Adam Warren News
Right-handed pitcher Adam Warren announced his retirement from professional baseball on Wednesday after eight seasons. Warren last pitched in the majors with the San Diego Padres in 2019 and hadn't pitched since due to a shoulder injury and Tommy John surgery. The 35-year-old began his MLB career in 2012 with the New York Yankees and spent seven of his eight seasons pitching in pinstripes. He had a decent career in mostly a relief role, posting a 3.53 ERA (4.02 FIP), 1.23 WHIP, six saves and 20.9 percent strikeout rate in 492 1/3 innings pitched over 323 appearances (21 starts) in the regular season.
New York Yankees relief pitcher Adam Warren has been traded to the Seattle Mariners. It's unclear at the moment what the Yankees are getting back in return for Warren. This season Warren has a 2.70 ERA with 37 strikeouts through 24 appearances in New York. Warren was once a starting pitcher in the Yankees organization, but was converted into a full time reliever in 2016. He does not have much late inning experience, so he likely won't have any fantasy value besides leagues that count holds.
After being activated off the disabled list at the surprising expense of New York Yankees relief pitcherTommy Kahnle, relieverAdam Warren wasted no time in making his return to the mound. The 30-year-old made an appearance in the second game of Mondays doubleheader after starter Domingo German fell an out short of completing seven innings. Warren struggled with his command, walking three and allowing one hit in his 1 1/3 innings of work while tossing 39 pitches. He still managed to escape unharmed, however, not allowing a run and striking out one. When hes in good form, Warren is usually an integral part of New Yorks bullpen.
