Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph grabbed seven of eight targets for 72 yards against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. Rudolph was held to just 11 yards in Week 1, so this performance gives fantasy owners a bit more reassurance that Rudolph will remain a focal point of the Vikings offense going forward. He will still be behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen in the reception pecking order, but Rudolph can be considered a fringe-TE1 heading into Week 3.

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph was only targeted twice in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. While the single pass he caught was for a touchdown, it does not bode well for Rudolph's value going forward. Kirk Cousins has loved his tight ends throughout his career, and offensive coordinator John DeFilippo has always heavily utilized the position in his schemes. Both of these situations seem beneficial for Rudolph, but until his targets increase he is a touchdown or bust fantasy play. He could continue to be quiet in Week 2 against a Green Bay Packers secondary that only allowed one catch to Trey Burton in Week 1. Even still, fantasy owners should remain patient and see how the game plays out as Rudolph has been one of the best red-zone producers in the league over the past few seasons.

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph was only targeted twice in a 24-16 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Rudolph just had a single reception in the contest, but it was for an 11-yard touchdown. The lack of targets is fairly alarming considering how much Kirk Cousins seems to love his tight ends. Perhaps it can just be chalked up to some Week 1 weirdness, but it is definitely a situation worth monitoring heading into Week 2. Rudolph should still be started as a TE1 against the Green Bay Packers this upcoming Sunday.
