Germain Ifedi Fantasy

The Atlanta Falcons are signing free-agent offensive lineman Germain Ifedi to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. The former Seattle Seahawks first-rounder will head to Atlanta after playing the last two seasons with the Chicago Bears. Ifedi spent the first four of his NFL seasons in Seattle, playing both right guard and right tackle. He played in only nine games for the Bears last year while landing on Injured Reserve due to a knee injury. In Atlanta, he'll be reunited with former teammate Jake Matthews. Ifedi will give the Falcons some offensive line depth in 2022.

The Chicago Bears placed right tackle Germain Ifedi on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday. Ifedi started the first five games of the season before landing on Injured Reserve with a knee injury. Elijah Wilkinson replaced him at right tackle before going on the COVID-19 list himself, but Wilkinson was activated on Friday and figures to return to the starting right tackle spot in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers. Linebacker Robert Quinn was also activated from the list on Friday, so Ifedi and tight end Jimmy Graham are the only players remaining on the COVID-19 list.

The Chicago Bears placed right tackle Germain Ifedi (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, but head coach Matt Nagy said that he will be back this season. Ifedi went down in the Week 5 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and will now miss at least the next three games. Elijah Wilkinson replaced Ifedi after his injury last Sunday and is expected to start at right tackle moving forward, beginning in Week 6 against the division-rival Green Bay Packers. It's a slight downgrade for rookie quarterback Justin Fields and Chicago's ground game entering a big Week 6 matchup.
