  • Matt Ryan Has Mediocre Game Versus Miami Dolphins

Matt Ryan had another less-than-stellar outing Sunday, completing 24 of 35 passes for 248 yards. Ryan threw one touchdown and one interception as well. While Ryan didn't look terrible, he and the Atlanta Falcons' passing attack have really seemed to struggle to find their way as of late. This was on display Sunday, as no Falcons' receiver managed to break 100 yards, and only Julio Jones had more than 50 receiving yards. Whether it's the Falcons' amazing success running the ball with both Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, or just a matter of play-calling, the results are still the same: Ryan isn't the elite fantasy talent he was a year ago. Moreover, Ryan's woes are spreading to the rest of the Falcons' receivers. There's still time for the offense to turn it around, and next week the Falcons are on the road, looking to bounce back versus the New England Patriots.

  • Matt Ryan Throws Three Interceptions on Road

After two weeks of efficient game management, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan had a bad day versus the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Ryan completed 24 of 35 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw three interceptions, and finished the game with a total quarterback rating of 45.0. On the plus side for Ryan's fantasy owners, two things should stand out. First, two of Ryan's interceptions came as his receivers bobbled or dropped passes, which can be attributed more to poor luck than poor decision making. Another positive note? Up until this road game, Ryan hadn't thrown an interception which means even with this game averaged in, the 32 year-old quarterback is only averaging one interception per game. Next week, Ryan will look to bounce back from this weak performance as he and the Atlanta Falcons return home in their matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

  • Matt Ryan A Low-Risk Start Versus Lions in Week 3

Efficiency has been the name of the game for Matt Ryan this season. While he's only passed for two touchdowns, Ryan hasn't thrown any interceptions, and has an average quarterback rating of 112.0 through two weeks. That efficiency means one thing for fantasy owners: Ryan is a dependable starter. He hasn't managed to break into the top five yet, but was in the top ten in Week 1. This Sunday, Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons are on the road versus the Detroit Lions, a defense that's allowed 16.5 points per game. They've also allowed 235.5 passing yards per game, which bodes well for Ryan and the Falcons' receivers. Either way, Ryan doesn't make many mistakes, and his efficiency gives him a high floor. He also has multiple receivers capable of both getting open and scoring, which gives him a high ceiling. Start him accordingly.
