There's "Cautious Optimism" Around Christian Braun Signing Contract Extension

Denver Nuggets guard/forward Christian Braun is up for a contract extension that was rumored to be close to done back in June. Fast forward to October, and there hasn't been anything signed, but Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports that there is "cautious optimism" that Braun and the Nuggets agree on an extension before the deadline on Monday. Scotto states that the ongoing talks are around a five-year extension worth somewhere in the range of $115 to $125 million. After the Nuggets re-tooled a lot of their lineup this offseason, Braun is likely to continue in the important starting role he stepped into last year. During his best year yet, Braun averaged 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals across 77 starts and 33.9 minutes per game. He's a solid mid-to-late round fantasy asset in any type of format, especially category leagues with his .528 career field goal percentage.

Christian Braun May Receive Contract Extension Soon

Bennett Durado of The Denver Post believes Nuggets guard Christian Braun is expected to be offered a new deal ahead of the 2026-27 season, possibly as early as this fall. The 24-year-old is nearing the end of his rookie agreement. However, he's easily coming off the best season of his career, averaging 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 39.7% shooting from downtown, meaning retaining him is certainly in the team's best interest. The Nuggets will likely try to avoid entering the second round, so who will remain on the roster in the coming years is unknown. Yet, the anticipated movement of certain players moving forward means Braun has an excellent chance to see more scoring opportunities, making him an ideal dynasty stash for fantasy managers.

Christian Braun Listed As Probable For Meeting With Timberwolves

Denver Nuggets guard/forward Christian Braun (foot) is considered probable for Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This designation has recently become common for Braun as he nurses a left foot strain. Braun has made six consecutive appearances, so there is no reason to believe that he won't suit up for Tuesday's contest. A couple of games ago, Braun posted his fifth double-double of the season, and he has been impactful in all areas for the Nuggets in 2024-25. Should Braun suffer a setback and not play on Tuesday, Jalen Pickett would receive a larger role in the rotation.

This will mark only his second absence of the season. The Nuggets will also be without Jamal Murray (ankle) and Nikola Jokic (elbow, ankle), leaving Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon (calf), who is expected to return to the lineup, as the only regular starters available. Christian Braun Tagged As Probable On Injury Report

Denver Nuggets guard/forward Christian Braun (foot) is tagged as probable for Monday's contest against the Golden State Warriors. He continues to deal with inflammation in his left foot, but this hasn't yet kept Braun out of the lineup. His only absence this season came on Dec. 16. The 23-year-old has had a few quiet outings lately, but his overall numbers remain strong. Over eight March appearances, Braun has averaged 16.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.3 steals. On Monday, Braun might be called upon to do even more, as Denver leaders Nikola Jokic (elbow, ankle) and Jamal Murray (ankle) could miss the action.
