Ivica Zubac News
Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac (rest) won't play during Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. His absence will give Harry Giles III and Isaiah Hartenstein a chance to earn a roster spot. Serge Ibaka (back) continues to have injury issues, so Zubac is likely going to be asked to step up. Zubac should be a fine option in 12-team leagues, while Giles and Hartenstein probably won't see enough time to warrant rostering.
Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac (knee) was not able to suit up for Monday's Game 5 against the Phoenix Suns. Luckily for Zubac, his team was able to win the contest and avoid elimination. The Clippers used a committee of Marcus Morris Sr., DeMarcus Cousinsand Nicolas Batum to fill the void. However, none of them could match the size of Deandre Ayton. The hope is that Zubac will be able to return for their next contest, but the team has not given an update on his status. Cousins will remain a cheap streaming option until Zubac gets back on the court.
Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac will start in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. Zubac had nine points throughout 18 minutes of work during the loss to Phoenix on Sunday, but it appears that he will have a more prominent role on Tuesday evening. With this move, Nicolas Batum will head back to the bench, although he could still see ample floor time. While Batum has more to lose from the demotion, he still has a higher ceiling than Zubac, although it's not as big as it was in Game 1.
Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac reached the double-double column for the 13th time this season on Tuesday when he picked up 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 115-96 win over Toronto. He handed out three assists as well with one block and two turnovers while shooting 8-for-12 from the field and 2-for-2 at the line. Zubac is far from a walking double-double, but he always puts in plenty of work on the glass and notches a decent amount of points. We could see some really big numbers from him in the next two matchups against the Hornets and the Rockets, who both have had a tough time against centers this year.
