DeMar DeRozan News
San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan, who is entering free agency this offseason, could be on his way to Los Angeles. Assuming Kawhi Leonard (knee) remains with the organization, DeRozan can help lessen the load of the hobbled superstar, primarily on the offensive end. However, to make a deal happen, specifically from a fiscal sense, a sign-and-trade agreement may have to be orchestrated. With DeRozan anticipated to command nearly $30 million per year in a new deal, a move to L.A. could be unlikely unless Clippers' personnel are willing to part ways with Luke Kennard and Ivica Zubac. The 31-year-old averaged 21.6 points while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field throughout 61 games in San Antonio last season. Regardless of his location, he is expected to have a few more quality years of service left in the tank.
San Antonio Spurs guard/forward DeMar DeRozan scored a game-high 23 points in just 25 minutes in Sunday's 123-121 loss to Phoenix. He shot a solid 8-for-14 from the field and 6-for-7 at the foul line, even making his only attempt from deep. DeRozan hadn't nailed a single triple since March. He wrapped up his line with four assists, three rebounds and two turnovers. The Spurs made it to the play-in tournament as the 10th seed and will face Memphis on Wednesday. DeRozan had a great game with 28 points against the Grizzlies in the first matchup of the season, but he struggled in the next two with only 19 total points.
San Antonio Spurs guard/forward DeMar DeRozan led his team with 27 points on 10-for-18 shooting in Thursday's 102-98 loss to the Knicks. He finished 7-for-9 at the foul line and had eight rebounds and four assists with one steal and three turnovers to complete his line. The Spurs clinched a spot in the play-in tournament on Thursday, so the final two regular-season matchups against the Suns will be dead-rubber games for them, which should give DeRozan a chance to rest up for the tournament. The team is finishing the regular season in awful form, but DeRozan has done well with five consecutive 20-point games.
San Antonio Spurs small forward DeMar DeRozan helped lead the team to a 146-125 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. DeRozan shot 9-for-17 from the field and 5-for-7 from the line in the game, dropping a team-high 23 points. He also had three rebounds and three assists as well as five turnovers. DeRozan has topped 20 points in four of five games this month. He's averaging 21.4 points per game on the year while shooting 48.9% from the field. However, his season has been highlighted by a career-best 7.1 assists per game. Next up for DeRozan and the Spurs is a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
