Denver Nuggets shooting guard Julian Strawther (knee) will be re-evaluated in four weeks, the team announced. The 22-year-old sprained his left knee in Sunday's loss to the Boston Celtics. He will miss his first game of the season when Denver faces the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. Strawther has averaged 9.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists during his second year in the Association. Christian Braun took on a huge workload on Sunday, logging 47 minutes, and may be expected to continue to do so until the Nuggets get Strawther and Aaron Gordon (ankle) back.
Denver Nuggets guard Julian Strawther (knee) is expected to play through a right knee strain on Tuesday when the Nuggets visit the Mavericks to start a back-to-back. Strawther is averaging 21.8 minutes per game for the season, but he's been getting more run lately, playing over 25 minutes in five straight games and averaging 28.4 minutes per game and producing 11.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Strawther has helped pick up the slack with Nikola Jokic (illness, probable), Jamal Murray (knee, probable), and Aaron Gordon (calf, probable) all battling injuries recently. If all those stars play as expected, Strawther's role could be reduced a little bit, but he has performed well enough to maintain a meaningful role.
Denver Nuggets shooting guard Julian Strawther (wrist, ankle) has been cleared to play on Sunday against Atlanta. He's dealing with a couple of different ailments at the moment, but the team has upgraded Strawther from probable to available. The 22-year-old has just logged a season-high 33 minutes in Saturday's matchup against Washington, and Strawther should see additional playing time again on Sunday due to Jamal Murray's (hamstring) absence. Strawther was impactful at both ends against the Wizards, scoring 18 points and registering two blocks and three steals.
Denver Nuggets guard/forward Julian Strawther was the top scorer in Sunday's Summer League action, finishing an 84-81 loss to Toronto with 32 points. The Las Vegas native shot 10-for-21 from the field with a 6-for-12 effort from outside and completed his line with three rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block. Strawther was used very sparingly by the Nuggets during his rookie campaign, but he's carrying a big load in the Summer League, averaging 28.5 points in close to 34 minutes per game. The 2023 champions have lost a pair of big backcourt pieces this offseason, meaning we should see Strawther a lot more in 2024-25, and he's produced encouraging performances in Las Vegas.
Denver Nuggets small forward Julian Strawther led the team with 25 points in the final Summer League game against the Knicks on Saturday, shooting 8-for-16 from the field and leading his side to an 89-86 win. He sank five triples with 11 attempts and also led his squad with nine rebounds, whilst adding two assists, one steal, and one block to his stat line. The Gonzaga product looked shaky in his first couple of Summer League outings but appeared to get better with each game and ended up posting 20-plus points in each of his final three appearances. Strawther looks promising, but the 2023-24 campaign is set to be more of a learning curve for him in the NBA, with a number of players ahead of him in the Nuggets rotation.
