  • Jordan Howard Will Be Featured Back

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said running back Jordan Howard will be the team's "featured back" in 2018. However, Nagy also said, "we're going to use multiple backs." Obviously Howard will continue to be the early-down back after two straight 1,000-yard seasons to open his career, but his lack of receiving skills leaves him vulnerable to losing third-down touches to Tarik Cohen, who is a superior pass catcher. Howard has 15 scores in two seasons, but he'll be a boom-or-bust fantasy commodity and could disappoint as an RB1 next year.

  • Bears Won't Trade Jordan Howard

Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard said his agent spoke with the team and they assured him that Howard will not be traded. Howard is slated to be the main running back again in 2018 after he opened his career with two 1,000-yard seasons in Chicago's backfield. However, he was much less effective in 2017, running for just 4.1 yards per carry, although he did score nine touchdowns. Still, Howard isn't much of a pass catcher, and Tarik Cohen could steal more work from him in that area in 2018. Howard will be a risky RB1 selection next year.

  • Jarvis Landry, Jordan Howard Swap Discussed

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry is set to be a free agent, and NBC Sports Chicago's John Mullin reports the Chicago Bears and Dolphins "have had conversations" about a trade involving running back Jordan Howard and Landry. According to Mullin, the discussed deal would send Howard and the No. 8 pick to Miami in exchange for Landry, the No. 11 pick and a third-round selection. Howard has been the engine of the offense since the Bears selected him in the fifth round of the 2016 draft, gaining 2,858 yards from scrimmage in two seasons. Mullin reports new Bears head coach Matt Nagy has concerns about Howard's fit in his offense, however, specifically in the passing game. Pro Football Focus has charted Howard with 14 drops in just two seasons.
