DeMar DeRozan News
San Antonio Spurs guard/forward DeMar DeRozan had a good outing with 26 points in Wednesday's win over Sacramento, adding seven assists, five rebounds and one block with four turnovers in 33 minutes. He shot very efficiently, making 12 of 20 shots from the field. DeRozan has always been a good scorer, but he has also developed into a playmaker in San Antonio and is averaging a career-high 7.2 assists a night this season. The team will look towards him again on Thursday versus Atlanta, although playing on zero rest days hasn't suited DeRozan well this season, with him averaging only 11.4 points per game on 36.5 percent shooting.
San Antonio Spurs guard/forward DeMar DeRozan had 19 points in Wednesday's 134-101 loss to the Clippers, shooting 7-for-18 from the field and 5-for-5 at the foul line. He added three rebounds, three assists and one steal with four turnovers in 28 minutes. It was a rough night all around for the Spurs, but they have an instant opportunity to do better in Thursday's rematch. DeRozan might still disappoint, though, as he's averaged only 12.5 points with 4.5 assists and four rebounds in the matchup this season, shooting below 40 percent from the field.
San Antonio Spurs guard/forward DeMar DeRozan finished Monday's 100-97 loss to Charlotte with a game-high 28 points on 11-for-16 shooting. He was 6-for-7 at the line and played some very efficient basketball with zero turnovers in 35 minutes, five assists, two rebounds, and one steal. Derrick White had 21 points as the second-best Spurs scorer. DeRozan recently missed some time for personal reasons, but he hasn't missed a beat since returning to the lineup, averaging 26 points and 8.3 assists across three games. He'll try and keep the momentum in a pair of games against the Clippers next. DeRozan had a tough time in this year's first meeting with Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers, scoring only six points in a 116-113 win on Jan. 5.
San Antonio Spurs guard/forward DeMar DeRozan was back on the court Friday night against Cleveland, finishing a 116-110 win with 20 points and seven assists. He shot a solid 7-for-12 from the floor and 6-for-7 at the foul line. DeRozan lost his father and clearly wasn't in the right state of mind to play, missing four games. He was actually supposed to miss Friday's matchup as well when he was listed out on Thursday, so it was a nice surprise to see him back in action. San Antonio has another game on Saturday against Milwaukee. DeRozan has struggled in back-to-back situations this season, scoring only 13 points on 40.7 percent shooting on zero days rest.
