Matt Paradis News
Carolina Panthers center Matt Paradis (knee) will miss the rest of the season. During the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots, the veteran injured his knee and needed to be carted off the field. The official diagnosis is a torn ACL, which is unfortunate considering the team's struggles since winning its first three games to begin the 2021-22 campaign. Paradis has built a reputation for being one of the best at the position, so without him, the team's offensive line could struggle to keep things in order for Christian McCaffrey and Sam Darnold moving ahead.
Carolina Panthers center Matt Paradis (knee) was carted off the field during Sunday's game against the New England Patriots and was quickly ruled out. Sam Tecklenburg is second on the depth chart at center for the team. Considering how fast Paradis was ruled out, this doesn't look good in terms of his availability going forward this season and would hurt the Panthers running game, though a healthy Christian McCaffrey would likely be able to be fine regardless of who is playing center.
The Carolina Panthers signed free-agent center Matt Paradis to an undisclosed three-year deal on Thursday. Paradis was an adequate starting center for the Broncos the last four seasons after he was a sixth-round pick in 2014. He suffered a broken leg midway through last season but is expected to start at center after Ryan Kalil retired following the 2018 season. Paradis started 57 straight games with Denver and played every offensive snap from 2015 until his injury last year.
