Mike McCarthy News
The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms with former Packers coach Mike McCarthy to be their next head coach on Monday. Dallas finally fired Jason Garrett on Sunday and chose McCarthy the very next day. McCarthy was 125-77-2 in 13 years as the head man in Green Bay and won a Super Bowl. He had also interviewed with the Browns, Giants and Panthers. He brings plenty of experience to the table in Dallas and will have take over a roster ready to win right now. It'll be interesting to see how the Cowboys approach long-term deals with both quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper, but the Cowboys should be in contention to win the NFC East in 2020.
The Green Bay Packers fired head coach Mike McCarthy after their 20-17 loss to the Cardinals in Week 13. Joe Philbin will serve as the interim head coach for the final four games of what has become a lost season for Green Bay. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has struggled mightily in recent weeks with a lack of quality receivers behind Davante Adams, and his offensive line hasn't done him any favors either. It's the changing of the guard in Green Bay with McCarthy gone.
