Yohandy Morales Not Slowing Down at Triple-A, On the Verge of Joining MLB Roster?

Washington Nationals first base/third base prospect Yohandy Morales has not slowed down at Triple-A this season and has put himself in a great position to debut before the end of June. Over his last 11 contests with Triple-A Rochester, Morales has carried an impressive .304/.373/.652 line with a 1.025 OPS. During this 11-game stretch, Morales has hit five home runs while carrying an 11:5 K:BB. Overall, the team's No. 28-ranked prospect (per MLB.com) has looked quite comfortable at the Triple-A level this season, carrying a .336/.411/.587 line with 11 doubles, 15 home runs, and a 61:26 K:BB across 60 games. Seeing him take a massive step forward, based on the modest .731 OPS he held at Triple-A last summer, is an excellent sign. While Curtis Mead's emergence has halted a debut, Morales' current production should put him in the mix to reach D.C. in the coming weeks.

Is Yohandy Morales Hitting His Way to Must-Stash Status?

Washington Nationals corner infield prospect Yohandy Morales continues to produce at Triple-A Rochester, drawing a walk, stealing a base, and scoring a run in his latest contest despite going 0-for-3 at the plate. For the season, the Nats' 28th-ranked prospect is slashing a robust .336/.414/.584 with 14 home runs and three steals. The former second-round draft pick is set to blow past his home run total from last season (15), and has seen almost a six percent drop in strikeout rate year-over-year while maintaining a solid 10.7 percent walk rate. The 6-foot-3 slugger owns a 92.3 percent average exit velocity (EV) this season (90th percentile) and a max EV of 113.1 mph (93rd percentile), along with a 12.4 percent barrel rate and 52.9 percent hard-hit rate, so he's got some fantasy-friendly power potential. However, despite having the ability to play either corner infield spot or designated hitter, there isn't a current path to playing time on the MLB roster, so it may take an injury to get him to the majors. Regardless, managers in deep leagues looking for a sneaky source of home runs and counting stats should consider stashing the 24-year-old ahead of an eventual call-up.

Yohandy Morales Emerging as a Sneaky Stash Target?

Washington Nationals first base prospect Yohandy Morales has enjoyed a very productive start to the Triple-A regular season and is now in serious consideration to earn his MLB debut. Through 53 games with the Rochester Red Wings, Morales has posted a .344/.416/.600 line with a stellar 1.016 OPS. During this stretch, Morales has hit 11 doubles with 13 home runs while holding a 54:22 K:BB. Last summer, Morales had a brief stint with Double-A before spending most of the second half with Triple-A, where he carried a much lower .249/.330/.401 line over a 95-game stint. Seeing Morales make steady progress at this level is a very promising sign. Currently, the Nationals have shifted Luis Garcia Jr. to first base, but he has held a modest .676 OPS since May 18. Given Morales's dominant play, the young infielder could join one of the game's most productive lineups in the coming weeks, making him a solid stash target in 12+ team leagues.

Yohandy Morales Stays Hot, Emerges as a Top Hitter to Stash

Washington Nationals corner infield prospect Yohandy Morales continues to rake for Triple-A Rochester, collecting at least two hits in four of his last five contests, raising his season-long slash line to a sizzling .355/.431/.587 with 10 home runs. The Nats' 28th-ranked prospect hit well at Double-A last season, but batted just .249 with a 30.3 percent strikeout rate in 95 games at Triple-A in 2025. However, he's cut the strikeout rate down to 24.4 percent in 2026. The 6-foot-3 slugger owns a 92.6 percent average exit velocity(EV) this season (92nd percentile) and a max EV of 113.1 mph (93rd percentile), so there is some legitimate pop in his bat. A debut could happen in the coming weeks, so managers looking for power should give him a look, and there could be solid counting stats to follow while hitting in a surprisingly potent Washington lineup (5.42 runs/game ranks No. 1 in MLB). Eligibility at both 1B and 3B on Yahoo! add to his fantasy appeal.

Yohandy Morales in the Mix for Starting First Base Role

Washington Nationals first base prospect Yohandy Morales is expected to compete for the starting first base job during spring training. Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reported that a mix of Matt Merivis, Andres Chaparro, Trey Lipscomb, and Morales is expected to compete for the lead role at first base. Morales began the season with Double-A but was able to spend the majority of the campaign with Triple-A. Across 33 games at Double-A, Morales posted a .315/.366/.520 slash line with 120 doubles, four home runs, and two stolen bases. At Triple-A, the team's No. 21-ranked prospect held a lower .241/.330/.401 slash line with a modest .731 OPS. Managers in deeper formats should keep an eye on Morales's progression as he could crack the Opening Day roster.

Yohandy Morales Homers In Second Straight Rehab Game

Washington Nationals first base/third base prospect Yohandy Morales (thumb) hit a home run in his second straight rehab game for Single-A Fredericksburg on Thursday. The 22-year-old is hitting .238 with two homers and 17 RBI for Double-A Harrisburg this season in 37 games. The Nationals' second-round pick in 2023, Morales boasts 60-grade power. He has shown off that power in his return from his thumb injury. The University of Miami product has had his season shortened with his injury but he has an opportunity now to finish the season strong over the final two months.
