Ronald Acuna Jr. Wins NL Comeback Player of the Year Award

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. was named the National League Comeback Player of the Year in 2025, according to MLB. Acuna showed that he was still one of the game's elite players by successfully returning from a second major knee surgery, a complete tear of the ACL in his left knee. On the first pitch he saw in his season debut on May 23, the 27-year-old Dominican hit a 467-foot home run. Acuna was an All-Star for the fourth time in his career and slashed a strong .290/.417/.518 with 21 home runs for the Braves in 95 games played. Only five players among the 215 players with at least 400 plate appearances had a higher OPS than Acuna's mark of .935. He also dealt with a minor calf issue in 2025, but it thankfully did not slow him down. Fantasy managers aren't forgetting the risk that now comes with Acuna, but when healthy, he's still an elite fantasy outfielder that contributes across all categories.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Sparks Braves in 6-3 Win Over Nationals

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. delivered three hits in Tuesday's 6-3 victory over the Washington Nationals, going 3-for-4 with a walk. All three hits were singles, marking his third multi-hit effort in his last seven games. After a sluggish opening to September, Acuna has found some rhythm at the plate and is now slashing .281/.403/.498 in his eighth major league season. The 27-year-old missed most of last year with a torn ACL, but he is steadily building a strong campaign to regain his elite form. Acuna's recent surge is a bright spot for a Braves club that has struggled to stay consistent and remains outside serious postseason contention.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Batting Sixth on Saturday

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is in the lineup and batting sixth on Saturday against Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller. It's the first time Acuna has hit sixth since his rookie season in 2018. The former NL MVP has spent most of this season either leading off or batting third, but the Braves are dropping him amid a severe slump. Acuna, who wasn't in the lineup Friday, has gone 0-for-20 with eight strikeouts and no walks in five games since Aug. 30. Moreover, Acuna has hit just one home run since he returned from the 10-day injured list on Aug. 15. The 27-year-old missed the last couple of days of July and the first two weeks of August with a low-grade calf strain. Despite his struggles over the past few weeks, Acuna has still posted strong production this season. He's slashing .275/.400/.494 with 15 homers, 31 RBI, 58 runs scored, and six stolen bases over 320 plate appearances. It seems doubtful that the Braves will keep him down in the lineup for long.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Back From the Injured List

The Atlanta Braves announced on Friday that they reinstated outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (calf) from the 10-day injured list and outrighted catcher Sandy Leon to Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move. The Braves have yet to release their starting lineup for Friday's series opener in Cleveland against the Guardians, but we're fully expecting Acuna to be in it. The 27-year-old Venezuelan will return to a strong .306/.429/.577 slash line with a 1.005 OPS, 14 home runs, 26 RBI, 48 runs scored and four stolen bases. The former MVP hasn't run as much this year after coming back from his second torn ACL, but he's contributing everywhere else and will return to being a must-start in fantasy lineups. He struggled in July before getting hurt, though, going 17-for-77 (.221) with five home runs, four doubles, a triple, eight RBI and 16 runs scored in 21 games.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Expected to Return Friday

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (calf) will come off the 10-day injured list and play Friday if "he wakes up feeling good," according to MLB.com. Acuna has already traveled with the Braves to Cleveland to prepare for his return against the Guardians. The 27-year-old superstar went on the IL with a calf strain on July 30, but fortunately, he incurred a low-grade injury and is set to rejoin Atlanta's lineup after two weeks on the shelf. Since making his season debut on May 23, Acuna has slashed .306/.429/.577 with 14 homers, 26 RBI, 48 runs scored, and four stolen bases in 238 plate appearances. Fantasy managers will be thrilled to welcome him back for the stretch run.

Ronald Acuna Jr. to be Activated Soon

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (calf) is reportedly with the team and should be activated from the injured list soon. Braves' manager Brian Snitker recently told reporters that Acuna won't require a minor league rehab assignment. That means, Acuna should be ready to play at some point this week. There currently is no timetable in place, but fantasy managers shouldn't be shocked if Acuna returns by this weekend. The superstar outfielder has been sidelined since late July due to a right calf strain. Fantasy managers should continue checking back throughout the week for more updates on Acuna's status.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Doing Sprints, Agility Drills

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (calf) has been sprinting and working on agility drills in the outfield as he recovers from a Grade 1 right-calf strain, per David O'Brien of The Athletic. Acuna has looked "springy as usual," according to O'Brien, which bodes well for his forthcoming return from the 10-day injured list. The 27-year-old superstar went on the IL on July 30 and is eligible for activation any day. He's going to travel with the Braves to New York for a series with the Mets that begins on Monday, though it's unclear if they'll reinstate him during that three-game set. After missing almost all of last season with a torn left ACL, Acuna has been superb in his comeback this year. He's slashing .306/.429/.577 with 14 homers, 26 RBI, 48 runs, and four stolen bases in 238 plate appearances.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Looking Good While Taking Batting Practice

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (calf) is hitting bombs in batting practice and also took ground balls on the infield this week, according to The Athletic's David O'Brien. Acuna has is "showing absolutely no lingering sign of the mild right-calf strain that landed him on the 10-day injured list." It was initially feared that Acuna suffered a serious Achilles injury, but it was later announced that the 27-year-old former MVP is dealing with a mild calf injury. The Braves aren't going to rush the superstar outfielder back in what has become a lost season, but he should be able to return before the end of the season. Acuna was projected to miss two to three weeks. Once he resumes running, he could be close to going on a rehab assignment. Fantasy managers will want to keep him stashed in the meantime. Eli White has been Atlanta's right fielder with Acuna down.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Resumes Hitting

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (calf) remains day-to-day while getting treatment for his calf strain, according to manager Brian Snitker. The All-Star outfielder was able to hit in a batting cage on Monday, but he remains without a timetable to return, since the team will wait until he's pain-free before activating him. Acuna has been sidelined since July 29 with this calf strain after missing the start of the season while recovering from last year's knee injury. In his 55 games, Acuna has 14 homers, four stolen bases, a .306 batting average, and a .427 wOBA, but his limited action has been a disappointment to his fantasy owners. He has such a high ceiling that he's still worth holding at this point, although the Braves have little reason to rush him back since they are out of playoff contention.

Ronald Acuna Jr. has Calf Strain, Could Return in 2-3 Weeks

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (calf) has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 right-calf strain after landing on the 10-day injured list. The Braves will monitor Acuna's progress, but he could return in two to three weeks, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com. Many folks might have assumed Acuna was lost for the rest of the season when it was initially announced that he had suffered an Achilles injury in Tuesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. The Braves have no incentive to rush the former MVP back, but this injury update is a best-case scenario for Acuna's fantasy managers, and he should remain stashed in an IL spot. In the meantime, Eli White will be given the first shot at replacing the All-Star in right field in Atlanta, although the lefty-hitting Jarred Kelenic could form a platoon after just being called up from the minors.
