Mariners Prospect Tai Peete Named Player of the Week

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Tai Peete was named the Northwest League's Player of the Week after a dominant stretch that included three home runs, one double, seven RBI, and five runs scored. The Mariners' No. 10 prospect and 2023 first-round pick has shown off his elite athleticism with 16 home runs and 19 stolen bases this season. However, his overall slash line of .225/.283/.415 at High-A reflects the growing pains. A 30.6% strikeout rate and 7.6% walk rate have stalled his path to Double-A. Peete remains a high-ceiling talent, but improved plate discipline will be crucial to his development.

Tai Peete Continues Power Surge

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Tai Peete continued his power surge on Friday evening. Facing High-A Spokane, the outfielder went 2-for-4 with a double and a long ball. This was his second-straight game going deep and his third game hitting at least one home run over his last four. During this impressive surge, Peete has tallied an eye-catching seven RBI while holding a .375/.375/1.000 line. However, over his six games before this stretch, Peete went 1-for-19 with an 8:6 K:BB. After spinning the entire 2024 campaign at the Low-A level in Modesto, the Mariners gave Peete the green light to open the 2025 campaign at High-A. Through 88 total games at High-A, Peete has posted a .224/.284/.419 line with 14 doubles, 16 home runs, and 18 stolen bases. If he continues to find his swing, he could earn a taste of Double-A in the coming weeks.

Tai Peete has Modest Showing Through First Look at High-A

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Tai Peete has had a modest showing during his first extended look at the High-A level. Through 81 games in the first half, Peete has posted a .224/.284/.403 slash line with 13 doubles, 13 home runs, and 15 stolen bases. He has generated a .687 OPS and held a poor 111:27 K:BB. While he has flashed power upside at times and is on track to finish the season in the 20/20 club, his strikeout rate has limited his upside. Over his last nine games, he has struck out 14 times and carried a .723 OPS. Last season, the 19-year-old spent his entire season with Low-A Modesto, posting a .269/.343/.408 slash line with 26 doubles, nine home runs, and an impressive 45 stolen bases. If Peete can lower his strikeout rate, he could be in the mix to earn a brief taste of Double-A in the final weeks of the season.

Tai Peete Goes Deep, Swipes A Bag On Sunday

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Tai Peete went 2-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base during Sunday's contest against High-A Eugene. Prior to this contest, Peete was riding a seven-game power drought. However, despite his lack of power, Peete was still productive during this seven-game stretch, holding a .276/.300/.379 with three doubles. The 19-year-old has spent the entire 2025 campaign at High-A and has been able to hold his own during his first look at this level. Through 25 games, Peete has posted .252/.291/.447 slash line with four home runs and five stolen bases. Last summer, Peete spent the entire campaign with Low-A Modesto and held a .269/.343/.408 line. Fantasy managers should expect the No. 12-ranked prospect in the Seattle system to spend most of the campaign at High-A.

Tai Peete Heating Up At The Plate

Seattle Mariners infield prospect Tai Peete has begun to heat up at the plate after being in a slump in the start of the month. In his past 12 games, the 19-year-old has been carrying an excellent .327/.386/.581 slash line with five doubles, one triple, one home run and 10 RBI. In addition, during this span, Peete has swiped an eye-catching 10 bags with a 6:15 BB:K ratio. Prior to this stretch, the former 2023 draft pick held a .118/.210/.206 line through the first nine games of the month with just two extra-base hits. Overall, through his first extended look at Single-A ball, Peete has looked quite sharp boasting a .262/.338/.394 line with 22 doubles, six home runs, and 39 stolen bases. Dynasty managers should pay close attention to Peete as he could be in contention for a late-season promotion to High-A. He currently sits as the No. 11 prospect in a deep Seattle system on MLB.com.

Tai Peete Continues To Showcase Contact Skills At Single-A

Seattle Mariners third base/shortstop prospect Tai Peete has continued to showcase high-upside contact skills throughout his second season at Single-A and is making a case to be moved up to High-A. In his last eight games, he has held a strong .303/.378/.364 line with 10 total hits. Earlier this season, he held an eight-game hitting streak in June and an eye-catching 13-game hitting streak in May. Peete has logged 83 games at the Single-A level over the past two summers and has shown he is ready to move up. However, Seattle may want him to continue to add some power to his game before being promoted, as he has only gone deep three times in the past two summers.

Tai Peete Extends Hitting Streak To Nine Games, Swipes Three Bags On Thursday

Seattle Mariners third base/shortstop prospect Tai Peete tallied two hits with three stolen bases on Thursday to extend his hitting streak to three games. Peete has also now swiped at least one bag in each of his past three games. Since the start of this incredible run, the 18-year-old has posted a .382 AVG with 13 total hits and seven total bases in just nine games. Peete got a small taste of Single-A ball last summer and has remained their through the early part of this season and holds a cumulative .270/.359/.387 line and 16 total stolen bases. MLB Pipeline projects the former 2023 draft pick to reach the majors in 2023, but is worth following in dynasty leagues due to his elite raw speed.

Tai Peete Swipes Two Bags And Brings In Three Runs On Thursday

Seattle Mariners shortstop prospect Tai Peete went 3-for-6 at the plate on Thursday with two doubles, three RBI, and two stolen bases. Peete ripped two RBI doubles, one in the third frame and the other in the eighth, to lead Modesto to the victory. The 18-year-old also added two more stolen bases to bring his season count to five. After getting a brief stint with Single-A last year, Peete has posted a solid .256/.376/.423 slash line through 20 games at Single-A this season. The seventh-ranked prospect in the Seattle system is still several years away from the major leagues but is worth monitoring in dynasty leagues down the road.
