tossed six perfect innings while tallying seven punchouts. He was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week as a result. This was also a nice bounce back for the 23-year-old, as he held a 6.00 ERA, 1.92 WHIP, and a 6:8 BB:K ratio across his past 12 innings. Evans has spent the entire summer at Double-A and has looked quite comfortable, holding an overall 2.49 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. Evans is ranked as the 17th-best prospect in the Seattle pipeline on MLB.com and should contend for a major league debut next summer.

Logan Evans Tosses Six Shutout Frames With Eight Strikeouts In Latest Gem

Seattle Mariners starting pitching prospect Logan Evans was dominant once again on Thursday as he tossed six clean frames with eight strikeouts. He allowed four hits and no walks. Evans began this season at Double-A after ending last season with Single-A, which was very unexpected. However, Seattle looks like they made the right call as their young right-hander looks on track to reach Triple-A this summer. Through 45 innings with Double-A Arkansas, he has posted a near-perfect 1.39 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 14:41 BB:K ratio. Evans is ranked as the number 19 prospect in the Seattle system on MLB Pipeline, but that is sure to change through the summer as the former 12th-round selection has looked near unhittable through the early part of the summer.

Logan Evans Dominating At Double-A

Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Logan Evans has been off to a strong start in his first taste of Double-A ball. Through six starts and 28 total innings, Evans has posted a 1.57 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 11 free passes and 23 punchouts. Last season at Single-A, he posted a minuscule 0.75 ERA and 0.75 WHIP across 12 innings with an elite 2:13 BB:K ratio. While Evans has made the jump from Single to Double-A look quite easy, he does need to lower his walk rate, as that seems to be one of his few struggles. The 19th-ranked prospect in the Seattle system should not be expected to contend for a spot on the major league roster this season but could find his way to Triple-A, making him worth adding in deeper dynasty leagues down the road.
