  • Aaron Donald Not Expected To Report For Offseason Workouts

Los Angeles Rams defensive end Aaron Donald is not expected to report for offseason workouts this week, at least until he gets a new contract. He's scheduled to make $6.9 million in the fifth and final year of his rookie deal, but he's seeking an extension that could pay him more than $20 million per year. Last year, Donald didn't show up to voluntary workouts, mandatory minicamp or training camp, so this won't be anything new for him. The missed time didn't affect his on-field play, as Donald recorded 11 sacks. Donald will get his new contract, but it may take some time. He'll remain a top IDP player next year on an improved Rams defense overall.

  • Aaron Donald Doesn't Plan To Hold Out Again

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who could win Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, said he doesn't plan to hold out for the second season in a row as he seeks a contract extension. Donald sat out all last summer before missing Week 1 of the regular season. He played in just 14 games in 2017 but still tied his career high with 11 sacks and recorded an NFL-high 91 quarterback pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. Donald will be under contract for $6.89 million in 2018, but he would delay his free agency by a year if he doesn't report a month before the start of the regular season. Donald has been arguably the best all-around defensive player in the league the last two seasons and will be a highly coveted IDP player again in 2018.

  • Aaron Donald Extension A Priority For Rams

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who tied a career high with 11.0 sacks and led the league with 91 quarterback pressures, is in line for a contract extension this offseason, but the Rams have not come to an agreement yet. Donald played in just 14 games and was voted to his fourth straight Pro Bowl and was also named a first-team All-Pro for the third straight year. However, general manager Les Snead isn't putting a timeline on extension talks for Donald. "But, like I've always said with Aaron … we want him to be a Ram a long time. So when we ink that deal or not — I can't put a timeline on it. But it is a major priority, as it always will be until we get it done," Snead said. Donald is one of the best up and coming defensive tackles in the NFL and will once again be a top-tier IDP player in 2018.
